Is it that time already?

I facebooked with someone yesterday that was once very special to me. Isn't it odd how they can recall things about us that we have so long forgotten? The strangest thing is its been probably 17 years since I last saw this individual face to face. And you wanna know what he told me?

It's our high school reunion coming up.

Then...I did the math. My Grade 10 math teacher would be so proud (...loved the course so much I took it twice!) ROFL

...and the sadest part is this.....I graduated from highschool in 1987.

That makes it 20 years ago.

Just a quick post this morning to thank all of those who have and continue to support TLC Services. As my summer holiday's begin, I am so happy and grateful to have the time to recharge my batteries. I look forward to seeing everyone again come the fall.

Until then, enjoy August and the opportunity to explore a personal practice.

While yoga is done often in groups, the main goal is to help you find balance. It is also to allow you to connect mind, body and spirit; this can only be accomplished alone. Take the time to watch your breath, connect with your spirit (through meditation or yoga) and most of all the time out to celebrate your relationship with self.

One City, One Center

I think the City of Cambridge has lost its mind!

First it was the grand new City Hall building which we did NOT need.

This morning as I went into a convenience store around the corner from my home, I see a petition on the counter.

"What's this for?"

It was titled, "One City, One Center."

It turns out someone's brilliant idea at City counsel is to put all of the existing Senior's Center's into one. I'm so freaking ticked off about the whole thing. What are they thinking?

Seniors will have to take buses to get to this new center....how does that make things easier for them?

The things are now are fine.

City counsel has more money than brains! That much is obvious!

How about repairing some of our roads instead of wasting money building a new building we do not need.

ARGH!!!

If you see a petition PLEASE sign it! And send letter's to local counsel, the Mayor and the Cambridge Times. We are in this together people. I trust I'm not alone in thinking this!

Getting to know you

Isn't it odd how other people have totally different opinions about us than we have? This past weekend I ran into someone I've known for ions. They were around me mostly when I was a crazy teenager. It was great to see them really and during our conversation they said to me, "You never took the time to get to know me."

Maybe there is a portion of truth in it. But I I do know them, in my mind anyhow, I'd thought I had taken the time.

A few weeks ago someone else said pretty much the same thing to me.

Both were male.

Maybe its just me, or maybe its the Men are from Mar's, Women are from Venus scenario.

Regardless, I find it peculiar.

Yet, then again, I could probably say the same thing to them, couldn't I?

Law of attraction or intuition? You decide.....

I think I saw the law of attraction alive and well at the grocery store again today! Turned out Lyle had a night out with the boys at work which is a) totally odd...he never does anything like this, but b) a going away party for his boss who is moving out west. If truth be told I was happy he was doing something like that. He normally is a total home body (which has both postive and negative aspects to it).

Sorry, off topic.....right, grocery store....

So, I decided as I was having supper alone to go and buy a pre-BBQ'd chicken. With all of this heat, I'll admit I've been feeling rather lazy.

Anyhow...chica packs the chicken in a bag and double ties it saying, "Good, that should be good and tight now the lid won't fall off."

I nodded.

An older lady behind me had a chicken as well. She went to place the package on the conveyor belt when the chicken fell on the floor, juice falling all over the place!

I turned to the packager and said, "So, was that your intuition talking?"

She nodded albeit knowingly.

"Is there a mess all over the floor?"

I nodded back.

The more I thought about it afterwards I had to wonder...was that Law of Attraction or intuition?

I think we all know the answer to that! LOL

I wanted to give you a heads up on a few changes up and coming....

Please look at the latest scheduling changes for the month of July. There have been some changes since the newsletter was mailed out. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Also, I've had inquiries about whether or not the ebook How to Be Soul Strong; a user's guide to life on planet earth is available in offline form. Currently Clickbank is taking care of sales. Way too close

As some of you know this past week I had the most disturbing phone call from my sister-in-law. My baby brother (who before you ask thank god is OK & home now) was hit by an SUV which was in a highspeed chase with the cops.

The SUV that hit him was stolen by a group of thugs who are known by police.

Without getting into all of the details of the accident, the car my brother was driving is a total write-off. When it was obvious the SUV was going to hit him, the driver did not slow down but rather sped up intending to plough through him.

Police say the four thugs (2 age 17 & 2 age 18) will most likely be out of prision by the end of the week.

All I know is something has to be done. This is getting crazy and way too close to home.

More importantly, my baby brother is alive & made a good driving decision which saved his life.

This sure reminds you to live each and every day to its fullest.

Love those around you passionately as you never know when they won't be there anymore.

For the birds

I'm sure there's a message in this for me somewhere although I'll admit, I've yet to discover the link. Turns out there isn't something in the attic afterall, but a bird's nest in the roofing vent. We had someone come by and quote us $300 to remove them. We decided to leave them and allow the mama bird to teach her babies how to fly and let them leave on their own accord before replacing the vent.

I'd feel badly if the Mama bird couldn't find her babies.

It's been a Spring all about the birds.

My sister-in-law gave me a bird bath which is being used by many robins. Surprisingly enough I'm truly enjoying watching them flitter into and out of the water.

