I have loved it the whole time. I trust it totally. I have decided to buy the Dexcom 7 system. This is motivated by a couple of factors. 1. The STS sensors have gone up to 60 dollars each. That is 300 bucks for a box of 5 sensors. OUCH. 2. The dexcom 7 system is actually onsale this month. For the month of March is is 295.00 for the dexcom starter kit. So for the price of 535. I am getting the Dexcom 7 system and a box of 4 sensors. Much better then the 695. I was originally quoted. I called the rep this afternoon with the credit card info and the system should be here on Thursday. That is AWESOME. I have a ton of crud to do this week. The girl scout cookies arrive on Thursday also. I have the option of getting training on the Dexcom 7 from a CDE. The question is do I really need it or not. Well, I am going to go out and feed the critters. I promise to post later this week.

Okay need some electronics help here

I know two posts within minutes of each other. Okay, I am buying my mom a Television. We know it is going to be a 32 inch LCD model. The challenge and question I have for everyone are which ones do you recommend or not recommend. We are looking at Consumerreports.com. I can get a pretty good deal on two of the highest rated ones. the Sony http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bravia-KDL-32S3000-720p-HDTV/dp/B000P6R6CY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202191589&sr=8-1, Samsung http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LNT3242H-32-LCD-HDTV/dp/B000N4Z3TQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202191694&sr=1-1. The third option is the cheap option.
Vizio
http://www.amazon.com/Vizio-VX32L-LCD-HD-TV/dp/B000ROK6LC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202191838&sr=1-3
I just have no clue and don't want to give mom a cheap crappy TV. If you have any comments please let me know. I know if I give mom the option she will probably stick with the Vizio. I am debating the Sony but don't like that it looses in the viewing angle category. The vizio is ratted pretty much very good across the board except for Sound and remote. Not sure that either are important to mom.

It's Susserific.

Okay, I recieved my sussy a few days ago. Actually I am bad it was almost a week ago. I have just been super busy and not feeling great. The sussy did really help to lift me up on that day. I can't wait to read the book. The bag balm is great for dry hands. Last but not least the sugar free lifesavers are delicious. I loved the decorations on the outside of the box. It included Goofy my favorite Disney Character. I kind of take after him I think. This sussy came from Sarah in Chicago. I lost the card with her code name on it. So Sarah I hope you see this and I am sorry I took so long to post about it. I can't wait to read the book that was included. I first need to finish the library books.
I just want to also say thank you to Beth and Amelia for organizing the Sussy exchange.

A few quick updates

Well I ordered the Kitchen aid stand mixer from Kohls. In the end it ended up costing me about 168.70. I paid for a 30% off coupon on ebay. I am actually very happy with the price. The mixer should be arriving here tomorrow. Then the same day I ordered my mixer my printer decided to die. It was making odd noises all along. I had 1.5 packages of ink for old printer. I decided I would take the unopen package back to Staples. This credit gave me another 42.50 to work with on the printer purchase. I had decided to stick with an HP printer since I have been very happy with them. Staples had one for 80 dollars. Well with the Staples rewards check, two cash cards, and credit for returning the ink. Opps forgot the 9.00, I got for returning ink cartridges. The printer cost me a total of 8.50. That is because I added a 2 year replacement warranty onto the printer/copier/scanner. The man behind me in line said you can't beat that. We then went over to Walmart. I got the blood ketone strips they ordered for me. Also picked up other stuff and pictures. Dropped off 3 video tapes to be turned into DVD's for an upcoming birthday. Soon I will be inundated in Girl scout cookie crud. Well, I need to run gotta train the cookie moms on the new online program. It seems very easy.

