It was all not planned at all. Paulo was away the whole week, and I didn't want to spend my birthday alone.

So I invited a couple of friends just for a drink... don't know how, but that turned out in the end to be almost 20 people at home celebrating with me!

I thank you all who surprised me with this! It was just unforgettable!!!

Its not only on Father's day that you should get your father a nice dinner out, but everyday! And its not only on Valentine's that you should celebrate the love you have, but all the time!

Today, although it is not her birthday, neither any other special date, I want to honor the most special and beautiful woman I ever met in my life: my mother. Unfortunately she is not with us anymore, but her memory will always stay alive within so many hearts and minds that had the pleasure to meet her.

When you are busy on your daily activities, when you don't have much time to even keep in touch with your friends and family, just remember that every day of your life is a day gone away that you won't get back ever. So, you should make the best possible of every day, treasure your true friends, love your family and try to spread positive energy like my mother did every day of her life.

Remember to be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. Live life as much as possible... and spread some love while you are at it!

Its March... do you remember your New Year's resolution(s)?

Usually already by end of January, whether because I shouldn't set goals when drunk with champagne, or because the cold and gray weather outside suck the happiness out of my soul, I don't think much of those goals I was so sure I'd make happen this year-round.

Now we are almost half-way in March 2008, and I think this is the first year in my life I am proud to find this time I'm actually following my New Year's resolutions!

However, for all of you who find no time to think about them, and don't realize the months going-by due to so much work and personal activities, I advice you to have a read on this article that inspired and motivated me back in January, making me persistent and feeling more happy now. Here's a sum up of their tips (but have a read at the whole article, specially on the last tip):

The 3 months: wow!

I can't believe I neglected this blog in the past 3 months!

When, in fact, so much happened (and maybe that is why I didn't feel like writing about it all).

My parties have been a success, I continue to meet new people all the time, been traveling more then ever before, had plenty of fun with friends and have my heart completely taken away by Martina, a woman who has showed me why you shouldn't give up on love!

Again, photos express more then words, so here it goes some highlights for the past 3 months :)

GAMEPLAY 2007

I was invited, by my sweet friend Nienke, to join in UBISOFT's VIP area at the GAMEPLAY 2007, which happened this last Sunday 26th in Utrecht.

I was expecting to find a nice venue with some entertainment, but when she brought me there I couldn't believe it, it was a heaven for gamers (which some of you don't know I am, others know I'm addicted to it!).

Besides huge beautiful stands from several publishers, famous gaming shops and lots of consoles available for everyone's pleasure, there were events going on everywhere, tons of gamers walking around, live competitions and, what is becoming a de facto, lots and lots of beautiful booth babes.

In fact, I noticed it was more about the babes then anything else. Besides sexy and always tight-clothing, they were everywhere and all gamers were asking constantly to take photos. Even Nienke, who was showing me the whole venue, dressed with her sexy outfit, was being asked on photos...!

I had a lot of fun, thanks really for the pleasure of being VIP at UBISOFT's stand, with nice DJs playing all time long, even more when knowing Marlon, from the BED parties, was responsible for the design of the stand and the idea of the VIP area!

And thanks to both Marlon and Nienke, I was allowed to go behind the fences and watch close by the Booth Babe Year 2007 Award competition.

Nienke, thank you so much (oh yeah, we agreed to not say that anymore), but I have to scream it: this was really cool!

Team Building Event 2007

I don't talk much about my work in my own blog, but at the department where I work we've been quite busy last months rolling-out a big project, which we finally achieved! And besides celebrating that, we had again something which hasn't happened for a while: a day of the department, i.e. a team-building event.

This time, besides every team describing what they do and what is happening, we went afterwards to (what I think it is) the best restaurant in Amsterdam, at the Okura Hotel.

It was a blast to have fun with the people I work with, and this experience was unforgettable!

This multi-talented resident of Casino Royale is still going strong
in the Dutch dance scene. With his new project SOUND OF LOVE, a series

This virtuoso is known for legendary productions on big clubs as Lexion.
His energic club style is the best description of DIRTY DELUXE sound.

SWINGKINGS

I have to update more frequently my blog, I know it but just haven't been able to keep it up. So much went on in October, besides completely busy at work, was also really fun with friends and parties.

Some of the most precious moments are below. But keep checking my website. Next edition of Casino Royale is a week away and LOLLYPOP is already planned (this time without the problems we had last time) and promising a lot!

I think I will never forget it. September 2007 was a month full of emotions, where I had a tough period, which turned out to be the best learning experience I went through in life, but where at the same time I had a lot of fun, specially while enjoying the single life.

It was also when I finally moved to Paulo's new apartment, an amazing place which gives me a comfort I don't remember ever having since I moved to Holland. It is gorgeous and irresistible, I feel really happy for him owning such an incredible place, and of course lucky for me to be also living there!

What a month!!! I feel I have found the most important thing in my life on September 2007... but is something so deep that I cannot share it. However be sure I'll always scream this: September 2007, thank you!!! ;-)

This year we had (what I think it is) the worst summer in Amsterdam, ever since I moved here 7 years ago, and although no one admits it, we could feel the weird vibe going around: I basically stopped counting how many people were doing crazy (not normal) things (myself included), and how many couples broke up (myself included also).

However, now that the summer (that actually never happened) is ending it seems everyone is on the loose, and totally eager to have as much fun as possible! So September is now sounding like perfect! Every single weekend of this month I already have parties arranged with groups of friends, promising memories of pure joy :-)

Last weekend's Friday I had the pleasure of going out with Joanne, Bram, Maria and Claudette. We had a blast at Club Pitch and ended up drinking way too much and dancing like crazy. So wild!

