I got a new Internet Security Software today, PC-cillin, and installed it on my computer. After installing it and running a scan, I had over 100 viruses/spyware/malware/adware on my computer. The computer is running much better and is blocking any programs trying to get to the net without my authorization and is blocking anything "Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-56188409291259044232008-05-06T13:14:00.002-05:002008-05-06T13:22:16.287-05:00Weekend Update1. We had an awesome Missions Convention and Banquet. Pastor Rick and Rita Dubose were our special guests for the event. Pastor Rick is the North Texas District Superintendent. We had over $1,000.00 in monthly Missions Commitments. Thank you Church Family for your faithfulness in Missions Giving! 2. She's a great mother. She's a great teacher. She's does a lot at the church as well. She oversees the nursery. She leads the Women's Ministry (In fact, she's hard at work right now on tomorrow's Ladies Brunch.) She is also doing our Sunday Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-64288596016501416072008-05-01T21:44:00.002-05:002008-05-01T21:48:11.207-05:00Mady lost her second toothSasha and I were in the kitchen when Mady came running in with a tooth in her hand. She was playing with Kenzie when it came out. An hour before, I tried diligently to get her to let me pull it. She didn't want any part of that. :) Here's a pic with her new look... Air1 is a national radio station that has affiliates all over the nation. They are based out of California. They are running a contest right now to win a trip to New York City for the premeire of the new Chronicles of Narnia film. Well, I got through. Social Networking uses software to build online social networks for communities of people who share interests and activities or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. There are two networks that are most recognized, myspace and facebook. As with anything on the internet, you have to be careful. What a great Sunday! We had great attendance in both services! We also had really good services. One person made a commitment to Christ. 2. I really enjoyed communicating the message on Passion for the Lost. It is imperative that the American Church fulfill the Great Commission. It is our responsibility to reach the lost. 3. Mavs lost. I'm afraid they are done. I'll go on record Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-42895952620086995912008-04-25T15:20:00.002-05:002008-04-25T15:27:32.427-05:00Top 5 Things I'm Thinking About1. My wife and girls - we had a great time last night and I can't wait for the weekend. I love spending time with them. We have a good time laughing and playing. Mady and Kenzie are both changing so quickly. This weekend's going to be great. 2. Sunday's Message - It's going to be the last installment of the Super Size Me Series. This week is "More Passion." Don't Miss It if you are in the Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-75323177317302362082008-04-23T09:53:00.003-05:002008-04-23T09:59:45.215-05:00After two games....I think it is safe to say......THE SKY IS FALLING. :) The Mavs looked awful last night. IMO, I think they shouldn't trap Chris Paul (CP3). Let CP3 have his 30-40 points, but don't leave the other guys uncovered. When you trap, someone is left opened. In the Hornets case, it is usually Tyson Chandler for an alley oop or Peja for a three. CP3 having 30+ points is not a problem. The problem Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-86795667824024725372008-04-22T16:18:00.002-05:002008-04-22T16:24:44.595-05:00Miscellaneous Musings1. We had a great weekend at Cornerstone. Two of the highlights were seeing 2 hands raised for Salvation and seeing Bobby, Jesseca, the girls and Peyton back in church. :) 2. Mady lost her first tooth yesterday. It is one of the bottom teeth. The tooth has been wiggling around for a couple of weeks. Before school, Sasha had told her that it might come out that day and she was right. 3. Looking forward to tonight's Kids Movie Night at the church. It's going to be fun. 2. I'm exciting about this week's message on Faith. If you're in the Atlanta area, come join us Sunday at 10:30 a.m. 3. The next two weekends are two of the best sports weekends of the year. The beginning of the playoffs and the NFL Draft happen. Miami disappointed me this year. Jesseca called yesterday and said that they were being released and heading back to Texarkana. I just talked with Bobby and they are home and doing great. Peyton was in the hospital for 72 days this time. He had two other stays since he was born. One was a month and the other was two weeks. The first two guys were Brent Williams, my Youth Pastor in High School, and Scott Wilson, my mentor during College. We are in a series entitled "Super Size Me." In 2004, Morgan Spurlock chronicled his 30 Day Journey of eating McDonald's 3 times a day. There are some things we need more if in our life.....fast food is not one of them. The question that I poised to the church is "what if we spent 30 days seeking more of God in our livesRusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-16444916433721211592008-04-11T15:49:00.002-05:002008-04-11T16:01:00.162-05:00Friday's Thoughts1. Kenzie seems to be doing better today. :) 2. Great performance by the American Idol Top 8 of "Shout to the Lord" on the Thursday night results show. I didn't see them do it Wednesday Night. This is a great song. Click here to view the video. 3. I hated to see Michael Johns leave Idol. He has a great bluesy rock voice. His rendition of "Dream On" wasn't great. The first half was. I got a call on Tuesday Morning that my Granny was taken to St. Michael's Hospital. She had a mild heart attack. I spent most of Tuesday at the hospital with the family. She is doing better. They gave her a medicine patch and sent her home today. It was good to see my Dad and sister. They drove in from Central Texas and left today. We don't get to seeRusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-54025906280261477502008-04-08T11:39:00.002-05:002008-04-08T11:45:29.117-05:00Kansas Wins1. Congrats to Kansas fans and fans of the Big 12. Big 12 Basketball is on the rise. There are great players and great coaches in these parts. Memphis was better than I thought they were. Rose is the real deal and will be playing in the NBA next season. 2. I drove to Chandler and hung out with friends last night at San Pedro's. San Pedro's is a great Mexican restaurant. Great weekend! We had a great Men's Breakfast Saturday Morning. I enjoyed the food and the fellowship. Thanks to Rob and Marc for cooking! :) 2. We had a great day yesterday. My friend, Michael Norman, spoke in both services. Sunday Morning, he spoke on our worship to God. Last night, he challenged us regarding our "relationship" with God and not having a form of "religion." Check out this video of the Clark Brothers on American Idol. Their dad was an evangelist. They grew up singing in the church. They combine styles of rock and bluegrass. I was impressed with their boldness and talent. 2. Peyton is doing better. After the procedure to put the button in, he had a couple of rough spells. They now have removed his breathing tube and he is breathing on his Rusty Poseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17314432035493456909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049619942659589572.post-53064313166652183562008-04-01T16:00:00.001-05:002008-04-01T16:02:01.166-05:00PeytonI spoke with Bobby earlier today. Sunday Night, we had one awesome Crawfish Boil at the church. It was awesome. We had some great food and great fellowship. 2. Sasha correctly predicted all 4 Final Four teams. I got 3 of the 4. Texas let me down. :) 3. I'm reading a great book called "Just Walk Across The Room" by Bill Hybels. 4. I'm not Bobby Flay. Tonight, I cooked and made Taco Salads. As of tonight's games, I'm 2 for 2 in predicting the Final Four. You can look at my pre-tournament Final four here. So, UNC and UCLA make it in. Kansas should be Davidson. Texas and Memphis should be a good game. I still like Texas playing in their home state. It's possible that I can go 4 for 4. One of us usually goes and reads the Bible and prays with Mady while the other gets Kenzie into bed. Last Night, Sasha put Mady down. After they had read the Bible, they started talking about a phrase that Sasha's family will say. It started with Sasha's great grandmother, Ma. We had our First PrimeTimer's Luncheon today at the church. Several of our Senior Adults gathered for a Potluck Meal. There was some great food. It was great seeing Justin and Dana again. They were in our student ministry in Chandler. Justin spoke to our students tonight. I enjoyed spending time with them again.