A Question for everyone

Okay, We are thinking of getting one of those stand mixers. We have pretty much narrowed it down to either Sunbeam or Kitchen aid. The price difference is dramatic in these two. The question is if you own either one of these stand mixers what do you like or hate about it. The Sunbeam that we are considering is this model. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2593950 The Kitchen aid. http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/kitchendining/bestsellers/PRD~32685/Kithttp://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/kitchendining/kitchenelectrics/mixers/stand/PRD~25941/KitchenAid+Classic+Plus+45qt+Stand+Mixer.jsp or this one depending on if we can find someone with a 30 % off coupon.
or this onehttp://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/kitchendining/kitchenelectrics/mixers/stand/PRD~25941/KitchenAid+Artisan+5qt+Stand+Mixer.jsp. thanks for your help

Another batch of quick updates. Okay, I haven't posted here in a long time so maybe we will go to bullets for the highlights of what happened this year.

In February we got a new puppy. Her name is Lilly and she is a great rather nutty addition to the looney bin.

March, was a hectic month. My brother got married and we gave away Jack the goat.

April, Not much went on in April basically the last of the goats arrived. It was born on Easter Sunday.

May, Started out bad but Penny lived and is back at home doing great.

June, I got to go to a book signing. School Ended. A rather slow month.

July, I went to Florida for Friends for life.

August, I decided to buy a used dexcom.

September, I recieved and started using the dexcom. I really love this machine. I promise to post on this later. I also ended up getting the Pain pump replaced. More on that adventure much later.

October, First a1c since getting the dexcom. I dropped a full point in 6 weeks.
We also got a new critter. Sam the bull hopefully to become a steer. We had 10 piglets born on October 7th. We lost one piglet early on but kept 9. We still have 4 little lets running around up in the yard.

November, Once again Penny is worrying us. She is anemic again. We need to decide how to treat her. As a family We decide to go on the steriods. I have to say those meds make the dog feel great. Also Heidi get's married. Congratulations Heidi. Nervous energy over first pain pump fill since replacement. More on that later to.

December, Penny's numbers are not great but the one vet thinks to give her more time and see if they work their magic. Penny is doing much better with her hips. Go for another a1c and actually went down. I love the dexcom.

I have included a picture of Penny on the top in her Yankees Shirt. We still love the Yankees and have hope for Next year. The second picture is of Lilly. She had a great Christmas and Birthday. She just needs to learn to be nicer to her sister Penny. Lilly is also learning to love the gator like her older sister Penny. The both see the work clothes come out and all hell breaks loose. Well I need to get back to worrying about Penny's latest round of blood work. I am making a late New Year's resolution. To try to keep updating my blog. At least once monthly. This is you January Update. Also another amazing factoid. I have purchased my Airline tickets for the summer already. Well, I need to read more of my book before the pup decides to eat it. Oh and once again thank you all for you support when Penny was so sick. I figure with all the More on that laters, I have a bunch of posts.

Penny is home

Well, Penny is home from the dog hospital. She is doing okay for right now. She was just so glad to see us when they brought her into the room. She actually cried telling us all about the stuff they did to her. She goes to her regular vet in 10 days. Just glad to have the dog home with us. I know I will sleep much better tonight.

A quick update on Penny, my dog

Well, I called at 2 am last night to check on Penny. She was doing much better after the transfusion of blood. This morning we got the call from the internal medicine doctor. It seems Penny's uterus was full of pus. She needed to be fixed today. The surgical team could fit her in this afternoon. I agreed to that. The doctor also recommended we not come down to see her tonight because she would be recovering yet. The surgery did have some risks but really was the only way to save Penny's life. We got a call around 3 pm. Penny was out of surgery and had no issues with aneasthia. Thank god. If she does not have any more issues with anemia. She will come home on Monday night. They are not really sure why or what made her become so anemic. It could have been the infected uterus, could be an immune attack. The surgeon seems to hope maybe this will cure the problem. I will keep you all updated. We will get a call tomorrow between 9 and 11 am. I just hope it is to say Penny has remained stable and is doing great. Please keep the prayers and get well wishes coming for Penny. Thank you for all the support.

