My birthday!

Yes!

One more time, it's my birthday! It was the 29th time.

This time it was very special, Suny is on Barcelona (last birthday it was on Seoul, south Korea)

The 24th November, at 23:59 Suny was "reading" a book and me sleeping when suddenly Suny appear with a "donuts-cake-birthday"

Next day, just go to work and finish as soon as possible. After diner with my family and... Done!

After 4 month... I'm back!

Sorry for all my fans (I know I have many ) for this time without new post.

Well... I'm back to my blog for show the "Chestnut time" that we have right now in Catalonia.

Today we went to pick up some of them and it was very good experience! I never went before, just to pick up mushrooms... more or less the same.

Here the pictures:

Now I'm thinking how I'll cook the chestnut... like traditional Catalan method (a pan with many holes and on the fire) or boil ("Korean" technique)

Maybe both.

Work. This is the word that define what I'm doing all this time that I didn't write in my blog.

I've been started working in a new company, so I start a lot of new work operations.

One of my work that I'm proud is a small date base program with Access.

I created a small tools data base for user in my office. Commands, reports, billing...

Right now, just I have some time for me to write this few lines in my blog... my poor blog!!

Anyway! Everything is going on perfect. I miss writing more!

Week end... the perfect time for finish editing my pictures.
Last trip to Paris we made a lot pictures (me over than 400 ) but like I like editing and make HDR photos-... just I finish with 90 pictures.

I use a Canon 450D shoting in Raw format and editing with Lightroom, Photoshop (with LucisArt and Noiseware Pro). Photomatix Pro for the high dinamic range.

Visiting Paris

Hello readers!

Next week it'll be the birthday of Suny, so this last weekend we went to visit Paris for 4 days.

The weather was really cold, Friday was nice, but Saturday and Sunday was horrible! Saturday for example, we went to visit Torre Eiffel, take "some pictures" , visit Orsay Museum... etc. But the day was so cold, raining at beginning, and after snowing... Amazing!

I was "little bit" bad boy, because I lie saying that we'll go to Santalinya (my cottage) but finally we took a airplane... she couldn't believe!!

For me it was the second time that I visit Paris (the first was when I was 14year-old) but for Suny was the first time.

We visit the most important monuments: Arc de Triomf, Champs Elysée, Torre Eiffel, Louvre Museum, Orsay Museum, Opera du Paris, Notre Damme, Montmartre, Sacrée Cour...

I made 400 pictures, and now I'm editing and choosing the best; This week or the next you'll see the final pictures.

Three years writing!

One more year writing! it's seems unreal but it's true!

Three years ago I started writing in this "personal Blog"!

I don't know what to said, more than first year and second year I wrote it's this. This year I've been writing it was interesting, a lot things happen to me, and I tried to write them.

At beginning when I was in New York the blog had a meaning, and after that... the blog has follen slowly to the monotony. Just the 3 month that I spend in South Korea, the blog has "re-born"

I'll keep writing in my blog, anyway how much people read it, and how many visits I've. It's my way to keep in touch with other people. I found old old-friend thanks to the blog (Alex Pagés, for example) and lost family around the world.

I've happy to said: "I'VE A BLOG!"

Thank you readers, friends, family, lost surfers on internet and more people to visit my blog. Conciously or subconsciously you've made me feel better.

Live going on...

Hello friends! This month I'm "little bit" busy. But I'm still here!

This month with Suny we make all the papers for his job and visa residence: Social security, Register where she live, pay tax, pictures & photocopies... and looongssss lines waiting our number!

But it's done! 22 January we gift all the papers to goverment and in one month Suny will have the N.I.E. (Spanish ID for foreign people)

Two weeks ago I started my interviews for find a job. I've 3 interviews already and this week 2 more.

I've the hope to find a good job, it's true that isn't the best moment to find it (with the economic crisis) but seems good

After Christmas, Reyes and all the party (and lunch, dinners) Suny "need" a diet (she said that she need, but she is perfect...) so if she is on diet... so do I!

More gym, more swimming pool, more run on the belt, more sauna... more health.

Tomorrow will start a great week!

New Year 2009

After the Christmas, Sant Esteve and more lunch or dinner with the family, it was the New Year 2009.

