If they did, your <br />change wouldn't be permanent.<br /><br />In fact, any change you make will be temporary unless YOU <br />take responsibility for your change. In my practice, I always <br />ask "Are YOU ready to take responsibility for this change? <br />Will YOU implement it now?" Will YOU make it permanent?<br /><br />We have all created what we are experiencing. How about these?<br /><br />Do you repeat the same daily motions to start your day?<br /><br />Do you go to the store the same way every time?<br /><br />How about when you get angry? Do you take the same steps? <br /><br />First, you have a thought. Then, your body tenses up. Then, <br />you say the wrong things.<br /><br />Well, if this isn't what you want in your life, you can change.<br />You can change the sequence and come up with a different <br />response. For instance, you can have the thought that normally <br />starts the anger routine. Then, you realize what is about to <br />happen and you laugh. Yes, you laugh. Out loud. It's really not that <br />difficult. Decide from now on that your ways to feel good <br />are pretty easy, and your ways to feel bad are going to be <br />pretty hard.<br /><br />Decide from now on that it's too much trouble to feel bad <br />if supper isn't ready on time. Decide that it's too much <br />trouble to feel bad if your favorite team loses a game. <br />Decide that it's too much trouble to feel bad if you don't <br />meet a self-imposed deadline.<br /><br />Realize how easy it is to feel good even if the sun doesn't <br />shine. Realize how easy it is to feel good even if you are <br />late for work. Realize how easy it is to feel good even if <br />you don't meet your goal this week.
