"Kinderhook" on Encore E.B. in April

Encore E.B. in April includes clips from the first rock concert at what was then the "Community Beach" (before it was developed into "Crystal Springs"). Do you remember the "back lake"? Kinderhook is the band.Ken Schalhoub talks with people at the 1981 Middlesex County Fair. "Questions on the Street" queries residents about township proposals on the Wheelabrator Frye Garbage facility and the expansion of the Municipal Complex.

If you are thinking, "Wow - that's some old stuff!" you're right. Encore E.B. is a venue for the township's "home movies." The monthly show features archival video footage from 20-25 years ago. Watch the show and see how much things have changed - and how they've stayed the same.

History of Radio and TV

Host Mark Nonestied goes on location to the Library to see first-hand the early instruments and records of the industry.

Tiger Cubs Tour EBTV

Tiger Cub Scout Pack 132, Den 8 and Pack 54, Den 3 visited EBTV March 13 for a "behind-the-scenes" tour of the Studio and Control Room. EBTV is located in the East Brunswick Public Library, between the new Quiet Study and the meeting rooms.

Internet Safety

The Internet has opened up a world of information for every member of the family. But that window on the world comes with pitfalls and dangers, especially for the young.

EBTV will televise an informative presentation by East Brunswick Police Department Detective Kevin Zebro on how to keep your family safe at the computer. The hour-long program will be shown March 13-April 15 as follows: Tuesdays, 3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9 p.m.; and Sundays, 4 p.m.

Internet predators can pose a physical threat to the well-being of children who are unaware of the true identities of the people they “meet” in cyberspace. Detective Zebro will outline steps parents can take to take better control of the time their children spend online and reduce the chances of their being victimized.

Debby Alter, Director of Immigrant & Refugee Services for JFVS of Middlesex County is a guest on February's edition of Connections - a new monthly show highlighting programs and services offered by the East Brunswick Public Library. Debby speaks with Assistant Library Director, MaryEllen Firestone, about a "Citizenship Workshop" to be held March 14 at The Library.

If you want to skim through the slides faster than watching EBTV allows - or you want to hold a slide for a phone number - go online and click through the slides at your own pace.

Even if you are not a Comcast subscriber, you can now see the Community Bulletin Board in your home - internet access is the only requirement. And, if you submit announcements to the Bulletin Board, keep in mind that people in towns other than East Brunswick will now be able to view them, as well.

They were incumbents, Catherine Diem and David Stahl; and newcomer, Ed Luster. All three are Democrats, and bring the township governing body to an all-Democratic status.
