The Young Democrats July Unity Social will begin our efforts by combining troops in the common goal of working for coordinated campaign here in Virginia to help turn Virginia Blue. With the warm weather having arrived and summer just around the corner, we’ll have a more relaxed setting for our June monthly MRAYD meeting, Tuesday, June 10. We’ll meet at the Democratic Party of Virginia headquarters (1710 E. Franklin St) for a few business items—but only from 7pm to 7:30pm. Then we will go to the nearby Cafe Gutenberg (1700 E. Main St) starting at 7:30pm for a happy hour and social evening—please come join us!

Our guest speaker will be Delegate Frank Hall, who will talk about the upcoming special session, the 2008 elections, and his experiences as a YD. We will discuss local campaign activities, our plans to reach out to Young Democrats, and other Democratic news. Please come join us!

We also heard from Democratic Party of Virginia Treasurer Abbi Easter, who explained the rules on filing to be a delegate to Virginia's state and local Democratic conventions this year.
