I know many have stated support for a deadline, but how many have actually proposed a specific deadline? Kerry has, for one, but I'm not sure how many others have.jhupphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11432361403415775826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19686321.post-1146258913924814392006-04-28T14:15:00.000-07:002006-04-28T14:15:00.000-07:00Chad and Carl - you both ask a legitimate question...Chad and Carl - you both ask a legitimate question and it needs to be asked of Cantwell. I have tried to point out in my blog that there is not a lot of specificity in the Amendment passed and that those who voted to pass it, now need to make something more happen. The amendment represents a shift, in getting a commitment to move to bring the troops home and put Iraq on notice that we intend to leave.

But without target dates and goals, like preasented in the proposal at the end of the blog, there is no accountability. Without accountability it can just become election year cover.

For those that want the war to end, it becomes an opportunity to try to get more commitment. Right now I agree, Cantwell's position is a two sentence sound bite, not a plan.Steve Zemkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06767021193068077747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19686321.post-1146204328868756602006-04-27T23:05:00.000-07:002006-04-27T23:05:00.000-07:00I'm not sure what to make of "a year of transition...I'm not sure what to make of "a year of transition." I mean how do you make it happen and what are you transitioning to are pretty big things that get left out of the discussion. Also, I'm not sure how her position is different than Bush's well stand down when they stand up nonsense. I'll vote for her because I do genuinely like her on many issues and as a Senator, and because I think a Kennedy lead Foreign Relations Committee is a key to getting out of the war.Carlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04855026310576183551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19686321.post-1146188550595663512006-04-27T18:42:00.000-07:002006-04-27T18:42:00.000-07:00Steve, Just what does "A Year of Transition" mea...Steve,
Just what does "A Year of Transition" mean?
