Here are the ones I started last night. The yarn was dyed by me and I'm surprised by the effect as it is totally not what I was going for. The cable pattern is from Bäuerliches Stricken Book #2.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://suse.dentatec.com/images/Socken/Clownbarf/Clownbarf07-09-17a.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://suse.dentatec.com/images/Socken/Clownbarf/Clownbarf07-09-17a.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Here's a close-up of the cables, the colours are totally off though.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://suse.dentatec.com/images/Socken/Clownbarf/Clownbarf07-09-17a.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px;" src="http://suse.dentatec.com/images/Socken/Clownbarf/Clownbarf07-09-17b.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-347806860547534761?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>Susannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10257721677447628231noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-28507713113111829422007-09-09T09:34:00.000-07:002007-09-09T09:42:32.527-07:00Back in the saddle again! Wooo!I know you all probably think I forgot about this blog. Well, yeah I kinda did. I was looking around my blog to see what could be spruced up and saw this blog on my sidebar and said, "OOOPS!"<br />I'm sorry I haven't been contributing and from time to time I wonder if I should continue, what with my own blog and now, Ravelry.<br /><br />But for those that don't read our blogs or just want the sockness, here's to you:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ladybean73/1350925898/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1165/1350925898_68f361aedc.jpg" alt="Hedera feet" height="375" width="500" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATThedera.html">Hedera </a><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Stats</span>:<br />Pattern: <a href="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATThedera.html">Hedera </a><br />Yarn: <a href="http://knitpicks.com/">KnitPicks</a> Sock Memories in Paper Dolls(discontinued)<br />Needle: KnitPicks Options US1(2.25mm) on the Magic Loop<br />Start: 8/27/07<br />Finish: 9/6/07<br /><br />And now on the needles:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ladybean73/1350036797/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1243/1350036797_d2dbf09fd4.jpg" alt="Cabled sock" height="375" width="500" /></a><br /><a href="http://knitfreak.com/blog/free-patterns/cabled-socks/">Grey Cabled Socks</a><br /><br />Enjoy!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-2850771311311182942?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>LaBeanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16211058158341436488noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-60593113220807564482007-08-18T19:39:00.000-07:002007-08-18T19:52:56.587-07:00who doesn't heart smores?DD picked the Knit picks Memories yarn in the Smores ( her favorite treat) color way and the <a href="http://minnaproductions.blogspot.com/2005/08/hearts-and-stripes.html">lace heart sock pattern</a>. I have to make them a bit bigger then the pattern calls for and I am using smaller size needles... ( size 1 to be exact.) Also instead of the picots she wanted a rolled edge on top.<br />So here is the first one of DD customized lace heart socks on the needles just a wee bit past the heel:<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RsewTjX8KVI/AAAAAAAAA3w/t8YTiebdcxE/s1600-h/socks+004.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RsewTjX8KVI/AAAAAAAAA3w/t8YTiebdcxE/s320/socks+004.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5100238952980031826" border="0" /></a>What is everybody else knitting on?<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-6059311322080756448?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>spinndivahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08838175032652998436noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-48553896196640692732007-07-02T20:07:00.000-07:002007-07-02T20:23:40.683-07:00Lace-Cuff Anklets<span style="font-style: italic;">Pattern:</span> Lace -Cuff Anklets from "Favorite Socks"<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Yarn : </span>Panda Cotton (55% Bamboo,24%Cotton,21%elastic nylon) from Crystal Palace Yarns in red cinnamon<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Verdict :</span> Loved the Yarn! very nice to knit with! I got the Yarn with the kit from the Sock of the Month Club I joined. I would not have chosen this color for myself, but ended up loving it and probably will buy more in this colorway! It ended up being really nice and "spice " colored! Goes to show.. be more experimental! Sometimes it pays off!<br /> Pattern was ok..I changed the toe a bit, I decreased a bit more ( in the end every round) and then pulled the last 12 stitches together with the cut off end instead stopping sooner and kitchener the toe together... makes it a bit more round and lately I seem to like that better...<br /><br />The socks are for my DD, she picked the pattern.