Penny my dog is sick
Hi Everyone, Please keep Penny, my 11 year old jack russell Terrier in you prayers tonight. I decided to sign up for a class at Michael's. I can actually single crochet for now. It is a miracle. We are expecting a blizzard here. After the class, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got stuff for mom and dad's new bathroom. Then went to Walmart for stuff for the dogs, curtains and of course Charlotte's web on DVD.
In the diabetes department, I can't figure out the freaking highs from hell which occur each morning. I might up the bolus for breakfast. I woke up low yesterday morning which was odd. The dogs are doing great. Lilly is torturing poor Penny. Well, I need to get going now. I am thinking the current pump site is bad. It hurts like heck. I did ram it into a feed bucket on Monday.

Upgraded pump has Arrived

My upgraded Deltec cozmo pump arrived this morning or afternoon. I was acting as greeter at the school. I got home at 2:30 pm. Penny and I then took the gator down to the stand to see if the package was there. The upgraded pump was there. I then started playing with all the software on it. I have to say so far I have used the Meal maker feature. It was awesome. I changed my pump settings to correct back to 100 at 9 am and to 120 at midnight. Hopefully this will help me get my a1c down. I am just so excited for this upgrade. I will have to keep you posted on all the cool stuff. I also like the back light. It will turn on when you hit a button. I am sure the writing and stuff is larger on this pump and also bolder. All I can say is I love it so far. Now Hopefully the new Copilot will be released. No new babies, goats yet.
Also this past week I got to meet Allison, from Lemonade Live, Kate, Kate's quest, Julia and her daugher from Major Bedhead and Val. I forget Val's blog. It was a great time. I even took the subway all by myself and survived. Alright I had better get going now. Puppy is sleeping which means pretty soon she will be waking me up.

Jack has a new Home!!!!

Well Jack the goat has a new home. We were at my brother's wedding yesterday. I mentioned to a boy I graduated from High School with and has twin 4.5 year olds that we had the perfect pet for him and the boys. They came this afternoon and took Jack to his new home. Mom and I are very happy Jack found a new home. We would not have been able to keep him here on the farm. He was a boy. We will have him back for a couple of times each month till June. The kids are measuring Jack. This week is going to be super busy for me. On Wednesday the girl scout cookies come in. On Friday the animals get measured. We went to breakfast today. Okay well that was my super fast update.

A Busy Month
Well the month of February was super busy here. Let's see we got a new dog, Lilly. Our goats started having babies. We have 3 little goats now. One happens to be in our house. He was kind of week when he was born. We brought him in the house and bottle fed him. He is named Jack, because he lives in a box. We had a snow and ice storm in the middle of the month. We had fridgid weather for a couple of weeks here. I got all the girl scout cookies for our community ordered. PHEW. Now just waiting for delivery. I got an outfit for the wedding coming up next weekend. Need to return it to get a size smaller. I have read a ton of books and went to the endocriminolgist also. Right now the puppy and the baby goat are keeping me on my toes. I promise to post pictures tommorow. Of both. Lilly and Jack. March is shaping up to be even busier then February.

Update
Okay, Last appointment with pain doc went awesome. It took him only one stick to get into the pain pump. That is a major 1st here. He also knew he was in really didn't need the xray to confirm it because of something he feels. I swear they had a new thing which looked like the pump and he put it over top of the area it was and found the opening that way. If that is the case it should be pretty easy filling from now on.
Today, I went to the endocriminologist. We actually lowered some of my basals. It is a really needed step. Not sure what is causing these drops overnight but they are looney. Also we did an animal feeding basal to prevent the pre dinner lows. It seems that feeding the animals does drop the sugars somewhat. I need to e-mail Allison my records but not sure I will qualify a lot of lows. Actually my % are much better according to co pilot. It is rather interesting to actually have a graph representing the stuff.
On the animal front, Oscar the calf went to market on Tuesday. Yuhoo the cow is now making a bag, making milk. According to brother and mom they make milk for a long time before having their first calf. We are still waiting for goats to have their babies but they are holding out. The god damn goats are still up to their evil little selves. Anyone want some goats. Also called today about a Jack Russel puppy, but they only had boys left. Mom only wants a girl. Penny says she only wants a sister. On the Jack Russel front she has to go to the vet for followup bloodwork on Saturday. She is not vomiting anymore which is a great thing. She is very spoiled right now. Actually getting only pouches of food no kibble. I think we have created a monster here. Well time for me to get going. Take care.

