Still not sure where we are going but it will work itself out. I did get to go out after work this weekend to knit and drank coffee, though somehow I've managed to misplace some vital personal property in the process. It stormed sat but we were cool and dry at our fav sbux ~ and yesterday we went to that little coffeeshop we visited last week. I tried Buckingham Palace loose tea ~ it was very good too. ;)<br /><br /></div><div align="justify">Well, off to work on the B2S some more, watch my shows on PBS and may even watch an old movie. I've been knitting on B2S and its coming along very nicely. I've managed to finish off the bottom half and am working the middle riddle before beginning the waffle pattern. Yeah me! I believe I can actually make a sweater and its not boring me. I'm looking forward to making a couple more sweaters from the Fitted Knits book which is where B2S came from. Heres what it looks like now:<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221611467353877618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SHbj9tq77HI/AAAAAAAABjQ/ONNREA0bYmA/s320/000_0004.jpg" border="0" /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">I've been busy working on my dishcloth too but didn't manage to finish it by tues. LOL Its not as much fun as I'd hope and I still don't know what I'm making but thats ok. I've decided that it will be my exchange cloth.</div><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">I did managed to get out yesterday and go to our Panera knit-nite. I meet a few new friends then headed over to Sbux for some coffee and time w/more friends ~ the staff. I'm enjoying hanging out again and I making an effort to get out and not let work keep me from doing so. I'm finding I'm a bit boring and too tired to be around ~ thats just not how I want to live. I was reminded that several of my sbux friends want to learn to either knit or crochet so we will be planning a nite soon. I think we will meet up on mon next week so I don't have to worry about going to work the next day though I really like tues nites. Oh well, you must be flexible and I also must remember that it maybe better for the others. I'll keep you posted on this little knitting/crochet group.</div><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">I should be in bed right now since I must get up at 4a but I'm not ready. Besides Bon Jovi was on PBS tonite and I got watch some of it. My kiddos were watching videos and I forgot to let them know I wanted to watch the show ~ so I watched for 20mins and let them have the tv. Its ok, it may come on again and I'll be watching.</div><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="justify">Not much more to report, I'll be working on a scarf this weekend and I'll update with pics as soon as I can. I work all weekend and I need to get some new shoes for work so I'm not so tired ~ my feet and knees hurt alot which I think attributes to my fatigue. But I will get some time in w/some friends tomorrow and one of them has decided to teach a mutual friend to knit. I'm sure this will be a riot and I plan to take pics. Til next time ~ have an awesome one!</div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-5398175532695473642008-07-09T16:21:00.004-05:002008-07-09T16:27:43.581-05:00~ SP12 Q#5 ~1) Where is your favorite place to go for vacation/holiday?<br /><em><span style="color:#000099;">The beach ~ Virgina Beach or Nags Head are the favs. When we lived on the east coast, we went to VA Beach at least 2x a year (spring break and anniversary). I'd never been to this one and I had a blast. I also got some major instant gratification in too ~ I made 2 crocheted dishcloths, count 'em ....one, two. They are the same, yet they aren't. We then proceeded to the nearest, and our fav, sbux for some java. I've been knitting on the B2S but its slow going due to the heat. I'm hoping to get more knitting done on it in the next few days since I don't have to work. My goal is about an 1 in a day but I believe 2-3 in would be better...heehee, me and my overachieving self. I cleaned the kitchen and diningroom, made myself a pot of coffee then sat down to knit for about an hour before getting ready for work. I believe this round I will allow myself a free day so that I can have fun if I want to or not. Yesterday I posted my 2nd qtr update along with some things I'm working on at the moment. I need to correct that ~ I'm currently working on making 1 sweater ~ B2S, 1 dishcloth which is for an exchange, and 1 pr of socks which are a secret. Now by next week this all could change especially since I've decided there is a UFO I'd like to finish this month ~ Color Play Vest. This would be so rewarding for me to finish this one ~ not much left to do on it. I also would love to finish my CPH ~ "oh where has that pattern gone, oh where could my pattern be." ;) Good thing I have a friend I can call for that if I don't find it this weekend ~ didn't look last weekend, oops!