We are planning to switch to Direct TV sometime soon, since we've heard about it and it seem like it was way better than any other cable network services. So if we switched it could be our first time to use directtv. Direct TV is way better since it cheaper and more channels you can watch. Actually, more movies, more shows, more sports, and even more international channels. It is satellite so it is way better, better since it also has an HD programming.

When I was in the Philippines, we don't merely need cable, since our TV has a built in satellite in it, which was easier for us to watch our favorite channels. Isn't that amazing? You can watch your favorite shows, movies, your favorite sports by only paying less and you can get what you want? I've been looking forward to switch to directv myself, either. Since for me, it could save us money, absolutely. Not only that, you can even have a directv on your kids bedroom, even at your own bedroom aside from the living room. I was amazed since you can even have your HD receiver.

My husband and I loved to watch movies all the time. The one that we got now is only the cheaper cable package, so movies are somewhat not a lot, maybe one or two channels have some movies but with commercial. So, I thought why we were paying for nothing to watch. Now, I've been thinking about switching and maybe when we moved to another state, we can able to find another Direct TV in California. So if you are thinking the same thing, what are you waiting for? If you want to switch on directtv, nor thinking of getting one soon, just do it now! Enjoy more of directv, more channels to watch. It is way better more since it is cheaper which absolutely saves you more money.

~ I have met some people whose name was really unique, I should say such as Overcomer, Autumn, Emerald and even Diamond. There are sometimes caught my attention of why they were named after such names but it never gave any discomfort whatsoever.

~Well, I received more actually. Since last year we received only two and this time, we received actually like 6.

~No. This is not right at all. I think records of private citizens should be made unavailable unless requested by the person. So then it could be not safe at all go to a hospital.

~Well, I usually found interesting blog to read when I leave a comment to other blog, also when I do blog hopping and I have found some other blog in the message section. Usually, I do subscribe to certain blogs whenever I joined a blog contests and giveaways because it is part of the contest's rules and giveaway requirements. I think my feed reader is still not much, I still need to subscribe more blogs.

What do you think of speed-reading? Is it a good way to get through a lot of books, or does the speed-reader miss depth and nuance? Do you speed-read? Is some material better suited to speed-reading than others?

~ I think speed reading is the best thing to do when reading novels, interesting books, and some long stories because you can able to understand the thought and deep meaning of the story than understanding each word that the book said. This is also the best way to do if you can read 200 to 300 words a minute because you can finish the book and start another one again. I have learn speed reading when I was in first year college way back in the Philippines. I never thought of it as importance until I came here in US and went back to school. I do speed read a lot but in minimal stage where I could comprehend of what I was reading through because I can able to understand what I have read and not to understand each word.

Well, there are some materials I have learned when I was in my first trimester of college here in US, where we read a material where the passage is written in two columns. Then, you can able to adjust the pace of reading.

After a long months of being at school, I really need some huge break, and whatever it might be, I am going to grab the opportunity no matter where the destination are because now I really need to unwind and relax. Heads or Tails: Gone Fishing for Carpets

A few days ago, my husband and I went to several stores here in our area to look for a cheaper and nicer carpet that we can replace for our basement. It's been a while since we have found one and it is from his cousin whom also install and sell carpets. It was the nicest carpet because when we went to Lowe's and Home Depot, we saw cheaper ones but the quality is kind a poor. So, glad we had a deal as well. It is so good to make some business with a family relative, I guess.

So, anyway, we had a chance to choose what color we want!

After, we gone fishing for what style, quality, color of carpet, etc., we've finally found one and it's a berber style of carpet. The color if s mixed with brownish gray color which seems nice for our basement wall.

Living here in Michigan is not that nice as you imagine, why? Because we only have few months of warm weather where we can able to go to the beach and enjoy more of the sun. Plus, we don’t have a “real” beach as well because we can only enjoy lakes and stuff. Well, I don’t really despise living here in Michigan, but if I can able to choose the state that I can live, I would choose a place that is closer to the “real beach”. You know when I say real beach; it has white or black sand with salty water. The first time I experienced and had been to a real beach is when we went to see my sister and we went to the beach at the city they live at, and it was gorgeous. I wish I could able to go back and enjoy more of the sun and warm weather, fresh breeze from the ocean.