DREAD

The weather here has turned cold. We were being spoiled by a nice warm winter. Now all of a sudden it is freaking cold here. Not much snow here yet, which stinks but I think the animals are happy about that. Our chickens are not the brightest animals on the farm they continue to lay eggs even though it is fridged here. There eggs make great egg salad. Let's see this has been a hectic month so far. My girl scout troop has been doing Zink the Zebra workshops. This program is absolutely AWESOME. It teaches kids about differences and accepting those who are different. Over the weekend we went on two fantastic council trips. They earned a patch at one and worked with flowers and stuff. That was a super cool workshop unfortunately the scents gave me a major migraine. I have about another 2 weeks before the cookie orders start coming into me. I am dreading that. I actually take the time to type in the orders onto the computer. It double checks the math and everything.
I am dreading my appointment tomorrow morning with the pain doc. It is time to get this gosh darn pain pump filled. I HATE that. Actually the doctor is off tomorrow but coming in to fill my pain pump and take care of another patient. I like the doctor just hate the filling of the damn thing. The next day we have to go to another appointment about my benefits. I hate this but luckily found the paperwork I needed. I will start volunteering at one of our local schools.
I am also working on learning to Crochet and knit. A friend was instructing me online and I think I can actually get two lines of Crochet done. I am also using online instructions from www.learntoknit.com. It will be a miracle if this spaz can learn to do both or one of these things. I have read lots of books lately. Currently I am working on the 4th Sisterhood of the Traveling pants book. I am really enjoying it so far. I also have read 3 Agatha Raisin books since the beginning of the year. I am working on lowering my a1c. I go to the endocriminologist on February 1st. I am not sure I am going to succeed in the new me challenge. I think I might get my 2 week average under 170 but, the lows are happening a lot. I think I have used up the 6 already. Oh a cause for celebration. I have Copilot back on my computer. Of course the scariest graph showed that 49% of the time I am high and 51% of the time I am either low or in range. This is just horrible. These are all numbers from before Christmas. I was too lazy to download my pump into the computer. I need to download them again soon. We just found out today my cousin's daughter is pregnant with twins. She has the cutest one year old. He was at our house last Wednesday. One super fast crawler. I actually enjoy the kids and love to play with them. He also provided a great break for us. We were cleaning out the closets last week. He and his grandma came and visited with us for awhile which was a welcome break. I need to clean up my messy room one of these days. Well I had better get going since it is only 5 hours till the appointment I am dreading.

An Update

A quick update after last nights idiocy. It must have just been what the heck I needed. I actually didn't crash till about 10:30 this morning. The lowest I ever hit last night was 289. The idiocy occured after 12:11 and the numbers from then on are:
12:11 300
1:27 361
1:42 279
2:02 319
3:19 293
and this morning 10:14 50. Okay commentary from last night. WHAT THE HELL was going on. I actually bolused with the cozmonitor for each high number. I HATE DIABETES. Okay, I am gonna go work on cleaning out the closets downstairs with my mom. We figure while dad is away we should be able to get something done. Looks like it should be an interesting day. I think we might also feed the animals early today as the tempature is supposed to drop dramatically during the day.

IDIOCY
Okay, Pass the idiot of the year award would you please. I am so dumb I can't believe I am admitting to doing what I just did. I was changing my site. The old one had been in for well I have no clue how many days. Now on the cozmo you have the load menu. Normally I would just click on fill cannula when not putting on new tubing. Well like an idiot I clicked on fill tubing. I ended up bolusing 3 units unitentionally. That is bad enough. Instead of quiting there I even clicked on the fill cannula thing. So I ended up bolusing 4.2 units. Luckily I am high so the insulin probably won't hurt to much but just can't get over my stupidity. Well, I should get going we are going to clean out the closets tommorow. What a fun job.

