Just a few posts ago - I wrote about the Falcons and how their former Coach Petrino up and left midseason leaving them for dead.

Well in less than a year the team is back and has made it to the play offs - what an amazing feat.

Under their new rookie Coach Smith and rookie quarter back Matt Ryan, they have shown the world what a first class team made up of decent guys of charcter can do.

As we count days to the end of the year, we have to say in many ways this has been a year like no other with;

The worst Global Economy in decades.

The historic US election as Americans voted in the first Black President and a son of an immigrant, President Barack Obama.

In all these up's and downs we also thank God for seeing us thorough these times as we look forward to a very hopeful future.

After 2 months of absolute chaos the leaders Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga have agreed to a power sharing agreement. This has come after about 1,000 Kenyans lost their lives and hundreds of thousands displaced.

It will take a long time to get the country back to where it was again and the wounds are still very fresh and will scar our lives for many years to come. We can only hope and wish for better and that we can all get along and follow the very telling and wise words of our National Anthem.

Long Live KENYA and proud to be a Kenyan.

Ever wondered how a coward looks like? Combine that with a selfish traitor and you got Bobby Petrino, former coach of the Falcons who left the team mid-season high and dry after only 13 games in a 3-10, lost season for Arkansas University.

Not even have the common desency to address his team but to write a one paragraph note and stick it in the locker room and only for the players to watch him on TV accepting his new gig. He talked to his players about never quitting and playing the entire 4 quarters and now he just ups and goes???

If that happened in Africa, parts of Europe, Latin America and especially Colombia, his head would be up for grabs... Out there fans don't play...

Well I hope his new employer got a snippet of exactly what they hired on their roster.. A cold & selfish coward...

Hi there friends, this has to be the funniest picture I have seen in a while, below are the 3 front runners Democratic Presidential Candidates...

Just when I was thinking how the black folks here in the US have lost an entire generation of young people and are in danger of losing more generations to come. Older black people in the US are fairly well cultured, very well mannered and speak good English. They dress well are respectable and not at all arrogant - with all these good things they have failed to pass these on to their kids and a spoilt generation has come of age and are now getting their own kids..

No dress code, pathetic use of the English language and total disrespect of the law just to name a few. So my tic toc mind went to work and started to wonder how and when did this happen?? I came to one conclusion; In each one of us we have mutiple personalities depending on the situation at hand, for example when with friends watching a ball game, at home with the family, at work etc... We also have another inner side of us that we really are in the bedroom with our loved ones and many a times this part is kept very close to us..

Many respectable people in society, top doctors, judges and politicians are probably freaks in the bedrooms but they switch this off and behave appropriately in public - in a round-a-bout way the BLACK FOLK in the US have let their sexual side take over and this is spreading like a wild fire being fueled by the HIP HOP culture, magazines, movies which all have become very sexual..

We have turned to our crotches... what a better depiction on this picture... Obama though was perhaps assuming a very humbel position and he is infact one the more polished people in the whole world and I'd say this was just a bad coincidence BUT a great illustration at what has and is wiping out generations in the US and the other parts of the world that take and copy the western culture..

All in all a great month for the black race... Here, I'll be going on a limp and simply commenting on a topic that I'm not too passionate about but worth noting... It has been a great February for the black race in America;

For the first time there was 2 black coaches in the Super Bowl & Prince perfomed.
Serena Willams winning the Aussie Open coming in unranked and from nowhere..
Barrack Obama throws in the hat for the '08 Presidential bid..
Tiger Woods keeps his winning ways alive and looking sharp, did I also mention he's expecting a baby too in Summer.
Forest Whitaker takes home the best actor academy award for his role as Idi Amin of Uganda.
Jennifer Hudson wins an Oscar for the best supporting Actress.
BJ celebrates his birthday & gets a promotion too, Amen to that.

So thanks be to God for all things are possible with him at the helm..

Another black hawk down today, This makes 5 choppers down in the last 3 weeks.. This particular one in particular left 7 dead..

So just when will these Politicians realize that this is a lose-lose situation and count their losses and leave with some dignity still left..

Thousands of families have now lost a loved one and/or is maimed for life... & yet the solution this late in the game is a troops surge, hell no. This only increases the target and expect more loss of life... Remember everyone & everything that moves or is still in Iraq can explode any minute, so unless you wipe out the entire country, there is no victory in sight..

Tough First Work Week..

This has to go down in history as one of the toughest first work week in history...

First, just recovering from being on vacation the last 2 weeks of December where I was used to sleeping in and getting enough rest.
Then these baggers killed Saddam then the video is all over the net and I had a look at it and it just messed my already otherwise emotional psyche on all that crap.
This meant I lost sleep and I needed to get up early to go to work.
Not done yet, I find out from work that I will going to some of the coldest city's in the world for 3 weeks on duty. Just a week ago the airports there were shut down due to the winter blizzards. My Kenyan blood was not made for that type of conditions. Dang...
Did I mention all bills are always somehow due in the first week of January?

And yet in all this I have my head up high and my swagger on like 'Hakuna Matata', it's a problem free philosophy..

Hi everyone, I know we all make a call to the one high up above at one time or another. I will be walking in for a root canal in about an hour and am not excited at all...

The only upside is I will be able to eat & feel better on Christmas day..

Another reason for a prayer, of course, tis the season as we all celebrate the birth of christ.. And also as we usher in a new year and thank God for the past year.

Came of a great weekend. Was out there with a bunch of friends playing AJUA in some friendly competition and came out tops... Finally the fruits of my hard work paying off in a big way...

Guys, I literally missed this bus altogether, now the big ticket item this Christmas besides the new Elmo is the PS 3. I have a PS 2 that I bought last year solely for the reason that I needed to have one in the house. I have used it twice for a total time of 20 minutes...

What happened to going to the arcades to play games. Growing up in Nairobi as a teeneager in the 80's, I used to go to Playland & Pop-in along Moi avenue. Those days we also had to keep an eye on Mr. Shaw the most feared plain clothes policeman who was on the lookout with any kids in school uniform playing machines... Those were the good old days and then walk over to Wimpy on Kenyatta Avenue and hang out with a coke & a burger, now that was a hot dating joint... Pop-In was below Burgerland across the street from the Big Barlcays Bank on Kenyatta Avenue...

So for all you new generation PS 2's & 3's.... enjoy and hope that laggards like us will catch on pretty quick...

Today happens to be my Dad's birthday and I'd like to stop for a minute and wish him a very happy birthday.. My Dad has been very supportive of us (the kids) and has worked hard & sacrificed a lot to see that we are all happy & well educated.
