The Judgment: This provides us with a short description about the hexagram and its meaning. It gives us suggestions about actions that need to be undertaken.

The Image: This is also similar to the Judgment but gives us a course of action that needs to be undertaken.

The Changing Lines: These lines represent the changes that may occur in your life, the present or future, opportunities and dangers that you may have to overcome.

Wang's riches 'for feng shui man'

Nina Wang, formerly Hong Kong's richest woman, has left her fortune to her feng shui adviser, her lawyer says.

Businessman Chan Chun-chuen, 48, was the sole beneficiary of the multi-billion-dollar estate, he said.

Ms Wang made the decision because Mr Chan understood her "personal philosophy", he said.

The announcement sets the stage for a possible court battle, amid reports of a second will in which Ms Wang promised her money to a charitable trust.

Ms Wang, who died on 3 April, is thought to have left an estate worth about $4.2bn (£2.1bn).

Charity plan

Lawyer Jonathan Midgely described Mr Chan as a property investor who practised feng shui - the Chinese belief that a person's luck and health can be improved by the positioning of items to channel natural energy - as a hobby.

A legal notice posted in a several Hong Kong dailies said that Mr Chan was "very honoured" by the trust Ms Wang had shown in leaving him her fortune.

"In dealing with it, Mr Chan will at all times have regard to the values by which Nina Wang managed her business interests and personal affairs during her life," the notice said.

But Hong Kong media has reported the existence of a will dated July 2002 in which Ms Wang left her fortune to a foundation linked to her Chinachem group.

In that will, she is said to have asked that her money be used to establish a Chinese version of the Nobel prizes.

Members of Ms Wang's family are reported to have lodged a legal application in the name of the charity.

Mr Midgely played down talk of a conflict.

"We do not interpret this in any way as a hostile act, but a prudent step taken by experienced solicitors," he said of the family's legal action.

If a legal battle did ensue, it would not be the first over the Wang billions.

Nina Wang was first thrust into the limelight 15 years ago after her husband Teddy was abducted and never seen again. He was declared dead in 1999.

His disappearance led to a sensational legal fight between Ms Wang and her elderly father-in-law for control of Teddy Wang's billions.

Ms Wang won the eight-year battle in 2005 and was credited with expanding her husband's multinational corporation Chinachem into a real-estate empire.

In Feng Shui terminology, water is one of the most important words that everyone is concerned about.

When "Feng" is to mean "wind," then "Shui" is to stand for "water."

The basic principle of Feng Shui dictates that "winds carries the energy wherever it travels and yet it stops when meeting water."

Hence the importance of employing the element of "water" to serve as an "energy collector" or "energy accumulator" that further explains why seashore real estate is so much in demand and thus expensive everywhere.

The human body is basically composed of water, and the chi of the water inside your body has a similar frequency to that of any water nearby, rendering it possible to create a strong connection between the two.

If the chi of the water outside your body is pure and clear compared to the chi of the water inside your body, then the outer chi can improve the strength of your inner chi - very much like charging a battery.

You can bring water features into your home by adding small indoor waterfalls, fountains, aquariums or simply a bowl of fresh water that is located onto the correct spots. Moving water, if placed in a correct manner, will help to add more abundant energies to the environment.

To gain its beneficial effect, the water must be clean and fresh, as well as always dynamic - always flowing. There are even some very specific patterns of flows required of a good Feng Shui river, according to the old Feng Shui texts.

All through the thousands of years when Feng Shui is practised, the correct locations and flow patterns of the element of water has been the most important concern among all others.

It is universally preferred that bedrooms, just like any other premises, would be better to be rectangular in shape.

A square shaped bedroom is the next chosen shape if the first priority is not attainable.. This is so not only because the rectangular bedroom is the easiest way to decorate, but also the most efficient geometric layout in which opitmal positioning can be made possible.

Most items and furniture that go inside the bedroom are rectangular and therefore everything goes into a very smooth flow when viewed as a whole. The more irregular the shapes of the room, the more discomfort the occupant of the room feels, sometimes for reasons that are beyond words and explanations.

To more experienced Feng shui masters, these shouldn't be too hard to explain.

But first things first - the most important room in the house is the master's bedroom. This is the room where the master or the head figures of the household rests. It's the headquarter of the whole house - thus the main control of the well being of the whole unit - what happens in this headquarter will be further passed onto the other parts of the house, affecting everyone who dwells in this particular environment. That's why Feng Shui experts will place a lot of emphasis onto this particular portion of the house.

There are indeed many things to pay attention to when trying to align the master bedroom to the best Feng Shui positioning:

The direction of the bedroom in relation to the general house design, its sector from the point of the compass, and its shape. The position of the bed, the colors that are and should be employed including the decorations that are most appropriate. For Feng shui experts, this goes without saying that even the minute detail must have relevancy similar to how a modern interior decorator does in making judgments and decisions.

