Also be aware that the road will be completely closed at some point for resurfacing. I will post any further information here when it appears on the County Council web site.<br /><br />The County Council provide an estimated start date of 06/03/06 and estimated end date of 23/04/06<br /><br />Added 19/3/06:<br />The <a href="http://www.leics.gov.uk/index/highways/road_improvements/integrated_transport_home/oadby_b582_gartree_road.htm">County Council web site</a> explains that there have been several accidents at the junctions of Shady Lane, Stoughton Road and Gaulby Lane in recent years. This stretch of Gartree Road is currently subject to the national speed limit of 60 mph.<br /><br />The road alterations include:<br /><ul><li>A mini-roundabout at the junction of Gartree Road and Stoughton Road, with high friction surfacing and improved street lighting.</li><li>High friction surfacing on the approaches to the Shady Lane Junction.</li><li>Improved road signs and markings throughout.</li><li>A reduction of the speed limit along Gartree Road from 60 mph to 40 mph from the BUPA hospital to past the junction with Stoughton Road. Also anyone who has had a purse and contents go missing. The latter particularly applies to elderly residents. These are the large reusable green canvass bags for garden clippings, vegetable peelings and so on. You can obtain more bags from Client Services on (0116) 272 0572. Many houses in Grange Ward have large gardens but you can have more than one bag.<br /><br />Alternatively you can home compost and use it to improve your garden.