Super Busy
Sorry everyone, but my life has been super busy the past month and a few days. Let's see The piglets and momma pig are no longer on the farm. They went to Market right before Christmas. We added a new goat Hershel to our farm animals. We had Christmas and New Years thrown in also. Also had my nephews 30th birthday party. December and the beginning of January were just so busy. We had a great Christmas here. Our family Christmas celebration was crazy but not too bad. I need to post the Christmas card we sent out to everyone this year. It is just too cute not to share. I promise to do that soon. I had to get all the girl scout cookie stuff out to the girl scout troops. I still have some troops that haven't gotten their stuff yet. I loved being able to give the stuff out in November. The four bad goats are still escaping and unfortunately were joined by the newest conman on the farm Hershel. I think we have Hershel proofed the yard for him I will have to let you know tommorow. I am starting to call the bad goats the "god damn goats". Funny thing is all I have to do is yell that and they take off for the fence to go in. My jack russel got the cutest John deere cap for Christmas. I will also post a picture of her in it for you all to see. My mom also says it is okay to get another dog. Penny has been asking for a sister for a long time. We are waiting till the spring. Mom wants a Yorkie poo. We had a Yorkiepoo before we got Penny. I want another Jack Russel, but then worry that Penny is just the cream of the breed. She is actually a very calm Jack Russel. Trying to think if anything new has come up. Just had super busy month and beginning of the year.
Oh I did enter the diabetes O-C new me challange. My goal is to get my a1c down to 7.5. I have had one heck of a run of lows just recently. Well I hope you like the new look of my blog. Oh and yes it is National delurking month. So please if you actually read this blog please let me know. Also if I didn't add you to the blogs I read post let me know also. I had better get going want to watch the repeat of Nashville Star tonight.

