Then I recorded the vocals over the instrumental mix. I did this because I had acidentally reformated the hard drive on my 8 track, and lost every thing I had recorded except for a few tapes I made of experimental mix downs, which wee primarilly instrumental.

The mixes were all kept on 100% OG maxell audio cassettes, so this gave the otherwise entirely digital recording a nice touch of analog warmth.

This song and Why Even Bother? are the only tracks left from those original sessions.

Marvin the Robothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03698652149074682343noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21890026.post-1139268305193477012006-02-06T15:19:00.000-08:002006-12-09T04:16:37.736-08:00Columbus Needs A Mountain
Give me a minute to put this post together, it regard a really magical compilation called Columbus Needs A Mountain. It was put together by Matt Moorman, with the goal of actaully sparking a campaign to build a mountain here in Columbus, OH. Truely unforgetable without years of therapy.

I played with a band featuring Brian Wagner on drums, Brady Burket on bass, and Sarah mehl on guitar. Brady crapped out before he even got there, and wagner, and Mehl weren't very far behind, the effect was that of a band kind of imploding, and then a blitzkreg of guitar and vox following it up. The highlight was watching Kevin Elliot vanish into the shadows somewhere between the destruction of the books and my imploding band.

Marvin the Robothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03698652149074682343noreply@blogger.com0