</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Thats all for now ~ off to finish knitting on my B2S and watch old movies. At present, my stash is neither containable nor accessible. Hmm....sounds like I need to get myself some organization going. I would love to have my stash full of yarns I absolutely love but at the moment there are some there I purchased on sale, was given or traded for that I don't love nor like. I need to set some standards for myself and stick with them. My friend <a href="http://www.yarncrawl.typepad.com/">Robin</a> has done that and I may need to destash like she did too keep my focus. I know "less is more" but for some reason that doesn't seem to apply to my stash. What a joke?! ~ I want to live more simply having less but I also love my sock yarn stash, which is growing all the time, and don't want to give it up. It will be alright, I'll just keep knitting and one day........</span></div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-58948960907377435582008-06-28T23:56:00.004-05:002008-06-29T00:30:25.081-05:00Whaddup!<div align="justify">well I had to start it with somethin', right?! Its been very busy around here. I've not been motivated since I'm too tired to truly think. Though I have been reading and enjoying my family. I'm reading plenty ~ CMs writings Vol 1 , 5 &amp; 6, Yarn Harlot book and will probably start a book on cd this weekend.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">I've managed to eliminate a large portion of the newspapers that have accumulated around the house and I've also clipped coupons. I plan to do more clipping tomorrow and getting them organized into my container. I'm looking forward to shopping again and have decided that it would be really in our family's best interest to save as much as I can since the electric bill has hit the $200s. Whew ~ way too high for me and will have the a/c guy coming out to take a look since its not cooling the house at all. I guess I should be grateful that we can breathe since it does seem to keep the air from being stagnate.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">On the knitting front ~ I was so unmotivated it isn't funny. However, I stop by my LYS on tues ~ sock nite ~ and took the plunge to make a pr of "Not Peds." These are a secret pair and I'm hoping to have them done by the middle of July, though I've had to rip them out yesterday and start again today. Yes, I ripped out 3days worth of knitting b/c they were too tight for me therefore they'd be too tight for the intended ~ which I'm not telling you who that is since its a secret. The colorway is gorgeous and I won't be sharing that info w/you either, I'll post a pic in blacknwhite and thats all you'll get for now. I've purchased another set of #6s for my CPH but can't find the pattern ~ I'll give a gallant effort in my search this weekend. I don't really have anything else going though those UFOs are calling my name.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">In other news ~ I've restarted my school blog and will be posting all major school related info there. Growing up in NYC had a lot of advantages ~ walking cross bridges eating ice cream; window shopping at Macy’s, Gimbles and various other stores in and near 42nd St; roller skating everywhere; eating pizza and playing video games; making up games and playing pieces with candle wax in container tops; and the list goes on and on. Though I could and did do all of these, I loved going to the library the most. The only time I could go and really enjoy being there was in the summer. I guess this is why I go very often now especially in the summer. ;D </span></div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-34419170904811476372008-06-19T09:04:00.002-05:002008-06-20T09:09:17.739-05:00~ '08 CM Conference ~ pt 2<div align="justify">During one of our evening chats, we discussed the Art of Knowing ~ Narration. In this group, a few of us discovered that we were allowing our children to summarize instead of narrate. The children were giving several key points but not actually asking themselves mental questions to produce a true retelling of what was read or heard. We also learned that we were not allowing true narration when we do alot of prompting or asking questions or interjecting with our experience before the narration had been completed. The child's brain wasn't being engaged and allowed to develop through the use of narration. In essence, we are to allow the child to narrate fully and once the narrator is satisfied, we can begin the great discussion. The great discussion is when all minds involved share their love and experience for a particular topic. It is highly used by great thinkers and considered a very enjoyable past time over great books.<br /><br />I realize that I have been guilt of starting the “great discussion” before the narration or having them do something else which has resulted in either a poor narration or an overly emphasized one ~ one that has embellishments from others. This discussion has spark anew the desire to fully use CMs methods and I have embarked on a study to find out how to narrate so that I can effectively model this to my children. I don’t want summaries ~ they water down the retelling and I don’t want embellishments from me ~ they destroy the originality of the narrator.<br /><br />So what is narration? We know its not summarizing or having a great discussion. Is it simply retelling what you’ve read or heard? Or is there more to this relatively simple method. I will be studying Volume 1 and 6 along with several Parents Review Articles. As I process this reading, I’ll share my thoughts. </div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify">I will leave you with a statement that I’m pondering found in PR Article <a href="http://www.blogger.com/“http://www.amblesideonline.org/PR/PR35p610SomeNotesNarration.shtml">Some Notes on Narration</a> ~ “The less the teacher talks the more the class will have to think.” Now thats a very important point us homeschool moms need to grasp.