Where to start? <br /> <br />The big news is that we have a new president for our denomination, the Rev. Peter Morales, the first Latino president of our denomination. Very exciting, eh? <br /> <br />It is a bit disappointing that we did not elect our first woman president, and that his winning means that the Rev. Laural Hallman must come up with another plan. That's sad for her - she was so engaged with this endeavor. <br /> <br />The other big news is a new campaign for public witness and advocacy that we're launching. It is open to secular folks as well as to people of other denominations. It's called "Standing on the Side of Love," and you can learn more about it at <a href="http://www.standingonthesideoflove.org/" target="_blank">http://www.standingonthesideoflove.org/</a>. <br /> <br />At this website you can sign up to receive updates, make donations, and also buy t-shirts and other great merchandise whose proceeds support the campaign. <br /> <br />It was nice to be there and is great to be home, yucky weather and all. I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday; then I'll be away for a few weeks on vacation.