On Saturday all our friends met at Paula's birthday, in hers and Rutger's new place near Nieuwmarkt. Their apartment is beautiful and the location is stunning. I was in conflict of leaving or staying as both ways sounded nice... I ended up taking a ride with Knowledje to go to the BED party, where we celebrated Marlon's birthday and danced to Erick E's amazing rythms! So so cool!

And not enough, other sweet surprises of that evening was having Joanne coming by to meet us and dance with us (after all, she is a dancing goddess I love to dance with), and also JB and Aline were there with a big group of French friends (uhhmmm, Aline can I get that girl's number? eheheheh, joking...) ;-)

This weekend is starting tonight, and I'm not allowed to say what/where I'm going to do/be tonight, but today will go by easy in the expectation for tonight's madness!

Uuuuhhh... this September is looking sooooo sweet!

Portugal summer holiday

Since I moved to Amsterdam, 6 years ago, I mostly only go back to Portugal for a few days, for some family affairs. Only occasionally I've been there for longer then 5 days.

This year, when planning vacation with Miss C., going there was one of the suggestions that came up... and what a perfect one!

This vacation was simply unforgettable, and I experienced Portugal in a really relaxing and satisfying way, which never happened so intensively before!

We visited Lisbon, where I grew up, but from a tourist point of view (as I was showing everything to Miss C. who has never been there before). There was no time to visit family or friends, albeit a few exceptions (it was so great to see Diana, David and Lucas!! Also really nice to meet with my cousins in Algarve).

Gay Pride Parade 2007 Amsterdam - the after :-)

It has always been fun, and this year's was no exception.

I had the pleasure of watching the parade from Paulo's (eBuddy) boat, where we could almost touch the boats passing by (and I actually did cheer with several of them). This was such an experience, thanks to Paulo, Onno and JJ!

The boats of the parade were so colorful and lively, giving everyone such a good vibe! Not only were there gays-and-lesbian-themed, but also political and commercial boats, all having a blast while showcasing their messages. There was even a Mini driving at the canals! And while the afternoon went on, we drinked so much that I didn't even see the disaster coming. The rest of the afternoon/evening was a sequence of fun events of which, unfortunately, I can't remember much! I had a lot of fun, and I had TOO much fun... a reminder to go easy the next time(s). However, I was amazed at the whole group that we turned out to be, massive and invading a huge part of the Chemistry party at the Amstelveld! So cool! So so so cool! Can't wait for next year's. :-)

Now I need to prepare for a vacation with Miss C. in Portugal, where I'll finally enjoy some sun. I'll keep you posted, of course ;-)

Gay Pride Parade 2007 Amsterdam

This is an event that I never miss. The center of Amsterdam gets crowded with people from everywhere, eager to check the boat parade in the canals (full of crazy and colorful gay and straight people dancing and cheering), and later meeting at the street parties!

This year we'll start Saturday by enjoying the parade on a boat, amongst all other party boats, and around 17:00-18:00 we'll be a huge group dancing at the Chemistry party in Amstelveld (the place to be!) so you know where to go and join us ;-)

One thing that I love to have with me at every moment is my own PSP. Ever since I bought it almost two years ago, never again have I had a dull or boring moment. This is an amazing thing to carry with you. This video describes perfectly what I mean, so I won't explain anymore just look at it :-)

The only thing you have to watch out is to not get lost. Several times I missed my stop when playing with it at the train or bus and only realized it when arriving at its last destination... I know you are probably thinking that I must be crazy.... but, didn't you knew that already?

Health treatments in Holland will finally improve

Following the articles about 1700/year unnecessary deaths and problems in Holland due to mistakes in hospitals, it seems we might finally see something start to improve soon.

That's the thing I love about this country, awareness of problems normally leads to actions, sometimes even to their solutions!

Summer is really not helping us much on enjoying some quality time with friends, forcing everyone to avoid open spaces which are always so traditional on this time of the year, so I'm really happy to invite you to this new edition of Casino Royale.

Too busy to notice...

Don't you just have those periods in your life when you are doing so much that you loose control and just go with the flow?

Is it so that when I try to do everything I want to do, I just can't keep track of all that is happening, so I must let it go and see what happens?

Should we experience life as it goes, or should we try to harness the power back into our own hands? Which of those options is really the best?

I don't know, but I certainly like the feeling that, even though I don't have control, life just seems to help me along the way by itself, making me feel happy as I've never been... and I should just enjoy it.

Will it last?... I hope so! :-)

CINEAC : the opening of a new club in town

I was invited for the grand opening of the CINEAC's "Play" party, last Friday the 8th!

CINEAC is a new club, just by Rembrandtplein, in front of movie teather Tuschinski.

It was crowded with beautiful people, and the decoration is a delight for the eyes. It promises a lot for this summer, probably you'll see me talking more about this club in the next months ;-)

Spiegelgracht concert

Last Saturday I was honoured to be present at the annual Spiegelgracht Concert, sponsored by Paulo's eBuddy and also Pasta e Basta. Besides the Navy band, there were several singers contributing to an afternoon of music by the canals of Amsterdam.

I can't tell enough about this: it was an extraordinary concert, completely packed with fun people, where most of our closest friends also joined in on the fun! The weather was helping to set a perfect afternoon of sun, there were constant food and drinks passing by, dozens of boats clogging the canals, and the vibe all around was simply incredible.

Afterwards, as if the concert was not enough, we had the after-party at eBuddy's headquarters, where they set tents on their beautiful back-garden, with BBQ and drinks never-ending, as well as DJ and dance-floor!

If only I could find words to describe how much fun I had... congrats to everyone involved in this, it was simply unforgettable!!
