And unfortunately, I don't think the health care advantages of incorporating would do me any good -- because of my diabetes, health insurance companies can (and will) refuse to cover me unless obliged to do so under a group plan. Right now I have health insurance through my husband's job, and that is basically the only option available to me!

That being said, I'm sure incorporation would be advantageous to many other writers. I'll post the comment in the hopes that someone can benefit from your advice!Katharine Swanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16805523619692744514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19555277.post-19018723131710030952007-09-14T20:50:00.000-06:002007-09-14T20:50:00.000-06:00Wandered over here from Deborah's page. You still file quarterly taxes, but there are some deductions (full health care, if done properly) here not available to self-employed and Subchapter S (I'm not familiar with LLC -- it wasn't an option in my state when I incorporated 16 years ago -- primarily for health care deduction).

For more information, writers can consult with SCORE counselors at many local universities.Philnoreply@blogger.com