    ANGRY
Okay, NOW that I have your attention I will post the few reasons I am Angry. First of all on Wednesday night I found out one of my girl scout's sister had been diagnosed with diabetes. This just hurts on many rows. I am angry because I know that being 12 and hit with the son of a bitch of a disease just sucks. Not that it is any better at any other age. I remember the comments made by a classmate that testing blood was discusting. Hiding in the bathroom to give myself shots. I was not open with diabetes to people for many years. In my high school only maybe 2 or 3 people knew I had d. This diagnosis just triggered all that anger. I need to talk to the father and connect him with some of the people I know. I just feel I need to give him sometime and space to handle it.
Next, I am ANGRY that there is no cure to this freakin disease. Jeepers when I was diagnosed 21 years ago. I was told there would be a cure in 10 to 15 year. OKay we are 6 years past that mark. I also am annoyed after reading Cheating Destiny. I find that the JDRF pouring money into the Artificial pancreas project is a total waste of money. I have an internal pain pump, made by the company working on the internal combined insulin pump. After having to have this thing filled 10 time over the past 4 years and having to have it repostioned. I literally told the Radiologist THIS is why I am not a supporter of that project. Our focus needs to be on the cure or prevention. I have always believe prevention is the key to the cure and feel we are so far away from that it make me depressed.
I am also ANGRY with the medical professionals. Heidi over at D log cabin, www.d-logger.blogspot.com/, was attacked by a doctor IMHO. This was not a Endocrimonologist. This was a freakin General Practice doc. I am sorry the only person who really can give me any heck about numbers is the Endocriminologist and she had better have IDEAS for helping improving them or maybe the gynocologist if I were trying or wanting to get pregnant. I hate the way docs want to blame everything on diabetes. Let me see when I was having an allergy to the oral pain meds making me vomit it was diabetic gastroparesis. When I first went to the pain doc for the RSD it was diabetic neuropathy. Um idiot it is UNIlateral swelling and all I can't handle is touch. Don't ask about the first idiot podiatrist bitch, she actually sent me to the Physical therapist. The PT knew it was RSD from the beginning. Luckily from their went to an idiot orthopedist who actually sent me to the right doc. The accupunture one. She diagnosed the RSD right away and sent me to the pain doc. Let me see other medical professionals to be annoyed at. Funny thing is the one pain doc told me it really is not D related just basically bad luck I ended up with both diseases and that I retriggered it twice. I am so tired of fighting the system. I am annoyed with current pain doc for not changing the meds like he said he was going to. He doubled the concentration of the one med. Has lowered my pain by one freaking point. I just am sick and tired of doctors who are idiots. I have had some awesome ones and some shitty ones.
I am ANGRY with the FDA. I want a freakin NAVIGATOR now. It might actually help me and Heidi lower our A1C's.
FDA get off your sorry little butts and approve this device. I WANT it NOW.
I am ANGRY with DIABETES. Let me see, I wake never know if when i wake up in the morning feeling shitty if it is because I am low. A general rule with me but not a 100%. I have one hell of a time. We can't raise basals or I might not wake up in the morning. It has happened on more then one occasion. I sometimes wake up extremely out of range on the high side. I sometimes wake up low. I might once in a while wake up on the in range side. That is a day to be celebrated majorly. I am tired of poking my fingers each and everyday. Tired of changing my infusion sets and filling reservoirs. I am tired of all the crap it just takes out of me to deal with this disease. I am tired of people tell me it is POSSIBLE to control this disease. Just walk a mile in my sneakers. THAT is bullshit. I have to say I do think the PA and endocriminologists office is great. She is trying but as she says I make no sense. Some of it is I forget to bolus. Memory issues come from a side effect of a medication I no longer take for the RSD.
I am ANGRY with the ADA telling me that I need an a1c under 7.5 to be considered under control. I saw the graphs. The giant jump occurs at 8. If I can keep my numbers under 8 and avoid severe lows I am a happy camper. I am shooting for the lowest I can get but it is annoying. Another annoying thing the ADA does at times is not distinquish between the two types of diabetes. I get lumped in with the fat people. I wasn't fat when I was initially diagnosed.
I am ANGRY with RSD. This disease has taken far more from me then I can list. Let me see, I no longer play softball cause of the pain. I no longer drive because of the meds given to me for this disease. The meds caused memory issues and I would get lost in a paper bag, forget where I am going, forget that red means stop green means go. The wierd thing with the memory issues is it is fleeting. I am tired of people telling me that RSD is not a real disease. I am tired of the pain in my tummy where the pain pump. I am TIRED of constantly being in pain. The fact that I can't sleep because of the RSD adds to that frustration.
I am ANGRY with the 3 pain in the but escaping goats. Anyone have any good goat recipes. I really want to shoot these goats and eat them. The rest of the goats remain in the pen. These 3 get out and try to steal the donkeys food. I am also ANGRY with the Turkey who now thinks attacking the human is a good plan. HE should have been thanksgiving dinner but is too old and tough.
This is just a partial list of things I am angry about. These are the major ones. So two things don't tell me that diabetes can be controled we do our best to MANAGE it. I am also sorry but giving a patient scare tactics to scare them into being a better diabetic is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. IT DOES NOT WORK. My pediatric endo tried threatening my license at 18. Guess what that was the LAST time I ever saw him. The next endo was great but had a horrid office staff. He was never threatening to me. He would just put you could do better and try different methods. Current endo well she can be a pain in the ass, but the PA is the saving grace. The one thing about my Endo and PA are they know I will do things in my own way and they are fine with that. So my one point is the BULLY principal or the COMPLICATIONs principal does not float my boat. It is really a genetic crap shoot. Let me see in the past 3 days, We have had a 17 year old and a woman die of cancer. We have found out two friends have cancer. I have always believed in FATE. That when you number is up your number is up. I also know that AWESOME control does not always mean no COMPLICATIONs. Okay I am done with my rant. Gonna Crawl back under my Rock. I will crawl out to take time to feed the animals whom I love dearly. The cows are the stars of our Christmas card. That wil be my next post. Sorry this one was so long.