Since fall and winter season is approaching, I wonder where we could able to go, except in Florida, of course, they are always warm over there. So, I guess, one of the best destinations to visit this fall or winter time is Myrtle Beach. I have not been to Myrtle Beach resorts yet or even visit their Myrtle Beach Hotel. We’ve recently moved into our new home a couple of days now and we are so glad that we got a Direct TV. It's Monday again and it is time for my Mellow Yellow Monday meme.

Since the fall weather started, my son and I stopped going to one of the park that has playground in it nearby. Since then, he seems like missing being out there and play. Well, I wish I could able to stop the fall and winter, so he can able to go out and play but it is of course too impossible. So, I guess, we need to just wait until the winter season is over.

So to remind myself about the last day that we went to the park was last October were some of the trees are already turning red, yellow, orange and brown.

I missed the turning colors of falls, I wish it could be like this forever and for the rest of the winter season.

Considering Vacation Spot destination

Its 6 days more until our 5th wedding anniversary and we were thinking about what to do. We hope that we can able to get out here in Michigan and go to a warmest place for a vacation or maybe at one of the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort in South Carolina. Although, we always have a cold weather during our anniversary, but my husband and I always find a way to enjoy it as much as we could. It is going to be our five years wedding anniversary and I am kind an excited about it too. I still vividly remember after the day of our wedding we went to two different beach resorts for our honeymoon. It was so fun and unforgettable memory since we almost spent most of our days at the beach when we were there. I love being at the beach, it is so relaxing, especially when you hear the waves of the ocean and enjoy the warm weather.

If we could just fly to the south east region where warmer weather is in during this winter season, I would love to do so. I wish we can go to a beach vacation next time for our wedding anniversary because it is nice to experience the same thing we had before the first time we got married. It is just so sweet to reminisce and bring back those special, wonderful memories of ours. Maybe, we can make another special memory at one of the Myrtle Beach Resorts in South Carolina.

Speaking of beaches, I wish we could go to one of the famous beach resort here in US such as Myrtle Beach Resort. I’ve heard that it is the most nice beach resort destination if you are looking for inexpensive vacation. I have seen a lot of hotels, beach resorts, pub, and some shopping malls near Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts and I guess this is absolutely a good destination for our next wedding anniversary. Personality means little to me compared to an anchor's political agenda creeping into their "news reports". That's because half of what the mainstream anchors say cannot actually be called reporting, but rather a narrative of the event. I watch news reports to hear the news reported to me, and the last thing I want to hear is Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson or Diane Sawyer giving me only one side of the story. I watch Fox because Fox is the only mainstream news source completely down the middle in their reporting, as proven time and time again through statistical studies conducted by neutral media watchdog groups.

When I receive a gift card, if it's for a store I like, then I will spend more than the amount on the card, just to make sure I use the whole thing. Usually when I receive a gift card, it's because the person asked me beforehand what my favorite stores are, so they'd know where to get the gift card. I don't think I've ever received a card from a store I didn't like. Frankly, that would be just rude! Just kidding. But the best gifts are those pre-paid visa cards, so I can go to more than one place to spend the amount on the card. It makes for a nice shopping day. It's also good because, with a pre-paid visa card, you can go to the stores with the good sales, and not have to shop at one store that may not have any good sales at the time.

Cheap Car Insurance is Possible!

When it comes to insurance I could think of security and something valuable to depend on. Since for me insurance could help a lot of things when it comes to medical and dental car insurance. There is also a life insurance which somewhat a good thing to do just in case, if the job is risky enough and a renter insurance to protect your valuable stuff, if you are renting. There is also car insurance where you can get your car get protected just in case of mild and huge accidents. One thing is for sure; of all these insurances, are they cheaper enough to cover all our expenses? I don’t think so. My husband and I had been using the same car insurance company for almost 6 years now, and so far everything went well especially when we had that mild accident five years ago. Since we’ve only had an accident per once ten years and we paid more than what we had cost on the accident. You know what I mean?