</div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-51423543198439652362008-06-17T11:09:00.003-05:002008-06-17T11:15:26.001-05:00~ '08 CM Conference ~<div align="justify">This year’s theme was “From Rewards to Relationships”. All sessions were around developing the relational aspect of a Charlotte Mason education ~ not just the subject relations (Science of Relations) but personal relationships within the family structure. It was amazing to see the hearts of the parents and teachers being turned towards their children. This conference was truly divine providence. I was humbled by the thought that I had not been developing relationship with my own children but spending my time meeting our material needs and demanding excellence in academics. It really was a wakeup call for me but its not too late to change, thank God for that.<br /><br />There is a lot to talk about so I think I’ll take it in parts ~ this will be part I. Using the questions provided for our processing times, I’ll share some of my thoughts.<br /><br />*what has been presented at the conference that is challenging you?<br />There have been several things presented that I would say challenges me but the 2 that stand out the most is Education is an atmosphere and developing my relationship with God. When I began homeschooling, God being the center of it was all I talked about and envisioned would be the core of it. However, the truth be told the relationship part has disappeared and I’ve inadvertently made it another subject ~ very impersonal. I’ve allowed my home and school life to become impersonal, sterile and devoid of life. There is no atmosphere for learning nor developing a relationship with the Lord. The conference helped me to renew my thoughts and to see where I need to make the changes. I’ve been inspired to go deeper in the Word of God and CMs writings. I must find balance in order to do this right for my family and it all begins with me.<br /><br />*what ideas or practices of Mason do you better understand?<br />Education is a life, a discipline and an atmosphere. I’ve come to the conclusion that my understanding of these was not as complete as I’d like. I didn’t really comprehend the following:<br />Education is a life ~ subjective (spiritually)<br />Education is a discipline ~ objective (physically)<br />Education is an atmosphere ~ relative (relationally)<br />~ taken from notes provided in breakout session “Education is an Atmosphere"<br />It all makes more sense now and how all four pillars (includes Education is a Science of Relations) must be present, working together to have a true CM education.<br /><br />*how will the concept of relationship change the way you teach/parent from now on?<br />This conference has challenged me to return to the ways in which I know work and to rekindle the relationships I’ve begun with my children. One of the reasons I began homeschooling was to get to know them and to help them develop a relationship with the Lord. I’ve been sidetracked for quite some time but I’ve made a decision to follow my heart from now on and I will be doing things that create relationships. Some of things I must do are:<br />1) having tea time<br />2) read alouds<br />3) spending time with them individually<br />4) model for them what I expect rather than telling them what it looks like; and lastly<br />5) stand in the gap for them, fervently praying for them along with providing an atmosphere that will allow them to grow in favor with God and man (school scripture in action Luke 2:52b).<br />I see a lot of growth in my children and I know its from building relationships with them in the past 5 yrs but I also know it can be greater and that I need to ensure that I pursue this higher level.<br /><br />*what ideas or practices of Mason do you want to investigate more?<br />Narration ~ to fully develop the art of knowing in each student<br />Education is an atmosphere ~ to nurture, admonish and equip them for their purpose<br />Education is a science of relations ~ to fully understand how that fits into the entire education and life<br /><br />CMs writings were far beyond her time and I’m grateful that I have access to the resource at such time as this. I’m excited to be apart of a movement for the betterment of our children and to be apart of a growing community of loving, caring and awesome parents and teachers. I can do this ~ one step at a time.</div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-53802241784289494042008-06-17T10:54:00.004-05:002008-06-17T11:08:36.839-05:00~ June 16th ~<div align="justify"><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SFfhOlf1GpI/AAAAAAAABg4/WQ4YL5i81Xc/s1600-h/YJ-Blk.