A post for D bloggers day
I promised this would be an more upbeat post after my rantings yesterday. I have to say sometimes I am grateful for the people I have met because I have D. Let me see the people whom I have met personally and admire so much. A lot of them are children or parents of D. Some are others with type 1. First I have gotten to meet Ellen and Zach. Ellen is just an inspiration to me. She campaigns for a cure and works hard with the DRI. Zach is another inspiration. He is a great kid who handles d as if it is a bump in the road. I have met Sally and Joey. Sally is such a sweet lady and Joey is just such a nice boy. I actually put a rapid D in Joey. I have to say I think it is harder to insert a set into a young child then anything else. Such a different perspective. I have also met Carol, William, Roderick, and Hal. William is the type 1 in this family. He is so little but handles the D like a troooper. I have had the pleasure of meeting Heidi of D-log cabin fame. She would tell you I never shut up. She is the quietest person I have ever met. I had a ball in DC and at FFL conferance with her. She is such a sweetie. I have met Stacey, Jesse, and Jesse's dad. I forgot the husbands name sorry. Jesse just makes me laugh and Stacey is a fantastic mother. I have met Wendy from NY and Jessica these two inspire me also. These are just the people I have met through CWD. Oh I also forgot. I got to meet Marissa Hitchock and Jeff Hitchcock, the inpiration and creator of childrenwithdiabetes.com. I have also gotten to meet Laura Billetdeux and her son Sam. I know there are people I am forgetting in this list, but I count each and everyone of them as a friend. All I can say is thanks for the wonderful site and for giving me the oppurtunity to meet all these other people. I am hoping to meet more of my friends. I swear these are the people I bare my soul to.
I also visit another site it is Insulin-pumpers.org. I have never met the creator of that site or his daughter but they both are fantastic people who built a group that focuses on insulin pumpers. I have met CC from IP, Heidi is also a member of IP, Steve and then there is Ed from Virginia. I know there are others I have met from this site but the names escape me now. I have to say that diabetes has given me some GREAT friendships with people who understand. I never went to a diabetes Camp but consider the CWD conferances to be like a camp. I am saving my money to attend the FFL conferance this year. Okay well that is my post.
I forgot to count my blogging friends and online friends. There are so many. Everyone inspires me and I am not sure I would have ever read D related bogs if I were not Diabetic. So everyone keep you chins up and keep posting.