An Internet Christmas

T'was the Internet Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Net,
There were hacker's a surfing. Nerds? Yeah, you bet.
The e-mails were stacked by the modem with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Snowman
The newbies were nestled all snug by their screens,
While visions of Java danced in their dreams.
My wife on the sofa and me with a snack,
We just settled down at my rig (it's a Mac).

When out in the Web there arose such a clatter,
I jumped to the site to see what was the matter.
To a new page my Mac flew like a flash,
Then made a slight gurgle. It started to crash!!

I gasped at the thought and started to grouse,
Then turned my head sideways and clicked on my mouse.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
My Mac jumped to a page that wasn't quite clear.

When the image resolved, so bright and so quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick!
More rapid than mainframes, more graphics they came,
Then Nick glanced toward my screen, my Mac called them by name;

"Now Compaq! Now Acer!", my speaker did reel;
"On Apple! On Gateway!" Santa started to squeal!
"Jump onto the circuits! And into the chip!
Now speed it up! Speed it up! Make this thing hip!"

The screen gave a flicker, he was into my "Ram",
Then into my room rose a full hologram!
He was dressed in all red, from his head to his shoes,
Which were black (the white socks he really should lose).

He pulled out some discs he had stored in his backpack.
Santa looked like a dude who was rarin' to hack!
His eyes, how they twinkled! His glasses, how techno!
This ain't the same Santa that I used to know!

With a wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Santa soon let me know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, gave my Mac a quick poke,
And accessed my C drive with only a stroke.

He defragged my hard drive, and added a "Dimm",
Then threw in some cool games, just on a whim!
He worked without noise, his fingers they flew!
He distorted some pictures with Kai's Power Goo!

He updated Office, Excel and Quicken,
Then added a screensaver with a red clucking chicken!
My eyes widened a bit, my mouth stood agape,
As he added the latest version of Netscape.

The drive gave a whirl, as if it were pleased,
St. Nick coyly smiled, the computer appeased.
Then placing his finger on the bridge of his nose,
Santa turned into nothing but ones and zeros!

He flew back into my screen and through my uplink,
Back into the net with barely a blink.
But I heard his sweet voice as he flew from my sight,
"Happy surfing to all, and to all a good byte!"

It’s been almost five years that I haven’t seen my parents, my brother and his family. I still vividly remember the day I took off to fly here in US where I hugged and kissed my mom and dad which I thought it could be my last one. I don’t like the last words I said there but it seems like it. As the years went by, I feel like I can’t able to go home anymore unless I win a lottery ticket with mega million cash prizes. I can able to go home if I go by myself but I can’t do that. I wanted to bring my son with me and my husband so that my parents could see their grandchild as well. I wish it could be that easy to find cheap flights tickets today but it can’t be possible since an airline tickets from US to Philippines really costs a lot of money.

Although, airline tickets costs a lot of money these days but it will never stopped me from looking for cheap flights online. I have found a website where you can get airline tickets at very reasonable prices where you can compare prices at various travel sites at one time. It is so easy to find the lowest tickets that you never know it could be possible. I always told my husband that someday we can able to visit Philippines and see my family once again. Now, I am quite assured that we can able to get an airline tickets that is affordable.

One thing, if we can able to travel for 16 hours all the away to the Philippines, I don’t know if our son can able to survive. He can’t even sit for 20 minutes because he got bored and he needs something to do. Good thing I also found some travel information and guide online.

Tell me all about your holiday gift-giving! To whom to you give gifts? Do you make them or buy them (in stores or online)? Do you have any gift-giving traditions? Do you participate in gift exchanges? Do you share a holiday wish-list with friends and family? Does all of this STRESS YOU OUT?!