While it is often best to have a rectangular bedroom, there will always be the so-called "personal preference" of the occupant that stands in the way. In the supermarket style of Feng shui practice, every individual is said to carry a Kua number.

This is said to determine the best position for the bed and other factors are supposedly decided by the Feng shui experts who is in charge. If the best position cannot be achieved because of the location and direction of the room, the next best direction is chosen.

It is further believed that the kua number is a more personal thing and so the Feng shui expert is in a position to make the decision as to how to arrange for the placements of the trigrams in the eight direction of the room where each represents a family member and their individual directions. But sadly, this is all bunch of made-believe stuffs that are not in any way to reflect true Feng Shui wisdom.

For decorational purposes, it is suggested that no shape objects be placed anywhere in the bedroom, not to mention those electronic equipment that emits too strong of electro-magnetic disturbances.

Bedroom is the place for rest, and therefore should be made and designed with harmony in mind.

Fine Tune The Energies In Your Home Using Clocks

Clocks are excellent for adding rhythm to a space, and you can tune into this, making it easier to find your own rhythm. Clocks bring in more yang chi and are associated with metal chi in the five elements.

Place them in the stagnant segments of your home to strengthen the metal chi there, or in the parts of your house that need water energy to generate more water chi - metal generates water in the rules of the five elements, remember...?

If you fill a room with pendulum clocks, they will all swing together after a while. Any rhythmic cycle encourages other cycles with a similar rhythm to synchronize. For example, women living together often find that their menstrual cycles harmonize.

It's also for this same reason that the clocks have to be placed carefully onto the right spots too because too much or too less or interaction with the wrong elements can bring in undesirable effects.

The rhythmic motion of a pendulum and its ticking sound will fill your home with a rhythm that you can tune in to. You are made up of rhythms (heartbeat, breathing) so the rhythms of life make a big difference to the way you feel.

How To Use Mirrors In Your Feng Shui Home

Mirrors help redirect chi and keep it moving. They are ideal in rooms that are dark, because they reflect the available light and chi back into the room. In small or narrow rooms, large mirrors give the impression that the room is wider than it actually is. Hang the mirrors on the longer walls, to create the impression that the proportions of the room are closer to a square. Mirrors are associated with water chi.

Avoid positioning mirrors so that they are directly opposite a door or window, as they will reflect the chi back out of your home again. Two mirrors opposite each other risk chi bouncing back and forth, creating a more frantic atmosphere. Keep mirrors in your bedroom to a minimum. For maximum effect use mirrors in dark narrow rooms.

Convex mirrors are round, fish-eye ones that help disperse chi energy. Use them where your stairs lead straight to your front door, or in a long corridor.

As you can see, using mirrors correctly creates a faster, more exciting, spacious, active environment.

It doesn't matter much what kind of mirror is being used - the most important thing to bear in mind is this:

Never use a mirror in a very dark room or anywhere the Sun never shines onto. Such places are called "yin" locations and having a mirror there will speed up and enhance the accumulation of the "yin" energies which will give rise to many "ghosty" experiences.

Spread Chi Around Your Room Using Crystals

What are the important tactics for the "2007 Feng Shui Year of the boar?"

I've been asked this question too many a time even before the beginning of the lunar Chinese new year, which is the eighteenth of February this year. I'm not surprised though because the Chinese tradition dictates that each household would do some clean-up rituals before the end of each year.

When one wants to clean up the energy of the house to make it a real "Feng Shui house" so to speak, one'd definitely need to sort out the Feng Shui in the bedroom to begin with, and then incorporate good Feng Shui interior design wisdom to put things in the most appropriate positions according to the "Flying Star" energy flow chart of each year. Such ordinary household objects as plants, fountains, mirrors, lamps, artistic objects and the like - they have to be cleverly positioned in order for the desired effects of a good "Feng Shui house" to take place.

The sure sign of excellent Feng Shui interior design will be that when someone enters this house, they'd feel its harmony which is not too "yang" nor too "yin" - i.e. everything is in dynamic and yet gentle flow. Everything is done with the right touch. The lighting from outside just blends in nicely with the interior setup...etc.

But the most important thing is: all these have to be done according to the "Flying Stars" energy flow chart of each particular year. Or else, it'd be just a nicely decorated house, not a good Feng Shui house with Feng Shui interior design in use.

For example, in this 2007 Feng Shui year of the boar, the "Yellow Star of the Earth" falls upon the NE direction. It's because of the nature of this "Yellow Star of the Earth" that it's best not to put anything that is too vibrant and dynamic in the NE direction.

Physical as well as emotional sensations of this nature are often caused by the inappropriate Feng Shui setup that changes every year. Yes, in Chinese, there's a good old saying that goes "Feng Shui rotates itself constantly."

Therefore, the first and foremost important point to bear in mind if you want to live in a good Feng Shui house in 2007 Feng Shui year of the boar, is to ensure the NE directions are clear of anything that is too "Yang" or too dynamic by nature. No spiky plants, no hi-fi or TV, no heater, or anything that emits too much dynamic energy...in the NE direction.

