Fair Trade "Direct" coffee is roasted in Costa Rica and sold via the internet to consumers in the US. Coopepueblos sells approx. 1% of their coffee through this medium. The rest is exported to either the US or Europe through Coocafe, a Fair Trade certified exporter. We will be following both routes as the coffee makes its way out of Costa Rica.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2325394272545686723-333163132514058027?l=fincaprojectvideoblog.blogspot.com'/></div>Finca Project Video Blog 1.0http://www.blogger.com/profile/09021217520074728494noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2325394272545686723.post-42410297771418512412007-02-28T14:24:00.000-08:002008-11-18T23:39:50.505-08:00CAFTA Protest - February 26th, 2007<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://fincaproject.org/videos/TLC.mov"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_y3-90UakVbQ/ReYBVcwXuXI/AAAAAAAAAIg/6OBRJLjA8Cg/s200/TLC.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5036714701268433266" border="0" /></a>This is footage of the protest in San Jose, Costa Rica against CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) on Feb 26th. This is a very raw, unedited video blog. We are going to be making a series of video blogs that explain the complexities of this free trade agreement with the United States. We wanted to get this video blog out ASAP for the world to know what is going on here in Costa Rica. Stay tuned in the next couple of months to learn more about what is at stake.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2325394272545686723-4241029777141851241?l=fincaprojectvideoblog.blogspot.com'/></div>Finca Project Video Blog 1.0http://www.blogger.com/profile/09021217520074728494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2325394272545686723.post-9635957987350293132007-02-19T13:44:00.000-08:002008-11-18T23:39:50.629-08:00Fair Trade Coffee - Part 2 - The Beneficio<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://fincaproject.org/videos/Coffee2.mov"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_y3-90UakVbQ/Rdoah2EbHrI/AAAAAAAAAII/_1n7N_RExy0/s200/coffee2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033364702292025010" border="0" /></a>This is part 2 of our series of video blogs documenting the life of a coffee bean as it travels from the farmers here in Costa Rica to the consumers in the United States.
