My snowy landscape is increasing in depth today with freshly, falling snow; still coming down. Because it was so cold and I went so far, there was no-one out there but me (rare in my bit of my crowded little country!) and it was marvellous. The best bit was watching huge flocks of Lapwings and Golden Plovers swooping and wheeling against the sky as they thought about settling on the stubble. Just beautiful.Azziriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05171386654049544743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19608656.post-41030110221094081762008-02-04T02:16:00.000-05:002008-02-04T02:16:00.000-05:00Ahhh...sigh...I needed that. We have a field down the street we affectionately call South Dakota--because of its waving, waist-deep grasses.
Will you keep an eye on the Luna moth--that would be so beautiful to observe! I kept a cecropia cocoon on the back porch--one day, she was on the screen of the door, ready to go! Such a treat to see the giant moths.ninahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07888238636692649668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19608656.post-17282409406619930082008-02-03T22:28:00.000-05:002008-02-03T22:28:00.000-05:00There are few pleasures greater than an unexpected...There are few pleasures greater than an unexpectedly mild winter day and a walk with friends.

Thank you for sharing the walk with us.ncmountainwomanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00615765649828716560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19608656.post-88091187965517994632008-02-03T21:47:00.000-05:002008-02-03T21:47:00.000-05:00I really needed that walk. And Chet's tocks and hunting skills shown so well. I can only dream of letting my two off-lead in the fields. At least they get home-made stew in their kibble. They're not completely deprived.

Lovely post, Julie.
