I hadn't seen borage before, and was glad to figure out what it was, eventually. </div><div align="center"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SkZpSPnuxhI/AAAAAAAABpg/EaujfIfR9HU/s1600-h/butterfly+movies+and+flowers+002.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 248px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352080969328150034" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SkZpSPnuxhI/AAAAAAAABpg/EaujfIfR9HU/s400/butterfly+movies+and+flowers+002.jpg" /></a> It came back for a few years, and then I didn't see any more borage plants. It is an annual, and somehow must not have successfully reseeded. </div><div align="center">So, this spring I bought some seeds and planted some, thinking I'd like to have these pretty blue blooms - and they attract bees.<br />My <a href="http://www.thesassylime.com/">2nd child </a>has a veggie garden this year, too, and so I gave her some borage for her garden. For example, my lilacs are blooming now! Last year they had just begun to bud out. And the weeping cherry is all done, now. </div><div align="center">Other bloomers include a few tulips (that the deer/bunnies missed), phlox, rock cress, and the wisteria. The alliums are just starting to pop, I've spread them to a lot of new places.</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">These burgundy/pink pansies have been a fave of mine, still looking spectacular from last fall.</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzXMAohEnI/AAAAAAAABko/ntNFCyzho98/s1600-h/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+002.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335876259855536754" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzXMAohEnI/AAAAAAAABko/ntNFCyzho98/s400/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+002.jpg" /></a> The red bud tree is doing its thing -<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzW85m2IfI/AAAAAAAABkg/cMkOg10YEQc/s1600-h/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+086.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335876000271442418" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzW85m2IfI/AAAAAAAABkg/cMkOg10YEQc/s400/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+086.jpg" /></a> And this year I have 4 (no, 5!) lilacs instead of just three. Yipin-etly! One of my favorite smells is lilacs in the springtime.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzWteskanI/AAAAAAAABkY/VbzK-T0b06g/s1600-h/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+079.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335875735349652082" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UghxTA902cM/SgzWteskanI/AAAAAAAABkY/VbzK-T0b06g/s400/spencer+graduation+masters+and+spg+flowers+079.jpg" /></a> These star of Bethlehem are new to us this year, one of my DH's finds.. One of my daughters told me about it, and it really is funny. (or just another thing to waste time looking up on the 'net, depending on your POV)<br /><br />But worth checking out.
