Though Sepalot remains the producer and DJ of the pioneering German hip hop group Blumentopf, his time is now used to create his own sound as showcased on Red Handed. Distinctly European, Sepalot's style doesn't fit a specific formula, mixing all of his favorite genres into a melange of hip hop and related sounds, with a big piece of electro thrown in. From Sydney to Johannesburg and Moscow to his hometown Munich, Sepalot's DJ mixes have left turntables sizzling, and he's collected star-studded guests along the way for his debut solo album. The first single from Red Handed, "She Likes Me," featuring Frank Nitty (the Frank in Frank'n'Dank), sets the tone for what's in store and has created quite a buzz amongst DJs worldwide. With West Coast MC Blu the featured guest on the B-side, "Surrender," a track specifically chosen for its more hardcore approach, Sepalot showcases the strengths of this album and his ability to stand out from the flood of international albums. It is an homage to all his musical influences of yesterday, today and tomorrow. This is where the story ends and begins - Red Handed takes you on a journey to hip hop and beyond!

The term "crossover artist" can mean many things. In the case of argentine pianist and composer Dario Boente, it means a musician who is equally at home performing romantic tango and jazz compositions on a grand piano, as he is programming world-beat electronica.

Dario's musical personality energetically bridges the Jazz-club and the Dance-club, and is a direct outgrowth of his own life. Having been brought up in Argentina and Spain, immersed in the culture of tango and Brazilian music, he pursued his formal studies at the Guildhall School of Music (London), Berklee School of Music (Boston) , the New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program (New York) and his social life in the dance/electronica scene of New York, Madrid, London and Ibiza .

In the early 90’s, Boente toured the Euro circuit playing “Big Joe Turner” as his keyboard player and musical director, with pop band Imagination, with spanish flamenco singer "Jose el Frances", making dance tracks, and performing in the major Jazz festivals.

In 1999, Dario moved to New York City. Since then, he has released three Cd’s as a leader, featuring well know Jazz musicians as drummer Antonio Sanchez (from Pat Metheny Group), drummer Victor Jones (Stan Getz, Chaka Khan), guitarist Ronny Jordan, Saxophonist Miguel Zenon, flutist Jorge Pardo (Paco de Lucia, Chick Corea), among others.

Currently, Dario leads his own bands "huge in Japan" and "Projecto Sur" plays with percussionist Luis Quintero and works in the studio with R&B multi grammy award winner Joshua Thompson (George Benson. Luther Vandross, Alicia Keys).

As a side man, Dario has played and/or recorded with guitarrist Ronny Jordan, Grammy winning Louie Vega’s “Elements of Life”, Ximo Tebar,Pablo Aslan, Mino Cinelu, John Benitez, Alex Blake, Alex Forster, Abdou Mboup, Craig Handy, Mark Eagan, Frank Lacy’s “13 Piece Band”, Victor Jones’s “Culturversy.” and with Djs Little Louie Vega, Ananda Project and MR. V, to name a few. He performed piano duets with Dave Kikoski and Richie Beirach, and played keyboards on Big Joe Turner’s European tour.

Dario has performed in more than 19 countries worldwide and his compositions have been included in several albums and compilations. Dario resides in New York City.
