Well Bill gets two Hayull Yeah's from me! Especially considering I had to cook Thanksgiving dinner on one leg with no volunteers from those of the masculine persuasion in this household. I really can't complain too much though, my dearly beloved brings the eggs in from the hen house as well as the firewood to keep us warm and snug all winter.

Here in Pennsylvania only the State run Liquor Stores carry wine or liquor. I've only heard about the Trader Joe's deals on wine in other states. Would love that. As for cooking, I love it, but dinner comes at the worst time of the day when I'm too tired to cook. I really appreciate it when someone just makes me a sandwich. My husband is great at doing the dishes and foot rubs, but not the cooking or keeping track of the comings and goings of everyone in the family.

Oh, Trixie, we drive two hours to the nearest Trader Joe's in Easton. It'll be a cold day in Hayull when Marietta has a TJ's--although Parkersburg just got a Borders!! which didn't eat up any new real estate, but went into an old grocery store (yay). There's been rumbling about a Target in Mineral Wells for the past five years, but we've yet to see the red bull's eye. Baker sez hey have the best dog clothes. When all is said and done it's worth it to make the drive to Columbus, especially because there's also an Apple store and a Smith and Hawken store, and an Origins store, and now my eyes are rolling back in my head. Good thing all that is two hours away.

Ah, New Mexico. I went there two years ago on a quasi painting, follow Georgia O'Keeffe trail, see what all the rock and desert fuss was about trip and I just fell in love with it....I didn't get farther south than Alberquerque, though--now I want to go back and see more. Beautiful posts. You must feel filled up with beauty. great feeling....ah, again, and thanks for the pictures, literal and imagined.

Wine, any kind, is fine, but I prefer reds. In whites, I prefer sauvignon blancs and in summer a nice light pinot grigio. Chardonnays and white zinfandels are too sweet n' fruity for me. Yesterday I was hunkered down in our wine cellar (which is a couple of cardboard wine cases in a cool corner of the basement) pulling bottle after bottle up and saying, "yecch, yecch, yechh, oh, OK." That's when I know it's time to head for Trader Joe's.
