Drift event (X-treme Pro Drifting Trophy) & Car Show (The Nordic Tuner Awards) in the middle of Helsinki City, nice!

Friday started by drifting qualification runs. My team mates at Team Falken had done a great job getting the RX-7 running. The Nissan powered and Holset boosted devil had it's first dyno run just night before the event.

The cars engine was just been driven in and getting some settings & set-ups done by Mr. Valtonen from Valtonen Motorsport. He's the man behind this build and the driver of the car as well. Everything went pretty well considering that this car had never been driven since the build.

By the end of friday, Nikke from Team Falken was on the 1st place. Ossi was on the 5th place. So it was looking good for the team.

Saturday opened up really dark, but luckily it didn't rain all day.
Nikke was pushing really good till he did a little mistake and spun the car = 0 points. He lost at the bronze battle and finished at the 4th place.

Ossi on the other hand had really good pace, until he broke the drive shafts end.

It was the 3rd set for the weekend and the team didn't have any more spares.
So, Nikke lent he's car to Ossi, witch ended in good results.

Ossi won at the finals after really tight "One-more-time" -run and Leffe Hausselman from Åland came 2nd. Marko Hyvönen who had technical problems and got he's team mates car for the finals finished 3rd place.
What a birth day gift to Ossi who turned 30 at saturday, Congrats mate!

The X-Treme Festival also had a car show - The Nordic Tuner Awards.
My car ended in the Top 10 of the show. It was nice surprise. The Sweds had the best cars on the show IMO.

The Evos were super sick.

So you all have seen the first Gymkhana film that was pretty insane. Want some more? Fo'sure!!! But how to one-up the previous film!?!

Ken's got new weapon for the Gymkhana two mayhem. The WRX STI 2009 aka GYM2, built by Crawford Performance.

It's featuring Full Race cage, Recaro Carbon/Kevlar bucket seat, Brembo big brakes, Tein coilover suspension, Crawford Performance SR5 2,65 l Race Engine and tons of STi & Prodrive goodies, like the carbon fibre wing. The Volk TE37 [DC-edition] wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force rubbers. The whole lot built in just 43 days!!!

Hi chaps! Remeber this beast? (The +1033 hp RB26DETT Skyline from Finland)

So, the owner had some more Dyno sessions. The car did fine, it held the boost time after time, the engine got some cam adjustments done for different torque setups etc.

After few dozen the dyno sessions the engine was opened and analysed for wear & tear. It was fine, everything as it should be.

So the engine is going for some more boost, as the latest dyno figures were disappointing for the owner – you might think, what the hell… Well the figures were just under 1000 Wheel Horsepower, 996,6 whp to be exact. He wants +1000 whp from 2,6 litre engine, hah.

The new plan is to run it at 2.5 - 2.8 bar boost. The previously used 2.3 bar boost killed the Nismo twin plate clutch, a new HKS 3-plate sintered version is swapped for the new challenge. The pressure bearing for that set up is custom made by Valtonen Motorsport.
The previously used Panta fuel was changed to VP Q16 fuel (120 oct).

Other additional goodies are the new carbon doors, boot lid, bonnet, front fenders, front bumper, mask and OEM style rear spoiler. The weight saving is going to be huge.
The new Cusco 1-way diff found it’s place at he front, so did the new 1.5-way LSD at the rear. This should help with the grip problems.

And like any hiperformance car – they should have in car entertainment. Period. The owner choose Alpines finest to keep him happy when the engine shoots it self to the million pieces – nice theory. He's comment was: "This way you’re always happy in you’re Skyline".

Here's the final Dyno sheet & figures. Pretty damn impressive!

733,9 kW (DIN kW) = 996,6 whp (DIN hp) = 982,97 whp (SAE hp).

Max Torque at the wheels
954,9 Nm (DIN Nm) = 703,54 lbf ft (Pound Feet) = 97,25 kgf m (Kilogram Meters).