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212882734404672146" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SFfhOlf1GpI/AAAAAAAABg4/WQ4YL5i81Xc/s320/YJ-Blk.jpg" border="0" /></a>Goodies in the mail. . . while I was away, I received my Yarn Junkies-Black package from Kathleen in MI. I’m loving my yarn ~ lovin’, squeezin’, huggin’ and calling them my very own. Whoops ~ thats looney tunes. I didn’t realize how tired until the drive home yesterday. I couldn’t actually drive all the way as I’ve done in the past. I wasn’t physically able to do ~ my body is sore, swollen and simply worn out. Its my own fault since I took that new job which I really thought would be great. I love the work, the store and helping people, but I stand alot and it’s just too much for me. I will get a good pair of shoes this week to the tune of $60 but if I ever leave this job, what will I do with the shoes? I know, I should just think about my body for now since the shoes will greatly help in feeling better. My schedule for this week is much lightly than past weeks and I’m very grateful. I was thinking of working more for the summer to make a little extra $$ but now I will just rest. You know, I’m not getting any younger ~ I’ll be 41 this year and I really want to live and feel better about myself but first I have to learn to say "no". LOL<br /><br />When I was away, I was visiting friends and enjoying the scenic beauty of the East Coast. Oh how I love that side of the world ~ beautiful mountains, tall trees and lots of water. Ok back to earth, I do miss living on there and visiting was great. I attend the CM Conference in NC where I visited with lots of online friends, friends I made last year and a lot of new friends. My girls and I left on Wed at 1am headed for TN to picked up my dear friend <a href="http://rusticanda.blogspot.com/">Leslie</a> and her son. This leg of the drive started out great, we drove thru OK and AK w/o a hitch and good time, I might add, but when I got to TN life as we knew it changed. I love the <s>countryside</s> I mean mountainside of TN but its a very long drive that turned into a nightmare for 2 reasons ~ construction detour and storms. I used mapquest to get me to my friend’s home but it gave me incorrect directions for the detour, so guess what happen? You’re right ~ I got lost. The directions actually took me into the main construction area not the detour which was I640 and into downtown Knoxville which was under a serious storm warning. There were actually 3 parts to the storm and I ended up in all 3 ~ lots of rain, hail, thunder and lightening. I was over 5hrs later than planned which means we arrived in NC at 10p instead of 5p.<br /><br />The good is ~ we had a blast. Leslie, as always, is a great roommate, her son and my daughters had a good time getting to know each other and I got to sleep. ;O In another post, I’ll share some of the things I learned at the conference to keep my daily report separate. Due to major fog and the generous hospitality of Leslie and her family, the girls and I stay with them before we headed home. I’m glad we did because we got to enjoy her a little longer and Riley made a new friend, Miss M. She is adorable and loves the same things that Riley does though there is a 11 yr difference in their ages.<br /><br />We made it safely home though we ended driving into a storm that was over OK ~ wow 2 storms in the same cross-state trip, who knew?! I’ll do again to have as much fun as we had. I returned home to my hubby who had been home alone, Da Boy was with a friend off at the lake and now at their family home in Ada. He is having a blast, so I’m not too mad at him that I’ve not talked to him since he left a week ago. Hubby was glad to see us and had done some cleaning which was very nice of him. ;) The house was very inviting and he even had a pot of coffee waiting though I didn’t get to enjoy it until 2hrs later ~ I past out, I told you I was exhausted. ;)<br /><br />I did some knitting ~ I finish my friend’s peds. </div><br /><div align="justify"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212881346961508178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SFff903mh1I/AAAAAAAABgw/Ei0PS3vboFs/s320/Phara%27s+Peds.jpg" border="0" />Yeah me! I worked a little on a scarf but I know I need to rest so knitting has not been a priority. I’m getting excited about knitting again but it will be slowly and more for gifts. I really think I can make things to give away for Christmas if I start in the next month.<br /><br />Thats all for now. Have a great week! </div><br /></div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-17532651603848871442008-06-09T18:40:00.009-05:002008-06-09T20:29:09.132-05:00Long awaited post<a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SE3YfECDJxI/AAAAAAAABew/sfA7jui15E8/s1600-h/ISE6III.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5210058372107413266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SE3YfECDJxI/AAAAAAAABew/sfA7jui15E8/s320/ISE6III.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div>I promised you and the lovely bunch at <a href="http://ise6.blogspot.com/">ISE6</a> details about the package I received this round. Despite the heat, I did manage to take pics of my ISE6 package and knit on the ped. It was way to hot to really do much but sleep, so I took advantage of the situation and took several naps. ;)</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">I thought I was going to write more but I'm not focusing very well so I'll leave you with pics of my package and completed scarf. I've been working a lot and my body is starting to tell me how much it doesn't appreciate it. I love my new job but today I crashed and burned. It started out well, so I thought. I didn't get any coffee or breakfast but that is pretty normal for most days. However, today it was an issue. