As you read from the post Vitamin A acts as a Vitamin D antagonist. However, beta carotene from vegetables or supplements is converted by the body to Vitamin A as needed.<BR/><BR/>If your eating a healthy diet, with a good supplement program, getting adequate physical activity, and keeping your sugars in check this would more than compensate for the minimal benefits you would gain from supplemental Vitamin A. <BR/><BR/>A lot of vitamins have redundant functions, meaning that the body can use other nutrients/vitamins to take the place of a missing nutrient. Vit. A from retinyl palmitate and 4,000 I.U. from beta carotene. Does this mean we should stop using this multi vitamin because of the retinyl palmitate?