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RonAqgYH8OI/AAAAAAAAAvg/RECcVlmJz28/s1600-h/melina%27s+socks+005.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RonAqgYH8OI/AAAAAAAAAvg/RECcVlmJz28/s320/melina%27s+socks+005.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5082805490942472418" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RonArQYH8PI/AAAAAAAAAvo/z6sDDUgKkIE/s1600-h/melina%27s+socks+007.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/RonArQYH8PI/AAAAAAAAAvo/z6sDDUgKkIE/s320/melina%27s+socks+007.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5082805503827374322" border="0" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-4855389619664069273?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>spinndivahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08838175032652998436noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-12277025033587835532007-06-27T18:26:00.000-07:002007-06-27T18:42:25.707-07:00Cherryo!<div style="text-align: center;">Look ! That pair will be posted after Mothers' day.<br /><br />Here is the pair I can share.<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cmtigger/463435920/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/188/463435920_51b0c5f45c_m.jpg" width="240" height="180" alt="Bamboozle Socks" /></a><br />They are made from Crystal Palace's Bamboozle. It's basically just a worsted weight version of Panda Cotton. (I do have this same colorway on order in the Panda Cotton) They were a nice quick knit, and I used a baby sock pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks, and I didn't have to change much to have them fit, other than the yarn and needles.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-5142881934382493881?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>cmtiggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12841533634485068536noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-84764889837199092312007-04-09T08:42:00.000-07:002007-04-09T09:02:08.927-07:00Socks and SocksHere is a picture of my new puppy baby Sokrates... strategically named, so I can shorten it to ...SOCKS ;)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhpf-Lpmd0I/AAAAAAAAAT4/wX_ds-gh8Qg/s1600-h/puppy+005.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhpf-Lpmd0I/AAAAAAAAAT4/wX_ds-gh8Qg/s320/puppy+005.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051455453933238082" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Cascade in the Aruba collourway.with a horseshoe lace.( next big purchase: a new c<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhph1rpmd1I/AAAAAAAAAUA/wUMEzf1UfAs/s1600-h/weklysocks+011.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhph1rpmd1I/AAAAAAAAAUA/wUMEzf1UfAs/s320/weklysocks+011.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051457506927605586" border="0" /></a>amera, but I keep on spending the money on fiber...)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhph17pmd2I/AAAAAAAAAUI/jKHuaapBaqo/s1600-h/weklysocks+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhph17pmd2I/AAAAAAAAAUI/jKHuaapBaqo/s320/weklysocks+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051457511222572898" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhph17pmd2I/AAAAAAAAAUI/jKHuaapBaqo/s1600-h/weklysocks+003.jpg"><span class="on down" style="display: block;" id="formatbar_JustifyRight" title="Align Right" onmouseover="ButtonHoverOn(this);" onmouseout="ButtonHoverOff(this);" onmouseup="" onmousedown="CheckFormatting(event);FormatbarButton('richeditorframe', this, 12);ButtonMouseDown(this);"><img src="http://www2.blogger.com/img/gl.align.right.gif" alt="Align Right" border="0" /></span></a><br /></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />and the socktree in full bloom:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhpi47pmd3I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/G_IZNpjzo8Q/s1600-h/weklysocks+015.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_LfHj6flmGqQ/Rhpi47pmd3I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/G_IZNpjzo8Q/s320/weklysocks+015.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051458662273808242" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Blue stripes: Sassy stripes with heels and toes in leftover Zephyr<br />the other ones are Cascade Fixation in Sam ( loved knitting with it.. will do again!)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-8476488983719909231?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>spinndivahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08838175032652998436noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-42733490709489419742007-03-11T00:46:00.000-08:002007-03-11T23:20:17.678-07:00Finally some pictures takenI did not fall off earth, I was just too busy with work and never was home when the light was good for taking pictures. All inside pictures were plain crap, so I had to wait until yesterday when it was nice and sunny.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPDOTFwrtI/AAAAAAAAAAM/R3hT6mWZ63I/s1600-h/BFL07-03-10.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPDOTFwrtI/AAAAAAAAAAM/R3hT6mWZ63I/s320/BFL07-03-10.