I saw my first April 9th.  Went out yesterday to pull shrimp pots.  Saw a mountain goat arross Passge Canal from Whittier.  The thousands of Kiitiwakes are roosting nearby.  Did not do stupendous on prawns, maybe half a gallon after cleaned.  Nice snack for four of us. I saw a massive flock on March 18.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We had about 370 inches of snow this winter. In some places around town it's over halfway up the phone poles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Having some bright,sunny days. Past couple of weekends, snow machines have been coming through the tunnel. Had one mentionable Halibut come in from just outside Whittier.  Brad and Julie in the "Love Boat" for two days and one night, caught this pictured 60 pounder.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eshamy district commercial opener from 8am Monday - 8am Tuesday, excluding Main Bay sub district. Reported large schools of Sockeye in Main Bay. Cost Recovery to start Monday. Snagging should be pretty easy until then.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No Bananas also caught six Halibut off my "Honey Hole" waypoint mid-way down Knight Passage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Local shore fishers have reported a small school of sockeye cruising off the rocks along side the road towards the tunnel. A few people are sight casting snag hooks. Left Whittier after 3pm.  Arrived at Culross near Low tide and made one drift looking for stray 'Butt.  Nothing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Crossed Wells Passage to Lake Bay.  Seiner had corked off entrance.  Watched them fish for about 15min.  When they brought their net in we entered Bay.  Found a large school of nickle bright chums all the way in at the head. No Bananas group of three limited yesterday on my "Honey Hole" way-point.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Commercial opener ended yesterday at the Main Bay Sockeye Hatchery. Give the fish a few days to replenish.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Schools of jumpers inside the top of Esther Passage, probably Coghill Sockeyes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lots of Big prawns East of Billings Glacier Delta. Go near steep rock wall in at least 400' water. Lots of other bouy's, just jump in line.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gray Whale has been holding near South East corner of Perry Island. Two Sea Lions feeding on Salmon inside the Bay.  Lots of fish on the Garmin.  Took a few castes then motored out to the "Dutch Group" to check on local group of Puffins. Ran down below Colross Passage. South slopes melted to about 500', North slopes still socked in with snow. Fished the afternoon outgoing tide. Landed four turbot, four pacific cod and two 15lb halibut. Waypointed the spot. Dall porpoise ran with us from near Eschamy Bay to lower Perry Passage. Got to harbor near dark. Mixed cup of flour with big pinch granulated garlic, half a lemons juice and a big pinch sugar.
