This is a figure that I am working on this weekend: a soldier from 352nd Infantry Division in Normandy 1944. It's now halfway finished except the rifle sling and the grenade tucked to the waist belt. Will post the finished image when it's done. It's been snowing here in Toronto this week, well finally. So apart from painting, my other job is to clear the snow in front of my house:-(

I had been drawing more soviet tanks than anything in the last few years. Most of them are T-34s and KVs. Here's a KV that I'd drawn last year, it's a KV1 model 1940 s ekranami (with appliqué), or KV1-E. Armed with a F-32 gun, it was manned by a crew of 5. At the start of the German invasion, the German Army had few weapons that could knock out these KV tanks because of it's thick armour.

Have just finished adding more details to the painting of Rudel's Ju87G Stuka which I'd posted a while back. I did some modification to the plane's tail and changed the tanks in the background from T-34/76 to T-34/85. Posted here are images of the updated painting.

Have been working on this Tiger II profile drawing last week. This is a Tiger II from the Schwere Panzerabteilung 505 with their unique marking of a charging knight on horseback. The heavy tank battalion was formed in January 1943 and fought at Kursk, refitted with Tiger II in 1944 and continue fighting at the Eastern front. Posted today is one of my boxart projects for wargamming figures. It depicts a team of Terek Cossacks raiding a German supply depot. To me, the cossacks has always been an interesting subject matter ( same as the Polish cavalry ) especially they are a dramatic contrast to the weapons and machines used in that period.

Here are some more images of the Tiger II project: More work is done with the background sky. Detail of the Flak 88 is added and is moved more to the right. Also the rough linework of the soldiers on the left is added back to the image. The soldiers and the tank commander are almost finnished. This is a painting I had done a few years back. It's about the 2nd Rangers scaling the cliff of Pointe du Hoc during D-day, 1944. Their mission was to destroy the German batteries on top of the cliff but finding the guns were moved away when they finally got to the top. Here's another painting that I am working at the moment, a Marine at Guadalcanal. I haven't paint the trees at the background yet and the clouds needed to be more refine. For the Marine uniform, more detail will be needed to enhance the look and texture of the herringbones jacket. This will be part of my military art series of US soldiers.
