The important thing is that I am writing again.
Over the past year you have grown up so fast. Talking, toilet trained, sleeping in a big girl bed - it all means you are now a little girl and not a toddler anymore.
You have a wonderful sense of humor and love to be on the go. Your favorite thing to do with mommy is go shopping at Save-On-Foods.
We have wonderful times together - I took you shopping for clothes for your 3rd birthday and we had so much fun. Just before Christmas you and GG made cookies and baking is one thing you love to do. Nana and Mommy make wedding cakes and birthday cakes - you have to be right in there doing it all with us.
Aria Jaye and you are best of friends - act like sisters - fighting over everything. We now have to buy two of everything so no one is left out.
Uncle Brock is a very special person in your life - you love each other more than anything. You play and do silly things.
Trying to catch up on all the things that have happened over the year is very hard, because there are so many things that have happened and Nana just can't remember them all. But, I will continue to write on a continual basis from now on, we don't want to loose anything of your life growing up.
By for now EmmyD

Love NanaLesleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-53010068887328331032007-01-13T18:02:00.001-08:002007-01-13T18:02:44.319-08:00test from Lesleytest postLesleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138298694760434852006-01-26T09:58:00.000-08:002006-01-26T10:14:41.326-08:00Jan 15, 2006Dear Emma

I haven’t entered for awhile so here are the updates! The 7th of January Mom and Dad had a birthday party for you with all your friends. You had so much fun opening your presents and playing. You are a big girl now!

Last night Mom and Dad put up your new “Big Girl” bed and you slept all night without even trying to get out. It looks so cute in your bedroom, and makes me feel a little sad cause your not Nana’s baby anymore but Nana’s big girl!

After your bath tonight you told Mommy you wanted to sit on the potty and then you went Poop for the first time! Dora phoned and congratulated you on your job and what a big girl you are now!

Love Nana
Seannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138298293118889332006-01-26T09:54:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:58:13.120-08:00Dec 26, 2005Dear Emma

Well another Christmas has come and gone. I was so entertained by you on Christmas morning. You were fascinated that someone would give you a parcel – you tore off the paper and it’s a toy! Another parcel, another toy! You caught on to that concept pretty quickly! Santa was very good to you, all of what you asked for he brought you. Your Barbie, Dora, Dora’s backpack (backaack), a tea set, and all the little people you could ever want. Books, clothes and more toys! You had a long day but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Today Uncle Jeremy and your little cousin Jaylen came to visit you – you were quite amused by him. He is just 6 months old and a real little sweetie.

Love Nana
Seannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138298085888532042006-01-26T09:49:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:54:45.890-08:00Dec 17, 2005Dear Emma

It's countdown to Christmas – one week to go! I read you the “Night Before Christmas” and you were so cute listening to me read. You’re Mom and I giggled when you called the reindeer “sheep”! You keep asking for Dora and her backpack and Barbie for Christmas, we will see what Santa brings.

Mom and Dad took you to look at Santa today but you didn’t want to sit on his lap. Oh well, its all a little overwhelming when you're not even 2 years old. You know not to touch the Christmas tree and you let Mom know when Calvin has knocked off another ornament. You know just to touch with one finger and say, "Pretty." You’re talking so much more and trying saying everything and you’re doing very well!

Love Nana
Seannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138297736161059932006-01-26T09:46:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:48:56.163-08:00Nov 27, 2005Dear Emma

It's been a while since I wrote in the diary. Mommy tells me today that you have discovered that you can now open doors! You will keep everyone hopping now that you are so clever. A little parrot you are now too repeating the last word of what everyone says. We all have to be careful of what we say and how we say it. Your favorite character is “Dora the Explorer” and you told your mom the other day that Dora had an “Akaack” and she could not figure out what you meant but she soon figured out that it was Dora’s backpack that you were talking about. Mommy and Nana are taking a cake decorating course and you sure know what a cake is and what birthdays are now too. You get so excited! Soon we will be taking you to see Santa that will be so much fun.

Love Nana
Seannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138297586536192762006-01-26T09:44:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:46:26.536-08:00Nov 7, 2005Dear Emma

The number one word for you these days is “NO”. You melt down at the funniest things. For some reason you get weepy when Dad puts the camera on video onto the TV when you wake up from your afternoon nap. Oh, just growing pains I guess. You’re still the cutest little thing and I love you very much!

Can’t wait for Christmas – you will be so much fun

Love NanaSeannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138297472448539662006-01-26T09:42:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:44:32.450-08:00Oct 31, 2005Dear Emma

Halloween and your costume was a fairy princess. You looked so sweet! You were amazed that when you knocked on a door someone gave you candy!