At home we make a "Pintxos" competition with 8 friends.
Each one had to cook a special pintxo. Sandra/Oriol/Oti made a pintxo with Brie cheese, onion and apple. Toni/Silvia made a "foie pijo" with foie, sugar and quince. Dani~~'s Mothers~~ made several kind of canapé. Suny cook friend Mandu. And me, I made a pintxo with Cheese goat, sweet onion, grill steak and asparagus. You know who won?

After the grapes, we sing little bit and then, go out to enjoy the Barcelona's night. At 5 am we go back to sleep at house.

The 1th. January we went a Sant Boi de Lluçanes to prepare the Ski day. Next day (2Th. January) we went Sandra, Oriol, Suny and me to Vall de Nuria Ski station.

The day was very good, excellent snow, few people on the station... perfect!

The 2008 was amazing. without doubt.

I started this year feeling me empty and searching a apartment with some friends. One month later I meet again with a good friend, Jung Min and start cleaning my new house (the independence was possible!)

March was the trigger of many things, the best was visiting London with Suny, many pictures... and all change!

Ending March I talk about something that I never talk before, my own "problems" and who we paint the apartment (almost done!)

April started with feelings and fears, and the last step to live by my own.
One month later most of the same, more subliminal message (why not!) and one of the goals of 2008, life by myself!

June was... busy I couldn't write too much, just few post about work and the routine life. The weather was better and was time to Orxata and lunch in the terrace. Cheers!!

July.. Oh my god July... another big change in my life. I visited Seoul (South Korea) and Suny was there (post 1, post 2) and just go back to Barcelona... goodbye job. It was the chance to re-make my life. Everything change.

August, finally I'm happy! Suny visited to me in Barcelona, and some weeks after I decided to move to Seoul with her. I took my train! I prepared my suitcase.

September, October and November I lived in South Korea. Learning Korean language, visiting the country and enjoying the company.

December just adapt me again to Barcelona life, and preparing my new life.

Suny come to live with me in Barcelona!!

Korean Village

In Seoul you can see the newest technology, buildings and fashion. This country have a very deep history, and you can enjoy it visiting the different museums around the city.

The pictures that you can see here, is a "korean village" just in the center of Seoul. Right now I don't remember the name of this village, but it's easy to find it (if some reader know the name, please right a comment).
To come inside you have to pay 3.000w (1,65€) and you have all the signs in English.

No malware & Christmas

Finally today "God-google" has erase the "malware" label to my blog. After almost a month I can see my blog, clean of advise and red lights.

Today is 19th December, just 3 days before to Suny come to Spain!

Next week it'll be very intense:

Monday: Suny in Barcelona!!
Tuesday: Blood test and dinner with my father (they'll meet Suny first time)
Wednesday: Lunch and Dinner, it's Christmas eve!
Thursday: Christmas, dinner with my father (and his family) and dinner with my family
Friday: St. Stephen's Day (Sant Esteve) important holiday in Catalonia
Saturday: Relax... too many dinner and lunch... some diet, please!!
Sunday: Lunch with Trochut family

I wish Suny won't afraid about the family lunch and dinner... just it's one week at year, to see the family, exchange presents, eat food (a lot food ) and "enjoy" the ~~consumist~~ christmas feeling.

Malware

One week ago, "God-Google" has assign my personal blog like Malware web site.

My surprise was last week, trying to read my blog. I use Firefox, so when google tag a web site like malware or something bad... Firefox warn you:

They recommend to contact with google, so the same day that I detected this problem I went to Google Webmaster tool and send a request to google to "reconsider" my blog.

This is why I didn't write anything until I go back to Seoul

I wish as soon as possible fix the problem, because I've many things to show you!!

In Barcelona again

Three month have been past, and again I'm in Barcelona.

Three month it's not a long time, but not too short. Right now I've to clean all my cloth and re-organize (again) my room.

Also I've to start making interviews, I want work ASAP (if is better after Christmas holidays ), I have some contact, so I'll visit my friends, to see if they have something interesting.

In other hand, is search apartment. With the actual economy position, is a good time to rent a house.

And of course, I want to visit all my friends who I left in Barcelona to live in Seoul. My family, my friends... I'll not bored!

Ah! I've to start thinking about the Christmas gift! This year it will be very special and new!!

