Mmm. And when you do try to rationalise feelings, you inevitably lose part of the magic of it. I wonder whether you would be able to express thoughts more appropriately if you were multilingual? French, German and other languages (especially European - those from a similar family of languages) would use similar words in a subtly different manner to how they are used in English. Just enough subtlety to allow the truly multilingual person to reach beyond the language barrier?

It was a pretty good book and more-or-less vintage Marquez... Have you read his work before? If yes, I think you'll enjoy it and if not, it might be a good book to start with because it's short ;-)