A post for D bloggers day
I promised this would be an more upbeat post after my rantings yesterday. October was hectic to put it mildly. Just super busy but did have some fantastic times. It is now November and life is getting hectic again. I am just so tired of dealing with the constant pain of the RSD and the comments of people. For those of you who don't know, I have RSD or Reflex sympathetic dystrophy also known as Chronic regional pain syndrome. I am basically in constant pain in my foot. If i try to plant the foot it is EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. The worse thing is the pain has begun to travel up higher and stay in the other areas for a longer period of time. I have a pretty good tolerance for pain. What drives me absolutely nuts are the dumb comments people make. I'm sorry try living for a day in my shoes and tell me how you feel. I am just so frustrated with the crap in my life it isn't funny. To top it all off I need to get a lawyer to help with my SSD appeal. I hate dealing with this crud. Also dreading that I need to go back to pain doctor for a pump refill. Read previous posts and you will understand why I hate that. Of course this next one will be a long visit he wants to try some oral medications on me. I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing. He keeps trying to tell me that I have Diabetic neuropathy. He seems to overlook the fact that the pain or affected area is only on the one side of the body. Generally neuropathy is bilateral. We also consulted with one of the TOP rsd docs in the country and he confirmed it is RSD. That was back in February, 2002. He actually recommended some treatments for me. I have a big fear of the oral meds. One of the pain meds they had me on really messed up my memory. My mom says it is worse then her's and she is 40 years older then me. This is a hard thing to prove that you are a basic imbecile at times but perfectly normal at others. It really depends on the day of the week. The other thing the RSD has screwed with is sleeping. I don't sleep much at all. We are talking 2 hours of sleep wake up. I do try to stay laying down to get some more but it doesn't work. Well pain doc did offer me something for sleep. He didn't write out the script though. Hopefully next time and the med work. Unfortunately for me most of the meds that would have a 400 lb gorilla sleeping like a baby don't knock me out at all. A resident said looking at the amount of Elavil, anti depressant used for pain management also, I was on she couldn't believe I was a functioning human being. I actually feel that the pain doctor here feels we might not have many or any more options. Basically, I have to learn to function with it.
Right now I am just Angry all the things RSD has taken from me. Let me see the ability to play softball. I used to coach Basketball and soccer. I basically felt after a year of trying it wasn't worth it when you couldn't run and it just triggered more agony. I don't drive anymore because of the memory issues. I swear I am not sure I could find my way out of a paper bag. It took from me a work that I loved. My goal of becoming a PA or NP has also flown out the window with this damn disease. I think it has given me one hell of a case of depression also, so it took away my happiness. I was generally a happy go lucky person before the RSD. Now, I am usually like that but there are times when i just blow up for no reason. Let's see there is other shit that this RSD has taken from me just trying to remember what they are. The one thing I will never allow RSD to steal is my girl scout work. I would love to lead another girl scout troop in a younger level. Well, I need to go lay down and rest my sore back. I think that is another gift of RSD. I also have lost a lot of trust in doctors from dealing with RSD. Some I have felt were excellent have turned to absolute imbeciles. I believe cause of his inablity to handle the RSD. Well, I will be posting tommorow about Diabetes. I promise. I don't think I will be as down about that. If I had to a choice to give up one disease. I think I would pick givin up the RSD.

WE ARE the Champions!!!!! of the AL EAST!!!!!
Well tonight thanks to a Boston Red Sox lost. They Yankees have clinched their 9th. That is 9 American League east Title. It is hard to believe for a fan even through the bad years. The Eric Kerplunk years. That the Yankess have done it again. I now hope we can make it 27 World Series Championships. I am a huge Yankees fan and it is so fun to watch this team. Who can believe this again. With all the injuries the Yankees have been through. Jeepers we lost Matsui and and Sheffield for a period of time. Now they have 10 days to rest and recoup for the post seaon. I so want the Yankees to win the World Series this year. WHY????? Don Mattingly does not have a series ring yet and he so DESERVES ONE. CONGRATULATIONS YANKEES!!!!!
Handing out Crying towels to all the boston fans.

Introducing the 4 piglets...

I forgot to post about the birth of the piglets. They are talking about the race between David Ortiz and Derek Jeter for MVP. Now lets think about a few things here. First off all the Red Sox have virtually eliminated themselves from any chance of a playoff birth. They Yankees need to win or the Red sox need to lose 10 more games for the Yankees to clinch the American League title. Well on Sunday Mr. Ortiz, aka, shithead, is quoted as saying the following. According to the Boston Globe, Ortiz said Sunday, "They're talking about Jeter a lot, right? He's done a great job, he's having a great season, but Jeter is not a 40 homer hitter or an RBI guy. It doesn't matter how much you've donee for your ball club, the bottom line is, the guy who hits 40 home runs and knocks in 100, that's the guy you know helped your team win games." The guy continues on about Jeter. Well sorry but if you team were in a race for the playoff the MVP race would probably be closer. Actually I feel that Mariano Rivera or a closer is as important to the team as a Jeter or even Mr. O. Okay that is my rant against the Red sox and their whinney players. Let's see the Yankees lost Hidecki Matsui and Gary Sheffield, but they still have been able to win games. Of cours Hidecki is returning to the Lineup tonight and Sheffield will be returning soon. Sorry about my rant here, but I hate it when people disrespect the Yankee
Oh on a positive not, the pig had her piglets today. She had four little piglets who are so cute. Hopefully they all survive to adult hood. I will try to take pictures of them on Thursday or Friday.