Korean traditions

Hello friends! After 4 days in Jeju Island, I'm back to Seoul. It's the last week in South Korea because next 27th November I'm going back to Barcelona.

Last week I posted some pictures that I took in a studio. So now I'll show you the rest of the pictures.

In South Korea have a "tradition" to wear and gift some present to your boyfriend/girlfriend. The couple T-shirt, couple ring, couple underwear (wow ) and more items...
The "couple shoes" it's not a good idea to gift to your partner, because it's mean "I want break up" "I want to go by my own way"... interesting, doesn't it?

Usually this gift they gift when the couple have 100 days together, 200, 300... in Europe we're more simple, just a gift when is a year.

Other tradition is take picture of the couple. not the simply picture, no no... studio pictures! I don't really understand this phenomenon, but seeing the Korean society it's very "Consumer society"

Anyway, like we said in Spain "Allá donde fueras, haz lo que vieras" (whatever you go, do the think you see) so if they take a couple picture... let's take couple pictures!

In the pictures you can see me wearing a traditional dress call Hanbok (한복) very nice costume very popular here, with many colors and beautiful ornaments.

Next time, and once in Barcelona I'll take a pictures with Suny wearing the traditional Catalan costume, like a nice "Pubilla"

Tuesday I went with Suny to a photographic Korean weeding session. A friend couple who will married next month was making her album.

Right now I don't have time to write a lot about this, so just I show you some pictures that I make yesterday in our "Studio Session". We took my camera and we make some funny pictures.

Korean Sauna

Korean Sauna or Jjimjilbang ( 찜질방) is one of the "Must to do" in South Korea. This sauna is not the same "Sauna" that we know in Spain
The sauna is open 24h and have many services inside: Shower, spa, massage, different temperatures sauna, Restaurants, video games, sleep room (where you can stay all night, very useful if you don't have hotel to sleep), cold sauna, gym... all this service at the price to 15.000w (+/- 10€)!!!

In Korean tradition, sauna is one point who everybody go. Relax and sweat!

When you come inside the sauna, you have two ways: one for the mans and other for womes. In the changing room first of all you have to undress completely, then take a shower and relax in the different spas.
Once you've taken the shower, you have to wear the special sauna cloth (usually blue for men, and pink for woman) and then you can go to communal area.

In this big area is where are the sauna, usually 4 minimum saunas (each one with several temperatures) The habit to the sauna is go inside the sauna (usually at 77ºC) and stay 15 min. then go out, drink some liquid (usually sweet nut water) and go inside again... repeat all this 4 times!!

In Chinhae (진해시) I went with the family of the Suny to Sauna, a very good sauna. Here you can see the pictures:

In the pictures you can see me (and also Suny, moter, sister's Suny) with a black mask make with charcoal (the same wood charcoal that was burn to warm the sauna) Also you can see the "Korean fashion hat" at the style to Leia Organa in Star wars

After paint the face with charcoal (I don't know if is good or not) the boss of the sauna (the same who paint the face) speak about the benefits of this product, see the movie to know more (if you understand Korean )

In short, if you visit South Korea you must go to Sauna, it'll be very good experience!

Chinhae Market

Chinhae ( 진해시) is a small city in South Gyeongsang Province (South Korea) where last week I visited.

The city is in the coast, so the fish and food is very fresh. One day I had the chance to visit her market (who happen once each 5 days)

I really like this kind of market, where the sellers talk and make a deal with the buyers face to face.
In the market you can found many kind of food, usually all of them are cultivated (or make) by the same seller:Vegetable, eggs, persimmon, dry fish, fresh fish, kimchee, rice, shoes, candies...

One of the thinks that impact on my was the hygiene; I use to see the market place (specially the fresh fish shops) in very good conditions... here, most of the sellers put the food on the ground, they cut the food whatever they can... interesting! maybe "more dirty, more delicious"

A lot colors, tastes, smells, textures... very attractive to the senses.

Hello readers! After more than a week traveling in South Korea, I go back to Seoul again.

I went with Suny and family to the south of south Korea (Masan, Ulsan, Busan, Chinhea, Chinwon...)

I make hundreds of pictures, but I couldn't transfer to my computer.

By the way, I attach in this post a traditional food: Raw octopus!!

I'll try to make this is Barcelona, but I think it'll difficult to find a alive octopus.
