I think that's a common feeling among many high-end attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, and technical consultants that we've spoken to over the past few months. It's not that these professionals don't have anything valuable to say, they're just not sure how best to get started. All you need to do is jump online and post what you had for Josh Milesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20243693.post-37533501494127541982009-05-10T15:18:00.006-04:002009-05-20T11:21:22.129-04:00Visual Hierarchy at the SupermarketLast night I was at a major grocery store outside of San Diego. Most of the aisles looked like what you see above... After experiencing this, I'm considering writing a series on visual hierarchy. This same problem applies to branding, website design, and marketing in general. My premise: if all of the products on the shelf are red, bold and tagged, then is anything actually important? I don't know much about their business, but we did meet a young guy who was staying there for the week. He said group rooms were about twenty bucks a night. Unlike traditional western hotels, hostels generally have room for more people who share a group room. You probably immediately thought of one or two competitors. Your clients-to-be often ask you about them. They pitch all of the same accounts that you're pitching. Even the not-for-profit world has competition. With my impressive powers of deduction, I have surmised that next year will be 2010... Yikes. So my question is, when 2010 rolls around, where do you want your business to be? Of course if you're paying any attention to the media, you may have noticed things in the marketplace these days are potentially challenging at best. Our group traveled to Tampico, Mexico to meet with local pastors, and help pour concrete floors the old-fashioned way. (Back then, a website alone was enough!) I'm bound to get some of this backwards, since I haven't seen the film, but here goes... Cloverfield is a story about some kind of monster/alien/sea creature that attacks New York. Much like it's occult-themed predecessor, the story is said to be Josh Milesnoreply@blogger.com1
