Finished first sock in early February 08 and promptly misplaced my notes, so second sock was a bit later getting finished, finally found notes and pattern printout hidden in latest Spin Off. Have an old program called "ColorKnit", figure out pattern I want to do then print out copy for current sock.

The Work Socks

I just realized that I neglected to post photos of my finished socks! I cast off at the end of January, but still have not woven in the ends. Very bad. Here they are on my desk:

Yarn: Patons Kroy socks in Norfolk Blue and Krazy Stripes

Errant Lace Socks

The socks are done, finally. It wasn't until I stopped knitting lace shawls for the interim that these socks finally got done. The Errant Lace Sock pattern was available for free from socknitters.com when I started work on the socks but is no longer available there.

The socks are done in KP Essential Shoreline Twist with size 1 circulars. The heel is a banded heel -- that is, the lace pattern goes down the side of the heel flap but the center is in slip stitch. I also used a star toe for the first time.

The Stoopid Socks

Finished these Thursday night, finally another pair of the dumb and dumber socks are done. Now the 'even dumber' pair are back on needles, but this time will have just a plain solid colored foot. Long story. But did get 2 pair and the top patterned 5th sock out of one solid colored ball of Opal, amazing. But will be very happy to see the end of these dark teal yarn.

Hi everyone! I am a new Sock It To 'Em knitter.

This is my "work sock", so named because I will only knit it while I am at work. Progress was quick over the holidays when there wasn't a lot of actual work to do, but SSS is creeping up on me.

First pair of Monstersocks for 2008. Used up lots more little bits of leftovers. Only problem was picking up stitches for afterthought heel on black, will make sure that doesn't happen again. Still have enuff odds & sods to make at least another couple of pair. Life is good.

Another pair finished

Finished this pair Friday night, washed them yesterday and will deliver today. One 50 g ball Regia gray and lots of odds & sods, the only color I used that had to get into a new skein was the red Wildfoote. One of my favorite pair.

Maggie's socks #5

The last of the 5 pair ordered have been mailed. Next pair are now being called the Stoopid Socks, knit the first sock as I was still making another pair for Maggie instead of to fit intended person, so now have to make a pair to fit and then will make a second stoopid sock.

I know I've been more of a lurker than a sock-a-teer but I am so excited about these I have to share right now! I usually don't go all crazy over holiday themed stuff, but when I saw a shop sample of these, I had to have them. It's like candy corn for my feet! I can't wait to wear 'em.

Waffle Rib Socks

Another pair finished. The pattern is a simple Waffle Rib done in Cascade Sassy Stripes in the colorway: Diana

This yarn is mostly good. I did notice a change in the striping in the second half of the second skein. The grey became about a row longer and it threw off the striping so that the socks aren't identical twins. But, close enough, I guess.

The color didn't thrill me at first, but it has grown on me. It's the colors of DH's high school and both college he went to. They'll work out well if we ever go to homecoming.

I finished my plain STR socks earlier this evening. I had to finish the toe and knit the afterthought heel with a leftover ball of Trekking XXL. The STR is lightweight in the color Waterlilies.
On the drive home Mutti and I were admiring my socks. The following dialogue occured:

Me: "Well, they look goofy, but at least I got to use two of my favorite yarns. They're together - at long last."

Mutti: "They could mate and have sock babies."

Me: (making socks "mate" - hey, it was late, we were tired.)

Mutti: "Don't do that in the car! They'll get yarn come all over!"

Me: "Wouldn't that just be yarn tail?"

The rosy hot pink pair are #2 and almost whities #3, second sock of almost white pair will be finished today. Next will be an almost solid LL's pair with lots of odds & sods, soft blues, lavenders, greens etc.

It is definitely too dang hot to wear wooly socks, but when it cools off ... I'll be ready. Just plain stockinette socks, but the yarn is really different. It has sparkles.

I finally finished another pair of socks. I had been trying to get a pair done a month but it hasn't worked that way lately. I made them with Seacoast Yarns Royalty colorway, using the Garter Stitch Rib from Sensational Knitted Socks on No. 1 Knitpicks circulars.

Edited: Yeah, i was able to make the pictures smaller!! They are modified Mermaids from the Lucy Neatby book Cool Socks, Warm Feet in Knitpicks Essential Tweed in Plum. I did my favorite heel and for the toe, my favorite german round toe. They were loads of fun to make and the way the pattern swirls on its own is amazing. Here they are:

Leaving for a two week vacation on Saturday. Will continue on my pair of Monkeys which I love!

Opal solid colored yarn & Sockotta

First Opal solid colored sock done, second on needles and about half way down leg, (now done and really glad) using odds & sods in small peerie patterns. Sockotta on needles for almost 3 months, now on feet. Had about 6 days of not needing socks, weather changed and wooly time again.