What to do if you just so happen to have these but can't change any of them:

Not to worry, it's going to be easy - put a white earthen object such as a vase, or a piece of art in white color, or a dog statue in the NE direction. This, according to the rules of I-ching, will help neutralize the negative influences derived from such a wrongful mix of Feng Shui factors.

Mind you though, this is only the first and foremost Feng Shui concern for 2007. There are still a few important points to be dealt with later.

Ask any good Feng shui consultant and they will tell you that there are no fixed cures for all positions in Feng shui. A good Feng shui house for example may be good during the time it was constructed, but in Feng shui everything is fluid. Time and things changes. Unlike science where there are fixed answers to questions that would be consistent and will give the same result over and over, Feng shui does not. But like science, Feng shui gives answers that are very specific, at least for a definite period of time. This is where the Feng shui compass or the lo pan is useful.

Any Feng shui design, decoration and orientation without using the Feng shui compass will only be a design preference. The orientation that are gathered and the designs and the decorations that are spent to follow a Feng shui principle will not give out its maximum effect. For some it would mean very little and with the passage of time it will amount to nothing.

While it is true that there are eight basic compass direction, a Feng shui compass reading goes far beyond that. For example, a Feng shui reading is dependent on time. There are 24 hours in a day and so there are 24 main divisions. A Feng shui's time frame of effectivity is about 20 years. Multiply that and factor in the number of different floor plan layouts and your answer to different Feng shui house types is actually infinite. Again there are no fixed cures; this is why the Feng shui compass is very important. It's reading will determine the particular map of energy of a specific type of house or an edifice. Another thing is that the effectivity of Feng shui is diminished and after 20 years, the energy flow that you once enjoyed will now is gone.

It may not come as a surprise then why the harmony, prosperity and well being of the occupants in the house will now be very much altered than what it was 20 years ago. When the particular period has elapsed, it could be a time you will have to re map, do another reading and realign your house to the changed direction of the energy that is flowing.

Feng shui is exact. The answers are all very specific. What makes it confusing though is often the different level of expertise of the practitioners. The effectivity of the Feng shui reading will often depend on the depth of knowledge of the Feng shui consultant that you employ.

A Feng shui consultant who can provide readings and cure in a whiz may not often be the right consultant. When the readings are done without the aid of a Feng shui compass, start asking questions because the effectivity of Feng shui designs hangs largely on the accuracy of the reader.

You can make your own readings too. Feng shui compass reading and by extension, the practice of Feng shui is not really a very difficult art to master what it take is diligence. This way you could be in a better position to know whether your Feng shui consultant is doing a good job or not. In the Internet are many different stores to shop from. Often they are willing to provide help and instruction to their customers.

Designing a Feng Shui Classroom

In Feng shui, all areas have their energy fields. The best indicator to harmonize with these fields is the bagua map. What does the bagua tells you according to the different zones in a space. The indicators must be followed so that you are in harmony with the environment and the forces around you.

The bagua map as applied to a classroom brings similar results. Here's how.

Pay close attention to the way the furniture, desks, board, tables, and chairs are arranged. The arrangements should coincide with what the bagua map indicates. Know that there are five basic elements in Feng shui, the fire, water, earth, metal and wood. Once you know what the bagua map indicates, the things that you bring to the classroom and how you arrange them should be in harmony with these elements.

Arranging the classroom according to what the quadrants in the octagon in the bagua indicates will improve the results that you want to achieve in it.

There are occasions though that you cannot arrive at an open position in the classroom that is in accordance with your bagua map. This may be due to the limitation of space, the basic design and structure and the positioning of the classroom. If this is the case, you can still arrange the classroom in the conventional style that has rows of desks arranged one in front of the other and in a lined way. This is still okay provided you place objects and decorations that coincide with what the bagua map require, but keep this kind of arrangement as a second option. The best way will always have the classroom arranged in line with the zones that the bagua map indicates.

The Feng shui compass should also be employed, as this will indicate the most favorable position according to the eight compass directions. The information that could be derived here will enable you to find out the best orientation of the classroom and its furnishings.

Other important things that should highly be considered is that the teacher must always have a line of vision that will enable him to look at all directions and a position where the back is not turned to the door.

The teacher is the most influential person in the classroom. Even with the limitation of design, the desk that he is working on should be according to the bagua map.

As with any space, sharp corners and protrusions in the wall disturbs the flow of chi. avoid a position whereby students will be in direct line with it.

Do something about open beams if there are any. The chi flows in a way that whoever would be positioned directly below the beam will suffer the extra pressure that is generated in those beams.

Students, especially the younger ones are good agents of clutter. One of the best things that the teacher has to do is to train the kids to avoid cluttering and dirtying the classroom. A Clutter free classroom is not only good Feng shui it is also an assurance that you are putting them out of harms way.

Classrooms are often students second home. It is only fitting for them to have a classroom that follows the principles of Feng shui.
