so this guy commented on my other blog for me to check out his etch a sketches.. they're awesome! and so i got inspired to pick mine up again!

Ed and Clint gave me this Batman Etch-A-Sketch last Christmas.... THEY'RE THE BESSST AND THE COOOOOOLEST!!! THANKS ED AND CLINT!!

As you can see, I got the Homer Etch A Sketch off ebay... After conversion and shipping, it came to $24... EEEEEE I know... Well, it was my first eBay purchase, next time i'll be more careful. I guess I was just really excited to get it..

I find the Homer Etch A Sketch a bit harder to control compared to the regular Etch A Sketch because the knobs are a bit smaller in diameter and further from the edge. Also I noticed that it doesn't draw as dark as the normal one. . . it's still good though!

Anyways, yeah, Homer and Bart look kinda warped, I know, but I'm pretty pleased with it because I can barely draw the simpsons properly using pencil and paper .

so i tried to do an etch a sketch the other day of Wolverine from X-Men... after two attempts I gave up out of frustration. what determination i have! :)

anyways, here's something i did at work.. it's aight. i was trying to do that cube optical illusion, but made slight miscalculation

In the late 1950s, a Frenchman named Arthur Granjean invented the device he called L'Ecran Magique, or "The Magic Screen." The Ohio Art Company adopted the patent, developed the toy's now-classic shape and color, and renamed the magic screen "Etch A Sketch." Since the Etch A Sketch first went on the market in 1960, over 100 million children (and adults) in 67 countries have been drawn to its irresistible white knobs for endless hours of etching fun and meditative discovery.

The reverse side of the glass screen is coated with a mixture of aluminum powder and plastic beads. The left and right knobs control horizontal and vertical rods that move a stylus where the two meet. When the stylus slides through the powder, it scrapes the screen leaving the line you see. Shaking the device re-mixes the powder, thus clearing the screen.

this is a CLASSIC etchAsketch. It's one of the very first ones i did way back in high school in Grade 12, where I realised that I was good at it. I remember I did this while a group of us were working on this video for the Canada First Robotics Competition, which apparentely no longer exists. i know what you're all thinking.. NERD ALERT!!! I know i know - hellloooo i'm making a blog about etchAsketches! that's probably the Nerdiest thing I have ever heard of!!

haha, k so i made this in third year. I was applying for a position at P&CC (Publishing and Copy Centre - on campus) for a graphic designer, so i brought this to my interview. I almost erased it by accident without taking a picture . It says "please hire me P&CC Felise". Anyways, i didn't get the graphic designer job b/c i didn't do as well in the graphic designer interview, but i DID get the regular job there! i think my etchAsketch made me stick out among the many other applicants ;)
