Here in New Mexico, it has been dry, very dry. We have been in a drought for the past several years. The last two years, everyone thought that the drought was coming to an end. We were blessed with a lot of mountain snow and rain. So the water ran freely. This past summer and fall turned dry once again and, no moisture. One gets to think that perhaps God has forgotten about us. We hear of the wild fires burning up thousands of acres in bordering states and the devastating stories of people loosing their homes and we wonder if God has forgotten about us. Do you see how we let ourselves be deceived?
One minute we are up and the next we are down. In the process we need someone to blame…so we blame God. After all, we reason, God ‘can’t be seen’…we don’t even know if He exists.
As Christians, we really aren’t any different. We tend to believe ‘in’ God on Sunday and forget about Him during the week. Then comes Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting and we are once again ‘on-fire’ for Him. Up….and ….Down.
This brings to mind the account of Jesus walking with the disciples from Bethany to Jerusalem. He was hungry and from a distance saw a fig tree that had many leaves on it. As He approached the tree He found nothing but…leaves. No fruit. Jesus cursed that tree saying, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” His disciples heard His remark. {Mark 11:14}
The next day as they passed by that fig tree, they saw that it had dried up and withered away from its roots. The disciples were astonished at how rapidly the tree that had been cursed by the Lord had begun to disintegrate. When Peter mentioned this to Jesus, Jesus answered them saying, “Have FAITH in GOD”. Jesus was telling His disciples to have the God Kind of Faith.
What FAITH do you have? For All I Trust Him. I want that kind of FAITH all the time. To trust Him for ALL that I think, say and do. For every step I take….not just on Sunday and Wednesday, but every day.
I trust God that He is in control of all circumstances in our lives and on this earth.
Romans 8:28 says, “…ALL things work together for good…” I’m not taking that verse out of context….read it for your self.
Last night we did get some moisture in the form of snow…about 2”. God is in control and He is in the business of answering prayer. BUT…when you pray…”let him ask in faith, with no doubting…” {James 1:6}
Ask in faith, without doubting that God take control of your life today. Submit to Him and let Him be Lord of your life and watch as God Answers your Prayers.Pastor Jerry Knasinskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051185738216791657noreply@blogger.com