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5040587058367737554" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The first socks I finished are knit from my own handspun! It's from Blue Faced Leicester roving which was handdyed by Adrian from www.helloyarn.com. It was also the first time Navajo plying worked just fine.<br />They are knit on 3 mm needles, which made it a quick knit.<br /><br /><br />At the moment I'm also going to school most Fridays and Saturdays and need some lunchbreak knitting. What is better than socks for this? Right, nothing.<br />First I finished my Knittyboard SockPal exchange socks, which I can't show here right now because they have not reached their destination yet. Then I knit the socks shown in the picture above. The next pair were knit in Colinette Jitterbug in the Magenta colour. That yarn is horrible to take pictures of, the colour is never right.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPIVTFwruI/AAAAAAAAAAU/wWMFqfWq6ec/s1600-h/JitterbugMagenta07-03-10.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPIVTFwruI/AAAAAAAAAAU/wWMFqfWq6ec/s320/JitterbugMagenta07-03-10.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5040592676184960738" border="0" /></a><br /><br />And yes, the tiny bit of yarn was all that was left. I almost had heart palpitations when finishing the 2nd sock, as I was sure to run out of yarn. So everyone who has feet bigger than a EU38 or US 7.5, buy 2 skeins, as I didn't make the cuffs very long. I knit it with 2.5 mm needles which is just what it says on the inside of the ball band where the general sock instructions are. On the outside it says to use 3.25 mm needles. <br /><br />Now that those are finished too, I sure needed another pair. I could not resist the new Trekking Pro Natura yarn, which is 75% superwash wool and 25% bamboo. See what I'm knitting now.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPJeDFwrvI/AAAAAAAAAAc/DiNgtnvDOag/s1600-h/TrekkingPN160407-03-10.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ryE8BdiTb1c/RfPJeDFwrvI/AAAAAAAAAAc/DiNgtnvDOag/s320/TrekkingPN160407-03-10.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5040593926020443890" /></a><br /><br />I'll make sure to let you know how many socks I knit overall during my time at school. The jaywalkers are in Knitpicks now discontinued parade, done on 3.0mm needles, with a 15 stitch pattern repeat. The other pair are just plain old stockinette socks in trekking 132.<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/29/2313/1600/332369/paradesocks.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/29/2313/320/70026/paradesocks.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a> I'm going to attempt to get one more pair at least finished before the month is through. I have a plain old ribbed cuff pair in opal and the "childs first sock in miranda pattern" in lorna's laces OTN, both on the second socks.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-116941740086568780?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>cmtiggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12841533634485068536noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22623902.post-1168568617481881402007-01-11T18:18:00.000-08:002007-01-11T18:23:37.483-08:00POLLI have been wondering...<br />how many of us preferr toe up or cuff down...<br />Or<br />heelflap or short row?<br /><iframe src="http://polls.blogflux.com/poll.php?poll=6847&width=200&height=180&padding=5&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&borderwidth=1&bordercolor=%23000000&fontsize=12&graphcolor=%23d8d8d8&graphtextcolor=%23000000&doublespace=0&linkmap=1" width="212" height="192" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"><a href="http://polls.blogflux.com/poll-6847.html">Take the poll</a><br /><br /><a href="http://polls.blogflux.com/">Free Poll by Blog Flux</a></iframe><br /><br /><iframe src="http://polls.blogflux.com/poll.php?poll=6850&width=200&height=200&padding=5&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&borderwidth=1&bordercolor=%23000000&fontsize=12&graphcolor=%23d8d8d8&graphtextcolor=%23000000&doublespace=0&linkmap=1" width="212" height="212" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"><a href="http://polls.blogflux.com/poll-6850.html">Take the poll</a><br /><br /><a href="http://polls.blogflux.com/">Free Poll by Blog Flux</a></iframe><br /><br />Me? I am a cuff down girl( that's how I learned knitting sock, I tried toe up , but defaulted back to cuff down.. something about it just suits me better...) and short row all the way... I don't mind knitting the heelflap , but I like the short row heel fit better so I usually always knitt that , unless I am making socks for clogs and want something special on the heel....<br /><br />I thought it might be interesting to find out who knitts how and why...<br /><br />so have at it and tell us!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/22623902-116856861748188140?l=twelvesteppers.blogspot.com'/></div>spinndivahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08838175032652998436noreply@blogger.com2
