I can't believe Deliverance was filmed there! I tried to watch that once and I had to turn it off. Then for weeks I was convinced that the banjo boy was on my porch watching me sleep. Imagine all the same drama, attitudes, social circles, but throw in some nasty junk yard dogs tied to 200 foot chains in front of not-on-a-level-surface-trailers and a toothless dentist in railroad coveralls and you have Cleveland....Did I mention Deliverance was Filmed here? And that they used many locals who are STILL here boasting about their role? Just checking... I hope this inspires you to take pity on me and watch Deliverance (not recommended) to see what hell I am living in.... We felt like we drove A TON in just 10 days.Amihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05612740302739047256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22470509.post-67052222273885713832008-08-10T16:05:00.000-08:002008-08-10T16:05:00.000-08:00OMG you just described our vacation/military move last year! we drove from WA to Georgia and took your SAME route.. down the oregon coast to look at the light houses! and down through Crater Lake and then Redwood NP and through Yosemite (before it was on fire) and over to the grand canyon and then white sands/caverns in NM (brief stop to see inlaws) and then onto my folks and then to yucky georgia (muggy here, I don't recommend it for vacation, this is the ONLY place I have lived that I haven't really loved)... i'll never forget that oregon coast line and the light houses... COOL... thanks for you pics!