After trick or treating Nana gave you a bath – and we laughed and laughed!! (Linguini with prawns scallops and salmon – in a very rich 4 cheese white sauce with roasted garlic and peppers). Wonderful dinner if I say so myself.

You were so excited you kept clapping your hands and saying “Happy” cause you wanted to sing the Happy Birthday Song.

Love Nana
P.S. We went for your first hay ride today. We were towed by a big tractor down a long trail to a pumpkin patch where you picked your first pumpkin. You are spending your first sleep over at my house. GG joined us for dinner and during dessert, when you finished your ice cream, you tried licking your bowl and I said no, not to do that – but the look you gave me was sooooo funny so I started to laugh and laugh and laugh. But, you thought I was crying and before too long you started to cry – I picked you up and you gave me a big kiss and hug to make me feel better. You are so cute. Then we called Mommy and Daddy for you to say goodnight. We also called Uncle Brock. He giggled and laughed because he had never talked to you on the phone. You are just too cute.

Love NanaSeannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138296135184623202006-01-26T09:21:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:22:40.670-08:00Sep 15, 2005Dear Emma

You surprise me every day. Your favorite station on TV is all day cartoons and programs just for you. The Backyardigans and the Big Comfy Couch to name a couple.

Your words are getting clearer, you talk back to Nana on the phone. And your favorite toy is the plastic shopping cart I bought you at Toys R Us. You got it home and started pushing it around and loading it up with food out of the pantry. Mommy said that you were pushing it around with your cell phone in your ear. Then another day you had your purse. You don’t miss a beat – you notice everything.

Its Aria’s first birthday on Saturday and Mommy is making her cake. A very trendy brown and pink cake!!

Love NanaSeannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138295652715945442006-01-26T09:11:00.000-08:002006-01-26T09:14:12.716-08:00Sep 2, 2005
Dear Emma

Tonight you said your first sentence, with a little help from Mommy, “Unca Bock – pease buy me a ise (Uncle Brock please buy me a slide). You put your little hand into Daddy’s briefcase where he keeps all his tools for working on computers. It all happened so fast – you picked up these wirecutters and, before we knew it, you had really cut your finger badly – length wise from just above the knuckle, over the the top and down. Oh boy, but luck was with us when we saw the X-rays that you hadn’t done any damage to the bone. You were a little trooper and let the hospital staff work on your finger, while saying, "ALLL DONE!" because you wanted them to finish fixing your finger. Daddy was with you but I had to keep Mommy busy for a bit. I have never seen Mommy shake so much. She was so worried and upset. Dad was too and Nana was shaking also. What an awful experience!

The nurse gave you some medication which made you quite dopey. You spoke rather well being a little stoned! You slept through the night and then this morning when I talked to Dad you were playing with your toys.
You amaze me little one! So when I am out today I will get you your favorite bubble gum ice cream. I think it's to make me feel better! I thank God that everything is fine and your finger will heal. Hopefully that’s the last trip to the hospital.

Love Nana
Seannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138294513306719182006-01-26T08:54:00.000-08:002006-01-26T08:55:13.306-08:00Aug 3, 2005Dear Emma

You dancing fool you. Rhythym and beat is what you have. The other day mommy was giving me a pedicure and you just had to help. You spent the afternoon with Grandpa at the beach and then he took you for ice cream! Mommy said you had a great time.

Your cousins are getting bigger – Aria is crawling, and the twins are doing very well.
What more can I say? You are trying to talk and the cutest thing of all is how you stop whenever there is music playing, and you dance. You have a smile on your face all the time and love to go out and see people. Soon we will have you potty training – what fun!

Love NanaSeannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21237739.post-1138294319757588702006-01-26T08:49:00.000-08:002006-01-26T08:51:59.756-08:00Jul 13, 2005Dear Emma

You have just spent a weeks holiday with your Mom and Dad – Grandma and Grandma Cathy. You flew to Winnipeg then off to Winkler Manitoba where you met all your relations at a family reunion. You're due home tonight and I can’t wait to hear all about your trip. You have learned the ½ summer sault. Your speaking words – Nana, Mama, DaDa, Aria, Boc (Brock). Puppy says wuf wuf – kitty says “ow”, and the bear says “grrrrrr”. You can now sign the words for shopping and love it! You lay back in your little rocking chair and watch the news in the morning. You smile and giggle and study everyone before you smile. You hug and kiss and blow kisses goodbye. What can I say – you are growing up so fast. Wherever we take you – you're as good as gold.

Love NanaSeannoreply@blogger.com