Rallisprint - Nurmijärvi

Alien2nrs crew went to see some Rally Sprint action last sunday.
The Pakkauspojat Rallisprint was a national race. It was held at Karhunkorpi Industrial area. The track was all tarmac with plenty of chicanes and few long straights to get these beasts going. The organizer was Nurmijärven Urheiluautoilijat (NuUA), great track!

One big thing on Rallying is called "Ralli makkara"

New SQV arrived from RaceBreed.fi and is fitted to Impreza.
Assembly was very easy and it took only 20 minutes including BS
with Domo-kun.
Parts were high quality and all of them fitted perfectly.
Again one good reason to buy genuine parts and not fake ones.

Bee*R – Call of Duty

My friends from MDS called me bit over month a go to help out. They had a car show coming up in Easter and they didn’t have cars for the stand. So I stepped up the cry – 5 mins after closing the phone I realised I couldn’t take “the same car” in the show 2 years in a row. It needed a new look, something different. Right – the game was on.

New wheels, sourced as second hand. Bargain deal, but they still needed some new twist to stand out. I wanted semi-vip style and rat-look at the same time. Let’s call it Rat-Vip ;)

The new "pots" are 9,5x19 and 10x19 Work Euroline DH’s. Front ET is 0, rear ET -6. The rims were quite new, made in last year. Still wanted to give them a something, so a new paint to match the cars exterior and new ruff styled rim screws or spikes if you will. Now they look mean but classy.

Front lip is 3,5” and Rear lip 4,75” – Nice dish. Team Falken helped out with FK452 tires in 265/30/19 all around.

The new setup needed graphics as well, so I had few late nighters behind the Mac again. I wanted the car to be mean and brutal looking, so I ended up in a urban war theme – Full Metal Jacket.

I had 8 other project cars to finish to the show, so my car was the last of them. HC Graphics aka Henri (me) & Casper did it again – totally different look. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but do I really give a shit? Nope.

Bee*R gets full Zaino treatment

After removing the vinyl graphics from last seasons theme, it was time to give the exterior it’s shine back.

First I removed the graphics… 5 hours later it was ready for good wash with strong car shampoo to remove all that sticky dirt. Zaino Clay Bar (Z-18) is excellent for the asphalt tar stains.

After that we started with Zaino (Z-PC) Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner & Swirl Remover. This stage was done by machine.

Masked for machine polishing.

Next stage was done by hand, the Zaino (Z-AIO) ALL-IN-ONE cleaner polisher. It’s really easy to apply and remove.
Then we started the polishing stage. The Zaino (Z-2) PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finish was chosen. Three coats of Z-2 with ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive witch accelerate the drying process.

We alsso sealed each layer of the Z-2 to build as strong and deep shine as possible. The Zaino (Z-6) Ultra Clear Gloss Enhancer Spray and Zaino (Z-8) Grand Finale Spray Seal were used.
To top of the cake the Zaino (Z-CS) Clear Seal was applied, it’s easy to use. Just spray a thin mist on the surface, no wipe. It drys of leaving beautiful shine.

The 11 stage Zaino polishing session was done. It took a bit of time but it was well worht it.

So we live in Finland. In a land where winter is 8 months of year – it snows even during summer, hah.

During those long snowy winter months we hit our stupid heads together to create something seriously ill shit, like this.

In the belly of this satin black beast lies something truly insane…

How do you get 1033 horsepowers out of Nissan’s RB26DETT engine (yes, 2,6 liters)!?!

"– Well, hit the boost to 2,3 bar and a drop in a pair of Holset HY35 turbos."

