As far as my understanding is, friendconnect isn't really even in beta phase yet. I don't know of a single person who's got a beta, and believe me if there was anyone I would know them.

@Darren: Well I haven't used it, because I haven't got into the beta yet [and I don't know of anyone who has]. But what I've read about it has made me interested, and if I start using it I'll definitely write about it here.

@ Genox: Well, I'd say major changes are already here. =) In the past 4 days one of the main topics appearing on my RSS reader has been the current fight between Facebook and Google Friend Connect. While it is the case that Google's Friend Connect will only access "your" data if "you" want it to, so it's you making the decisions [supposedly!], but Facebook still goes far enough to say NO to it.

I completely agree. In addition to that, I don't think that most networks will be able to operate forever. Advertisement - the only realistic way to finance R&D and operation of a platform - revenues are going to drop because there's just too much places to advertise, hence the exposure time and attention ads receive drowns - not speaking of the fact that most users simply don't care about ads at
