My teammate and I had both served churches for those 5 years in that community. We asked and received their blessing to begin this new ministry. We could have moved to a big city, to the burbs somewhere, but we knew the culture here, we understood the people here, we already had contacts and neighbors here. That has made a huge difference, in my opinion. I think, in many respects you're right - we are who we are. I don't see The Journey being much different if we were somewhere else, but I also think, I wouldn't be the person to lead it on the north shore of Chicago, or in Austin.
