In case you guys didn't know MSTRKRFT will be releasing their new album, Fist of God, in March. The date on their myspace is March 17th 2009, check it out if you want to see what they have been up to.

The dynamic duo from the electronic world…also called Canada...that brought you Easy Love, The Look, and their latest single BOUNCE and VuVuVu are back at it again. Fresh off their tour, The Fist of God, they are ready to release what will be their second album full of original content. So no more listening to their remixes of The Kills, Bloc Party, Wolfmother, and Chromeo, to name a few…ok listen to those too, but be on the look out for the new album, Fist of God. Now true I have not heard it, but if BOUNCE is a tease of what is to come…I am on board! So keep an eye out for the new album. Go check out their myspace and keep checking back on the Dim Mak blog for any updates.

Ok now here is the scoop, your new fave band from the Dim Mak label will be From Monument to Masses, or FMTM, as their fans know them. They are a trio that calls San Fran and New York home. Their sound can be described as a mash-up of progressive post-punk meets pop, electronic with the break beats of hip hop and soul...or as I like to call it, kick ass awesome music. They definitely bring a different sound to what people would consider rock to be. I love music that can stand alone and create its own genre. FMTM definitely defies categorization, you never know what you are going to get.

I think the band themselves describe their music best on their homepage:

"From Monument to Masses is complex and hypnotic post-punk engineered to act as a revolutionary cultural force in service of the People. The band, the sampled sounds, and the music itself call for international Peoples' histories to be revisited and for any provoked indignation to be acted upon.
Highly influenced by the likes of Fugazi to Tortoise, Afrika Bambata to DJ Shadow, Don Caballero to Godspeed You Black Emperor, FMTM challenges the audience with epic compositions that abandon conventional song structure. Listen, question, act, repeat."

Definitely check out their new album, On Little Known Frequencies, which is released on March 10th 2009 on the Dim Mak label. This is their first studio album, with new material since their release in 2003 labeled The Impossible Leap in One Hundred Simple Steps. I know, long name, but that shouldn't stop you from listening to them. So go and check out their Myspace!!!

Your MUST for this Year to see and hear

If you haven't been noticing or listening then you don't know that you should be listening to The Bloody Beetroots. You know...the Spider Man mask wearing duo. Lately they have been blowing up and doing a lot of remixes for some well known artists, such as Tiga, Robyn, and the All American Rejects. I suggest picking up their last release Rombo and while you are doing that go check out their video for the latest single and EP Cornelius. These two are a definite to go check out when they head into your town. Just look for those distinctive Spider Man masks behind the turntables. At the moment they will be touring over in Europe, now don't worry I am sure they will head into the US, so be patient!

Their latest remix is for Heads Up! by Sound of Stereo, you can catch this at Sound of Stereo's myspace page. So don't forget to put this down in your to-do list…Must purchase Rombo and Cornelius and MUST MUST MUST see them when they come into your hometown.

The clip intertwines the real Bloody Beetroots life style with the oniric dimension of the nightmare. A tale without any redemption, an absolute neorealism under strobe lights, an out-and-out social piece, a vortex without ideology…practically the era of the rotten apples without any dialogue.
Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, the satyr, the man without face, the iconoclast, lives his umpteenth reincarnation and he does it trying to escape from a clumsy dream inhabited by vampirized characters (Tommy Tea, Steve Aoki, Mon Colonel, Crookers, LA Riots etc.etc.). It is a noir back-of-the-scene activity, where the maximum aspiration is the flash of a camera from the social blogs. Editing and photography follow the rhetoric and the fil rouge of “Smack My Bitch Up” from Prodigy, where the dodecaphonic histerya of the international parties shot by Mark “Cobrasnake” is added.

Steve has a new remix of "Haus of Cards" by Weird Science out!! The track has a great melodic intro with awesome keyboard tectonics. Steve added his own touch by including heavy electro beats right at the center. The ending is suspenseful as tingling keyboard sounds stream down along with amplified rip-roaring house electronica. the overall track is awesome and was actually voted top three songs from his Ibiza Essential Mix!!

Infamous for putting out familiar LA electro goodies, these guys have remixed everything from The Ting Tings to Digitalism. Alongside are Posse the DJ and The Spys! .....was a-effing-mazing! Really, it was everything and more you can expect from these guys. Felix Cartel started off the show right with some awesome technics under his sleeve. LA Riots dropped past favorites and some newbies like their Ting Tings remix. SOOO special guest??!! A-Trak! Wow what a dynamic set! I've never heard a more diverse range of genres. Everything from JUSTICE to LIL Wayne..awesome. Then of course, MSTRKRFT turned on their TV screens and got the anticipated crowds going ape-shit. Neon Nights, VUVUVU, B.O.U.N.C.E, all the goodies got fans pumped. It was just one big party and EVERYONE was expected dance. Tonight, the guys hit San Diego, which should be just as incredible. The Bloody Beetroots have done a killer job in turning this lyrical rock single into an electro frenzy track. Their spin on the song has been getting rave reviews and definitely gaining mass popularity. The remix is completely on the other side of the spectrum compared to Shitdisco's original track. it's intensity, electro-rhythmic sequence of beats, and somewhat "Rock N Roll touch" truly makes this track special.
