I'm at it again...reading the archives! I was wondering if you'd get to David Carroll. Another one of my amazing neighbors. I have to admit whenever I see him in the bookstore or grocery story 'in town' I feel a little starstruck. Such a wonderful writer and artist. There's a stretch of road on my way to the 'transfer station' that always makes me imagine him mucking along quietly, turtle radar on full blast, then heading home for a martini. I was quite proud to hear the news myself when it came out. Cheers to you both!

Julie,

I would never have guessed that Larry would be able to be so free and friendly. I have known him through the bird carving community for years. Most people in that community find him a little cool. I got an inkling that there was much to him when I took a sculpture making class from him. I could tell that he really enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge, which as you know is endless.

Oh Julie,
This is beautiful. My eyes are brimming. Here is to goodness and following one's passion rewarded in a material way. I am sure the money is no where near the reward he gets from being in the swamps and listening, observing and being.
But it sure does help with the health insurance.
I feel that this award is silently sending it's blessing out to all of us who are quietly following our passion and observing the glories of nature in our own ways.
