Great post, Lee, which brought back a lot of memories.

We had a riot in Thornton Heath in 1981; not quite as poor as Brixton, but still pretty deprived - actually 26 years on it still has a 'frontier' atmosphere.

The situation wasn't helped by the fact that the youth wing of the NF had their HQ just off Kynaston Road (amusingly, they had a black and white cat).

Great post! All I managed to do was post a song :( I’m going to use the "I let the music do the talking" defence. Seriously, it’s hard to write a piece like this without being preachy or clichéd so well done.
