Jesse, as a resident of Silverlake/Hollywood, and former temporary resident of Sherman Oaks in the Valley, I have to say I have a theory on the "loogie-hawking" (unsure of the definitive spelling of both of those). I believe it's people who smoke pot, just really smoke it allllll day long, and so they end up with this gross smokers' morning (and occasional afternoon) phlegm. A few of my neighbors and my friends' neighbors who have suffered this affliction have also been known pot-smokers. Don't feel sorry for him: he's not dying, he's just a stoner. (Or, actually, maybe he's both?)

Excellent podcast. It's as if you've brought together all my favorite disparate elements of past and previous TSOYA flavors into one show.

great show, I love the idea. i wouldn't have led with, nor gone so long on the lugie story, but I think people who know each other well and are both funny can make for very good "radio". Also works in sportscasting, too (why do they always stack strangers with strangers?).

Jesse, I will listen to this podcast to get the full extent of your dis on "Apples", but let me state preemptively that you are wrong, so wrong. You likely mean Apple computers or actual Apples. If it's computers, you're just jealous. If it is actual apples, then let me tell you, I once felt the same way, but my mouth has been opened. Since you live in LA, take a trip Wednesday to the downtown Santa Monica farmer's market, or find an actual farmer's market (you know, the kind with actual farmers). Try yourself a nice matte-finished pesticide/wax free Fuji apple, or whatever the farmer may recommend. You will find nearly none of the pitfalls that snare supermarket apples, I swear.