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Dh</span> brought me a cup of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Sbux</span> though I didn't get to drank much ~ that was so sweet of him especially since he had to get thru the flash flood that occurred after he dropped me off at work. After my sip of coffee, my head began to hurt, my eyes became unfocused and I couldn't think clearly. I finally had to stop working and take some <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">claritin</span> and pain reliever. The pain subsided but the throbbing in my right eye lasted all day. I'm glad it wasn't pounding all day but the throb still was too much while standing on your feet for 4hr increments. I did manage to make it to the end of the day and clock out on time. I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow and probably should be in bed now resting. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">LOL</span> But I had to update on whats going on w/me. ;)</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206788854891167570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SEI64HRAP1I/AAAAAAAABYw/FhVJfdGvS00/s320/SWiii+target+socks.jpg" border="0" /> <div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">After finishing off these lovely socks and mailing them to my target ~ I received this in the mail. So folks ~ its official, I've been assassinated. ;) My assassin sent some very lovely socks that are soft and pretty. I hope my target likes her socks though now I'm thinking I should have used a different yarn. ;0 Well, can't change that now. I wish the remaining warriors luck they will need it. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206788854891167586" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SEI64HRAP2I/AAAAAAAABY4/0x3rfCR22uc/s320/SW3+pkg.jpg" border="0" /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206788859186134898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SEI64XRAP3I/AAAAAAAABZA/JUd5yiuK1H0/s320/SW3+pkg2.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206788863481102226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SEI64nRAP5I/AAAAAAAABZM/YZu6ofxwevw/s320/SW3+socks.bmp" border="0" /> <div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Well, off to bed now. I've not been reading, blogging or knitting much. I've managed to complete 2 of my pressing projects this weekend which I'm very excited about ~ SWiii socks &amp; my ISE6. I will be visiting the PO tomorrow to get them on their way along w/some other goodies that need to be sent out. My new work schedule along w/the rising cost of gas will now be the main reasons I will be limiting my swapping especially since getting to the PO is more difficult to arrange even for the 24/7 machine. LOL I've only one more swap package to send actually and that is to be sent in July then I'm done. I will only be an angel and swap stickers which I can send from my house as long as I have stamps on hand ~ now where did I put that book of stamps. heehee I love swapping but my life is a bit too complicated for them now. I'll just participate in kals and groups and watch others swap. ;) I know I'll miss the fun but to be fair and not disappoint anyone, I'll sit out for a season.</div><br /><div align="justify">On the home front ~ I'm working on my flylady tasks on mon &amp; tues when I'm home though I've been doing the zone from the week before, much easier for me. Its coming along and I'm pleased to say I'm finding things that have been missing for a while. My new pt has been awesome and stressful at the same time. I spend most of my week at the store, but its temporary ~ we are in the process of hiring more staff, and there is much to do and learn. I spend my sundays sleeping in or knitting at the lys before going to work and mon &amp; tues hanging out w/the kiddos doing school, playing games and cleaning. We'd like to move in the next 6mos so its best to get started on downsizing. I've enjoyed the process this time round, I guess b/c I know exactly what I want and where I'm going unlike in the past.</div><br /><div align="justify">School is coming along and I've lots of ideas and plans running thru my head. I want to do more, see more and read more so that will be my focus when I return from my conference. I'll be going to a CM conference in 2 wks to learn more, be recharged and spend time reflecting/resting and enjoying the company of some online friends. When I get back we will start our summer program which will actually be a 6wk school plan w/2wks off before starting again. This will help w/planning and keeping me from getting bored or sidetracked. They have improved a lot in the last few weeks though I'm finding that they need more of my attention than I gave them but glad I'm able to do so now. </div><br /><div align="justify">I've not been reading much lately either ~ though I'm leading/helping w/3 book studies at the moment. Besides these, I've not read anything not even my email. I've over 300 emails to read and respond to but I've not had the energy to do