Last week Arizona outplayed Cal and should have won on the road but a terrible decision by their quarterback destroyed them late leading to the eight point loss. I watched the game and trust me Cal did not come close to deserving to win and cover that thing by almost double digits. This team was obliterated against both Oregon and USC and also had it handed to them a few weeks ago at home against Oregon State.

Certainly a 7-3 record is solid but it's been a weak 7-3 for today's visitors.

Meanwhile Jim Harbaugh's team is rolling as much as a team could be rolling right now. They just embarassed both Oregon and USC the last two weeks combining for over 100 points in those games. The way Toby Gerhart has been running the ball has been beyond amazing and it's not like you can just load the box with a young future star in Andrew Luck at the quarterback position.

Stanford has won three in a row and is 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Pac-10. If not for imploding and blowing big leads at both Wake Forest and Arizona this team very very realistically would have only one loss all season long and be in the top seven or so in the entire nation.

I am a believer in what Harbaugh has done with this program and to get both Gerhart and Luck at home here makes me feel fairly comfortable in laying this number, even to a still semi dangerous Cal team.

The Tennessee Volunteers will have to pick up the pieces after a couple of disasters - one on the field and one off of it. The Volunteers were absolutely destroyed by the Ole Miss Running Rebels as Dexter McCluster absolutely tore up the Vols defense. The end result was a 42-17 drubbing. Along with that loss, the Vols had two key members kicked off their team - and one more to come - as they were arrested for attempted armed robbery.

Now the Volunteers have to get their focus back on the field if they plan to salvage their season and get bowl eligible.

The Vols are 5-5 right now and they get a visit from the Commodores, who are the SEC's worst team. They are 2-9 and they have no semblance of a passing game. Last week, the Vols were destroyed on the ground by McCluster but the Rebels also have a pretty good quarterback in Jevan Sneed. The Vols had to respect him but they won't have to respect the pass with Vandy.

This should be a fairly easy win for Tennessee simply because Vandy might not score much - if at all. Look for Lane Kiffin and his crew to get back on track with a big home win and get into the bowl picture.

You can expect an evenly matched, entertaining game between these two teams but both teams have key injuries. The Bulldogs will be without star wideout A.J. Green while Kentucky should be without quarterback Mike Hartline.

At home, look for the Bulldogs to edge out Kentucky and get a tight win.

I'm not sure if the 76ers are missing Andre Miller who moved on or what but these guys have just not been playing in any kind of rhythm. There is a lot of talent as Elton Brand is back somewhat healthy to complement a very good Andre Iguodala. Plus throw in some solid young kids like Lou Williams, Marreese Speights and Thadeus Young but there hasn't been a lot of success thus far and even though the Grizzlies are far from being a good team they do have a lot more talent than people realize.

Memphis has some players. No that doesn't always make for a good team and especially when a franchise has the losing culture which they do but Mayo, Gasol, Gay and Randolph can seriously stack up with almost any other four players on any team and with LeBron and the Cavs up next on Saturday for Philly I can see today's home chalk look past Memphis a bit in this spot.

The bottom line is that until the 76ers outclass anybody at all I will go against them when they are a solid touchdown or so favorite like this.

The Colorado Buffaloes have been brutal this yea and time may be running out for head coach Dan Hawkins. Last week, the Buffaloes shot themselves in the foot once again, coughing up three turnovers and committing 11 penalties en route to a home loss to Iowa State.

Sure being at home is huge and the Panthers are clearly more skilled than Eastern Kentucky but the Colonels do bring back a lot of talent and that definitely means something. Of course Mike Rose and his 20 points per game is gone which hurts but that is about it.

Justin Stommes poured in a game-high 28 points in the easy opening win over a cupcake and tonight will be a test that you know in terms of motivation EKU will be up for.

On the other hand I can't really see the Panthers treating this game as the end all be all and that could mean they once again go through the motions a bit.

If Pittsburgh comes to play and these guys gel a bit in this thing than we are clearly in some trouble. They are faster and more athletic and overall the far superior team in the building. But after the first two extremely unimpressive performances my money is on a third straight pedestrian effort.

Sunday should be another one of those cases as the Giants roll to a big win.
