There's this little park wedged between some houses and the 101 freeway next to Universal Studios. Little League baseball field, patchy grass, and trees obscuring the view of this sound wall, mere feet from speeding cars on their way to wherever.

The 3-way intersection at Lankershim, Vineland and Camarillo in North Hollywood. Not many of these around. Try not to tackle this one for the first time by yourself. Not rocket science, just confusing as hell.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church. A beautiful building that sits nonchalantly in a North Hollywood neighborhood on Tujunga Ave. Across the street is a park, library and community center. Other great stuff in North Hollywood (Noho for those trying to sound cool) soon to come.

Inside the blacksmith shop at Los Encinos State Park. Open the 3rd Sunday of the month. Come see the anvil, sharpening wheel, coal fire, and assorted goodies. This pic taken with both arms through the iron gate similar to the window in the center.

The lonely road. Somewhere between North Hollywood and Warner Center along the new dedicated busway called the Orange Line. Nice bike/walk path. Worthless mass transit system; and accident-prone to boot.

Seen here is the Universal City Red Line (subway) station. Some type of construction has created this tangled web of scaffolding and support beams above the stairs leading down to the tunnel.

Very odd. A Victorian-style house currently renting out office space. It's wedged between a used car dealership and an auto body shop on Sherman Way at Corbin Ave.

Here's a set of mechanical wings outside the Hathaway Building at the Van Nuys Airport. During the week the wings flap up and down by some kind of motor on the inside. Corner of Sherman Way and Hayvenhurst.

Above this carpet of purple are those houses seen below. Alongside proper drainage so they don't crumble and slide down the hill. Taken on south Reseda Blvd near the top.

There it is. The Valley. This cluster of very expensive homes looks a bit like a quaint little village in the hills. The view up there is fantastic; best on a breezy day when the smog has blown away.

A look at the partly-cloudy sky in the reflection of a puddle on Valerio near Van Nuys Blvd. Could it be symbolic of what this photoblog seeks too accomplish? Maybe, but why get unnecessarily heady? Just enjoy.