To keep things happy inside the new power plant, a counterweighted and balanced R33 GT-R crank is the foundation of the bottom end. Also CP-pistons were added with Eagle H-beam conrods. Still running oem head bolts.
Upstairs has parts like, Tomei Poncams 282 with 12.8mm lift and Tomei cam pulleys. The other belts have Greddy pulleys. The Greddy plenum is feeding air to the head witch is fully ported by JR-Tehokansi. The 1,6 mm head gasket is by Tomei. To feed this beast, a Hestec Ecu is used (Tuned by Seppo Harinen), a heafty loads of boost is offered by Hestec boost controller. To keep juices flowing a set of two Walbro and two Bosch Motorsport 044 fuel pumps are used with 18 mm fuel lines. The Sard fuel rail with Aeromotive’s fuel pressure regulator will keep the 1000 cc MSD injectors happy. Sparks are delivered by Bosch Motorsport 034 ignition coils.

The 100 mm cooler has company of Koyo radiator, other coolers are custom jobbies as well, like the relocated Mocal oil cooler and totally removed/relocated water circulation. Oil and water are pushed with Nismo’s high performance pumps.
To handle all that torque – a 989,6 Nm to be exact, a Nismo Twin Plate clutch is barely taking it – it’s starting to slip so the boost is kept where is it at now.
Exahaust is a custom 4” job. With those monster Holset HY35’s, is a pair of Tial 60 mm wastegates and Tial blow-off valve.

The additional goodies are inside the cockpit. The Defi meters for water temp, intake temp and oil press. Greddy’s for boost, oil press, oil temp and egt. Vems wideband meters for both of the turbos. You might noticed that there were two oil press meters, well the oil press is metered at two different points.

To keep all the power on the track, a set of Mickey Thompson 275/40/17 street radials are used. For the street use (yes, this car has license plates) 275/30/20 TSW’s are under the arches.
Ride height is taken care by K-Sport suspension and the handling is improved by poly bushes all around. Safety cage is an improvement as well. The brakes are under upgrade at the moment – something big with loads of force to stop this beast.

Oh, yes and that Dyno sheet.

All measured with Inertia Dynamometer (at Special Tuning Harinen).

@ 2.3 bar (max 8800 rpm)
• 1033 hp (DIN) [759,77 kW] / 1018.85 hp (SAE) – Panta 115 oct fuel
• 989.6 Nm / 100.88 Kgf / 729.36 lbf

@ 1,95 bar
• 890 hp (DIN) [654.60 kW] / 877.83 hp (SAE) – Shell V-Power pump fuel.
• 820 Nm / 83.59 Kgf / 604.72 lbf

And for those thinking "one lucky dyno queen shoot"... the cars been on the dyno close to 50 runs - more than some drag cars can take. Every time pulling figures like this.

Nagoya Auto Trend 2009 - Show (aka NAT)

Kids Heart unveiled their latest creation at NAT’s. The M35 Stagea with R35 GT-R front & rear end conversion. The rear doors, quarters and fenders are also slightly flared. I bet Tsuyoshi Tezuka just hit the next gold mine with this conversion. He’s the manager at the Kids Heart which is car dealer in Aichi/Nagoya. Tezuka is the man behind Bee*R's B324R D1GP drifter as well. They have done a lot of conversions like this before, like the official Sileighty, Free Dom, etc.

Stance is so important that it can either make or break a car’s tasteful appearance whether they got the nicest paint job, nicest body kit, and/or even the nicest wheels. All that is nothing without a good stance. This is a very subjective topic, but I think we can all agree that if the wheels don’t fit right, it just ruins the car’s body flow.

The stance of the car simply consists of two things to work… dump and flush (no relations to toilets.) Lowering a car alone already improves the appearance of the car. It gets rid of that nasty wheel gap that should be left to off-road, dirt vehicles. Flushing the wheels is when you bring the wheels out as far as possible without having the top tire treads past the fender lip. This flushed look helps the body panels to continue the flow down to the wheels. It makes the car look more “whole”.

Of course, stance is a simple concept, but to achieve a good one, it involves quite a bit of homework. Lowering suspensions, camber, wheel size/offset, tire size/stretch, fender roll/pull, and other factors are needed for this to work, but this is another story as it can become very involving. There may also be negative effects such as premature wear of the tire, suspension components, and hazardous driving conditions depending on how extreme the stance is.