Well, same as last year we are just going to give gifts to my parents in law. My husband and I together with his siblings decided not to give each a gift, rather maybe a family gift. Then, we have something on our list for them this year and this is actually the first time that I am going to buy some more gifts since my sister’s family will be coming over for the holiday.
Last Thanksgiving black Friday, I usually bought some from the store. I don’t really order a gift online because I was over with it because of what I experienced last year.

Then, on this coming Sunday, we will be going to a Christmas party, so we will have some gift exchanges there. It could a surprise exchange gift too because you will not know what to get and to whom the gift will be given. It can be by numbers. You pick a number and see what is the gift! It is going to be exciting.

When it comes to sharing a holiday wish list, well only my son of what he wants and need, not us.
Sort of, it stresses me out because I have to find the best deal on gifts so I can save money.

~actually, I used a real bookmark, there's one that is pink with verse on it. I also used a book mark made with metal plates, it's light and it was really made for a bookmark. Then, recently my mother in law gave me a metal gift tag which forms a FAITH, and I use it now as a bookmark too. Sometimes, I do use pen as a bookmark or a piece of paper. Sometimes, I just fold the page of where I left it.

A good Destination for our next Wedding Anniversary

Our wedding anniversary is couple of days away and I was so excited about it. Although, we always have a cold weather during our anniversary, but my husband and I always find a way to enjoy it as much as possible. It is going to be our five years wedding anniversary. I still vividly remember after the day of our wedding we went to two different beach resorts for our honeymoon. It was so fun and unforgettable memory since we almost spent most of our days at the beach when we were there. I love being at the beach, it is so relaxing, especially when you hear the waves of the ocean and enjoy the warm weather.

If we could just fly to the south east region where warmer weather is in during this winter season, I would love to do so. I wish we can go to a beach vacation next time for our wedding anniversary because it is nice to experience the same thing we had before the first time we got married. It is just so sweet to reminisce and bring back those special, wonderful memories of ours. Maybe, we can make another special memory at one of the Myrtle Beach Resorts in South Carolina.

Speaking of beaches, I wish we could go to one of the famous beach resort here in US such as the Beach Resorts Myrtle Beach. I’ve heard that it is the most nice beach resort destination if you are looking for inexpensive vacation. I have seen a lot of hotels, beach resorts, pub, and some shopping malls near Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts and I guess this is absolutely a good destination for our next wedding anniversary. Well, I have to tell husband about it, so we can plan earlier.

~ I have tons I guess. Since I have joined this meme, I have found a lot of interesting books especially from other BTT members. It also made me to read and borrow books as much as I could and enjoy reading them.
Therefore, I'm grateful to be a part of this meme. So, some of my favorite part of Booking Through Thursday is to share what everyone is reading and what not. I participate because it is nice to know about any books in the world that you never thought exists. I also like to know people’s opinion and thoughts about what they read, as well as to get informed about a certain book for me to know if to get it or not.
I am just so glad that this meme exist and I’m looking forward for more Booking Through Thursday theme/topic soon.

Direct TV in FL for less

Yesterday, when I got the mail I received a flyer from Direct TV stating that they were having a holiday special where you can get $100 gift card when you sign up and subscribe to one of their qualifying packages. So, I thought this is a good idea, I wonder if we can able to just cancel our old cable and then get Direct TV instead. Aside from that they also having sale on 150+ all digital channels for only $29.99 a month, this is amazing price for a digital channels and for over 150+ for a year where you can save $26 and you only pay for a buck, that’s fantastic deal.

So I am thinking, are they really serious? So when I read about it at their website, I guess, they are and they were not kidding around. They also give away three months of Starz and Showtime, if you are going to go for their extra packages and even their premier package is now only $60 a month. I can’t wait to tell my husband about because this is truly an amazing deal you can get from other cable television. Directv is absolutely affordable and their price is very reasonable enough that you can forget anything.

Well, I just talked to my friend about two weeks ago where they were already moved into their new house and she thought that they might get a Direct TV in FL for less because she seen the same ad and she asked me if we were using the same TV company and I said no, and she should tell me if what was going on and if it’s really reliable enough. Well, I can’t wait to hear from her though.