And when my Mom was cleaning the cottage she came across a hummingbird feeder that used to be my Grandmother's. I've filled it too and am enjoying watching the little birds of joy on their fly by visits. There is some comfort in the idea that out there somewhere Grandma is looking down and happy the feeder is being used.

Maybe the message is taking comfort in learning how to spread my own wings?

There has been some interest in when my next workshop will be. I wish I could say it will be tommorrow. There's a good chance it won't be until the Fall session.

I've spent much of the year so far working toward the completion of my e-book, How to be Soul Strong. I'm very close to going live with it. There has been a learning curve; getting to know my new hosting site and creating space to work on it which is a whole other story.

For others that may be wondering, I've also yet to complete the CD's I promised in the previous newsletter. Look for the CD's to be available early summer.

PS. There's something living in my attic. I think its birds. They are quite loud. I'm going to have to hire someone to go up there, as that is not a job for me!

Why ask Why

I'm often asked by people why things are the way they are in their lives. Why did they attract a certain situation into their lives? Why they are still working at a job they dislike? Why they haven't created the success or achieved a goal by a specific time?

Yesterday I found the answer.

In Bob Proctor's book You were Born Rich he explains the reason behind this is we love these things.

Are you thinking, HUH?

I do NOT!

But the truth is that love is a vibration. If things are not going as planned it is because you are in the same vibrational frequency as the thing you have attracted.

So, if you want to change the thing (whatever it is) change your vibration. Allow yourself to be open to receive the higher vibration.

It's like I explained to students this week. Allow whatever is reverberating in your life to be received into your body. The bij or seed sound of the heart chakra is yam. It is pronounced YUM.

So allow yourself to be open to lots of yummy-ness!

Perspective

The other day my neighbour whose property backs onto ours came into my driveway. I've not really talked to this woman much. In fact, we've only spoken 2 or 3 times in 6 years; mostly because we never see one another.

She said her husband didn't want her to ask, but she was going to anyhow.

There is a 30 foot evergreen in our backyard. She mentioned how much she loves the tree and wants to see it live. Then she said there's a maple trying to grow into it and eventually one of them would die; survival of the fittest.

From our perspective the evergreen looks stellar. We can't even see the maple behind it.

I told her to go ahead and cut the maple down if she so wished.

Its odd how perspectives can be totally different.

And....

How odd city living can be.

It's a clear message really.

If you want to know something just ask!

Chances are the other person may not even know....or when the light bulb is shone onto the situation it can change everything.

I saw Jimmy Buffet in Toronto over 10 years ago. It was fantastic and he still is one of my most favourite artists. I guess I'm admitting to the world I am a parrothead! LOL Today is so gorgeous it reminds me of that day.

Neural Pathways - why you should keep doing yoga

I listened to The Master's of The Secret lecture series today the interview between James Ray and Bill Harris. It was equally enlightening the 10th time through. Funny how you pick up different things from it each time you listen.

I loved James' explaination of the creation of neural pathways. If you haven't heard it he was speaking about the pathways with this explaination (albeit from memory and not exact)

"It's like cutting your way through a jungle. The first time through you would use a machete and cut your path. The second time through the path would be a little more clear. Each time, it would grow easier and easier to trek. But what happens if you didn't go back to that path? Obviously it would grow over again."

Thought provoking stuff.

A Millionaire Mind

I must tell you I'm still on a high from the seminar on the weekend. And oddly enough ...T. Harv Eker author of The Millionaire Mind (who I knew nothing about at all...I must admit) was awesome. I really enjoyed this guy!

I'll also admit he spent a lot of time yelling at us, but it was all good. It really pushed us to think of what we are currently doing and what it is we could do differently if we truly wish to see changes occur.

Glad I'm older now, in my younger years I wouldn't have listened to a word he said!

He also challenged us to go an entire 7 days without complaining once. I'll also admit I complained today for the first time.

I can't revisit what it was about without offering it more energy. Yet the fact remains I did. I don't consider it failure. One complaint since this past Saturday is pretty good if you ask me!

I challenge you to do it as well! For 7 days...no complaining.

I'd love to hear how it goes.

Only one word...

...can truly describe the Power within seminar I attended featuring The Secret teachers (in order of appearance): Lisa Nichols, Jack Canfield, T. Harv Eker (not in The Secret I don't believe but should have been), John Assaraf and Bob Proctor....and that word is

EXCEPTIONAL!

I loved each and every moment of it.

I met each one of them and hugged Jack Canfield. I would have hugged them all, to transfuse my energy with theirs if it weren't for the table in front of us.

There was even a Secret treat David Schirmer and his wife were in Toronto and popped into see their friends. What was funny is he was on the escalator going down while we were going up. I knew I knew him from somewhere.

This often happens to me as I have a long list of places I have lived over the years and sometimes get people mixed up from different cities.

Eventually and after running into him again later in the day, I realized he was the "visualize car parks" + the "gets more cheques than bills in the mail" guy from The Secret!

All in all it was totally amazing.

I will be sharing portions of my experience with you in class over the next few weeks. This information is far too good to keep to myself!

I'm about to loose control and I think I like it....oohhh yeah...

Only 5 more sleeps to go before I get to see The Secret Teachers in Toronto. I'm so excited I can't even tell you! Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor, John Assaraf and Lisa Nichols of the film will be presenting. The lecture series runs from 9-5.
