I'm going with the white just because I think it's more obvious. I really do love the black & I'll be wearing it often. If you spot me in Safeway make sure you say "Hi".

Apparently it's been going around...I don't know where it originated but I got it from Pip, who got it from Sweet Jessie who heard from her best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend who heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night...you know how it goes.

Jodie & I met quite by accident at the Design Market on Sunday & how lucky was I? Jodie had one of her darling little birds for me. It's so gorgeous - thank you.

Nikki's kit which I won recently on her blog. It's for the puffy purse. I'd had grand plans of making it last weekend & didn't get to it....I'm looking forward to the date with my machine - thanks Nikki.

As any girl knows the Football Club Dinner Dance is THE social event of the year!

It's a 60s, 70s & 80s night (which means you could come dressed in just about anything...I know).

I've whittled my rather extensive collection of classic vintage dresses down to these two. Both were owned & worn by my Grandma. I'd say they would have been purchased in the 60s as this would have been when she was about the same size & shape as me.

The black number is "Made in Italy" & the white is "Made in Hawaii".

I think I'm leaning more towards the white because it looks a bit more dress uppy. I'm really loving that black number though & I think I'll be adding it to my real wardrobe. But I'd really appreciate your opinion.

I've got my eye on the Tackers coach & I want to make a good impression. He's got excellent taste in music, is really good behind the bar & plays a mean game of golf.

I was tagged ages ago by August Street & then Drewzel for this 7 songs gig.

**** WARNING **** music lovers should read no further!

Music is not really important to me. I like stuff, I just don't know what I like & because I share an office/studio/tip with the date I just leave it all up to him.

The pic above is the list (compiled by the date) of seven songs I've been listening to lately & enjoying. I think he's done pretty well considering I just mumble at him if I like something & grumble at him if I don't like it. I guess I'm just a background kind of girl.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. I spent alot of time with my Grandma as a kid & she always had the radio tuned to "easy listening 3MP".

The date loves music! I'm a sad disappointment to him. We are currently in negotiations. I want him to host the blog on a Monday for Mixtape Monday. He wants to know what's in it for him! .....Hmmm.

I try to keep this space happy. I talk alot about the small things that I appreciate & make me happy. I know I've raved a bit before about the smalls, the date & the extended family. It really is true...love is all you need.

So...what makes me "happy" is 2 date made Capiroska. Chatty, relaxed, giggly... it's a pretty fun version of me.

This could be my favourite "in a flash" dinner. I love it.

Fried Haloumi with Tomato
1 Piece of Haloumi Cheese
1 Tomato chopped
a few leaves of fresh basil chopped

Chop the tomato & basil & add the dressing set aside.

Add a splash of olive oil to a frypan & cook the cheese for a couple of minutes each side.

Serve topped with the tomato & basil mix. The saltiness of the cheese along with the tomato & basil is just sooo yummy.

Dressing:
a good slug of olive oil
a good slug of balsamic vinegar
Pinch of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of whole grain mustard

Shake in an old jam jar & store in fridge until required.

How to make a pincushion by hand...

We made these hand pieced hexagon shaped pincushions a few weeks ago at Brown Owls. They are a great way to use up scraps or tiny samples of favourite fabrics. Not surprisingly, I've used vintage pillowcase fabric for this.

The original project came from a vintage children's craft book, "How to make and do 100 new things". If you ever spot a copy in an Op Shop or second hand bookshop buy it - it's pure gold!

This teeny tiny pincushion made for my mum 20 years ago!

I'm really getting old when I can say I made something that long ago.

There was a needle rusted into it which I had to extract before taking the photo.

Why I don't like Monday...

The heart shadow on the floor still hanging in from my heart wanders. I think I'm going to leave it. The shadow only appears for about an hour each morning & everytime I glimpse it I smile.

Monday is my cleaning day & I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Monday. I hate the doing but I love the sparkling floors & the smell of eucalyptus filling the house.

Kristy tagged me. She wants to know 6 things that made me happy today. Actually she wanted to know last week but I was still at Slide Night.

So today these things have made me happy:

1. listening the the small girl on the phone receiving her birthday phone calls.
2. the smalls hugging each other.
3. walking along the street in the winter sun arm in arm with the big girl.
4. the date - he's especially good because he did the coffee run this morning.
5. the smell of eucalyptus oil.
6. the run.

I haven't forgotten the music meme. It's coming.

This is the little guy as drawn by the big girl & stitched by me. Pictured with his golf "blub" which, as a 2 year old he was rarely seen without.

It just so happens that Friday is my long run day. That means lots of time to think...& think...& think.

Today I was thinking about all the hopes & dreams we have for our smalls. This train of thought stemming from the fact that the little guy had a birthday yesterday. My smalls are quite suddenly not so small.

So what do I hope & wish for the life that lies ahead for my not-so-smalls?

loved, loving, give, share, grow, dream, happiness, health, confidence....

And then I got to thinking about the music boxes & I'd really love to make a collaborative music box with all of our hopes & dreams for little people just beginning.

I really love making these - they give me such pleasure & thinking of all that lies ahead for the little people that will own them gives me goosebumps.
