American Eskimo – Howie, ID #119281 has gone to a rescue.

OWNER SURRENDER DOGS

Contact Kerry (siberescuegirl@yahoo.com) if you can take any of these dogs into foster care.

Evaluated OS Dogs:

Sasha - Siberian Husky
Gender: female
Age: 9 years old
Coat color: white
Eye color: blue
Cats: no
Dogs: does well dogs that are submissive if she has firm leadership
Kids: unknown
Reason for rehoming: Sasha is extremely affectionate, energetic and loves to walk on her leash and run around the yard. We have a 4 foot high chain link fence which she has not tested. She has no food aggression issues but loves treats and will tell you with her eyes when it is time for a treat. She is housebroken and with the exception of when she was on prednisone, does not have accidents in the house. Sasha is a willful Siberian Husky who needs someone who can use firm and consistent methods (like Nothing in Life is Free) on a daily basis to maintain leadership over her. She will try to test limits and see what she can get away with, and she will become bossy and pushy if she does not receive consistent, firm leadership.
Sasha's original owner's husband passed away in April of 2006, and had to sell her home and move in with relatives, and could not take Sasha with her. Sasha was adopted out several months ago, but over time, has begun to see what she can get away with and try to become the boss of the house, and has become bossy and pushy toward the family's other dog, although there have not been any fights between them. Her family's other Husky is a laid back dog, and they are not used to dealing with a willful Siberian like Sasha, so they feel it is best to rehome her. Sasha is spayed, house trained and up to date on vaccines.
Photo: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3024/2789184131_0f7e9ee801_m.jpg

These dogs have not been evaluated yet.

Dakota - Siberian Husky
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years old
Color: white with beige streak down his back
Eye Color: blue
Cats: No
Dogs: Okay with older dogs, not good with puppies or small dogs
Kids: good with older kids
Reason for rehoming: Dakota's owners are older and are planning to move within the year. Dakota was their daughter's dog but she moved and left Dakota with them. Dakota is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He has mild epilepsy that is controlled with medication. He does have a sensitive stomach, his owners think he is allergic to chicken. Otherwise he is a healthy boy.
His owner says "Dakota loves attention and being outside. He will chase and try to catch birds and squirrels. He is usually in the back yard, he has not been on a leash very often. He can be very energetic. Loves the dog he has grown up with, but does not seem too fond of puppies or smaller dogs. He is very vocal and lets us know when he wants something - at times I feel like he is really talking to me."
Dakota is not crate trained and is used to having his owners at home with him. He can sit and shake hands and lie down. Dakota is well behaved while being brushed. He is good in the car, but his owner says he likes to "yodel" while going on car rides.

Petfinder link: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10222557

Foster Dogshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09642976628852566499noreply@blogger.com