them. I've done the moderator ones, those I must do but I'll get to my own personal emails soon. Btw, this means if you've emailed me in the last 8 days, I've not read it and will soon. ;)</div><br /><div align="justify">On the knitting front ~ I've already mentioned that I finished the Sock Wars socks and my scarf for my ISE6 pal. I've only 3 other projects OTN ~ my CPH, my friends Peds and a snuggle scarf ~ a gift. I've not been motivated to start anything else nor have I've had the time. I did manage to use my 2 free days from SAL and I purchased some clearance cotton on one of them ~ lovely bright colors. I'm not sure what I used my other purchase on ~ I've packed up alot of my yarn but it was probably sock yarn. LOL</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify">Today, I spent time cleaning a hot spot in my room then we went shopping. I picked up some items for an angel package I'll send tomorrow and then to Wally World for yummies. We had a mini-bbq at house just for us. It was fun and we are full. The kiddos and I watched "Juno" afterwards, I actually didn't watch the whole thing but its was funny what I did watch. Not fond of the explicit language but I think it might have been a good film ~ the verdict is still out for me. All in all its been a wonderfully peaceful day and I did take time to be silent today though it wasn't at 3p. I hope you all had time w/your family and memories of those who have gone before us. I think thats why it was very peaceful around here too.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify">I'm going now, need to go to bed ~ busy day tomorrow. Have a great week!</div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-34834990176679894952008-05-13T19:07:00.004-05:002008-05-13T19:39:08.519-05:00How's it going out there?<div align="justify">Its going good here though I'm a bit tired. We are getting things caught up around the house and with school. My work schedule is starting to normalize now that we are open. Yes, we successfully opened our store and doubled our expected sales for the opening ~ Yeah! Lots to be done still and to learn also. I've been resting today and knitting like crazy ~ Sock Wars 3. I decided not to drop out. I'm working to take out my victim out before I receive my own deadly pair. heehee. I've been informed that I have at least 1 or 2 days before I will be terminated. Its been a blast and has taken some stress off.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Yesterday, we took a road trip to Owasso ~ dh, Da Boy and I had never been so the girls were our tour guides. We had a wonderful afternoon out ~ dinner, shopping and hanging out with each other ~ something we hadn't done in a long time. We've allowed our lives to become to busy and unstable that we miss out on these wonderful opportunities ~ they are growing up way too fast. Mother's day was good, I worked from 11a - 4p, opened my gifts and worked on the computer. Nothing exciting but restful. Today, I spent time w/the kiddos working on lessons and playing games. I lost most of them. LOL It was fun and I think they enjoyed it too.</div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Well, I'm off to finish working on my sock. Thought I'd pop in, say hi and check on some of my cyber-friends. Have a great week.</div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21055246.post-89325989995576888502008-05-01T22:04:00.004-05:002008-05-01T22:14:22.315-05:00Normal Life?<div align="justify">What is a normal life? I'm asking myself this question as I type this post because currently my life is anything but normal. Though its slowing down and I'm getting to spend a few extra minutes online, it is far from normal. Training is still going on at the new pt but its in-store now putting the store together for opening. I've been volunteering at the LPGA too so I'm super tired and need to go to bed right now but wanted to update my blog and the groups I'm in.</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">I've not been successfully tracking my spending though I've not purchased any yarn for myself in 30 days and only purchased yarn 23 days ago to complete a project which costed me $8. Woohoo - now thats progress if I say so myself. There has been other spending though ~ extra gas for training, evening meals since I've not been able to go grocery shopping ~ not fast food ;) , and bday presents ~ Sk8Chick turns 20 next week. Ahh..makes a momma proud.</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Other than that nothing is going on in my neck of the woods, so I leave you with pics. Have a great weekend ~ I'll be back next week.</div><div align="justify"></div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Da Boy's Peds</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195612353482024946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SBqF6G_tZ_I/AAAAAAAABYc/CHOYHN0u8-c/s200/DaBoy+peds.jpg" border="0" /> <div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="center">My Love2Knit Dishcloth Spring Exchange<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195612349187057634" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lukQD5ZJSk4/SBqF52_tZ-I/AAAAAAAABYU/JXTIWye37Fw/s200/L2KDC+Spring+Exc.jpg" border="0" /></div>Dawn ;)http://www.blogger.com/profile/07586597417445446780noreply@blogger.com
