Don't waste your money on unwanted or junk gifts.

Yes - there are out there and with $3 a gallon gas and rising mortgage payments, the idea of throw away gifts seems a little crazy.

So how do you make sure that your gift doesn't fall into the the re-gift, never used or donated pile? Well follow the gift check list.

Gifts in Need get Used - They may not be the most glamorous gifts or cause yelling and screaming when opened, but gifts that fill a real need and can help fill or meet a real demand and are remembered.

- You get tips on these type of gifts in daily conversion or just by paying attention. (like - the garbage disposal broke, the dryer is not working, I need something painted, the kids wear clothes that are to small, or the clothes have holes, etc...)
Sometimes these gifts cost money, but sometimes it is the gift of help (2 babysitting coupons, offering to paint a room, help install insulation, cut firewood, fix things, clothing, etc...) that can really touch a person.

Sometimes gift cards are best for this type of gift as you can't get the wrong one if they choose it.

I just blogged about investing in yourself and realized that is what I did a year ago when I started Nutrisystem.

There are so many reasons not to do this and yet the best gift I have given myself over the last year has been health and fitness and Nutrisystem plauyed a role in that.

Yes I will show a before and after photo - yikes! Yes my before and after photos are scary for me to post, but it is me.

So you have thought about weight loss and Nutrisystem and are not sure whether to pull the trigger and invest in yourself.

Well I will give you my thoughts.

What you need to know before you buy Nutrisystem
1. The food tastes poor to fair
2. Nutrisystem is a means to weight loss success
3. You need to follow the program for the first month (don't bail)
4. You will be hungry at times and know that it is ok
5. It helps to do cardio and physical activity to burn calories and fat
6. You will need to buy some foods like fruits/veggies
7. Take a before photo and write down why you are doing this (read it every night - during the first month)

Nutrisystem has a great online support system that is really helpful.
You can push back orders if needed.

It has been a year and people ask do you still eat Nutristystem and work out and the answer is yes.

I eat Nurtrisystem 60% of the time and work out and do cardio 4 - 5 times a week. I am happy and know that if you want it bad enough you to can reach your goal.

So if this is your goal - give a great gift to yourself.
