I enjoyed reading this post and looking at the pictures. The gooseberry in syrup is what we call stewed cherries. In the V.I., it's mostly eaten around Carnival time along with stewed tamon (tamarind). I LOVE tamon!! The sweet and sour/tangy combination makes my taste buds dance! lol!!Kevanoreply@blogger.com
