Tomorrow marks the 7-year anniversary of the unsolved murder of the late, great Jam Master Jay (real name: Jason Mizell) from Run DMC fame. As you may now be accustomed to, we ask our OSD faithful to please send us a pic of you rocking some Adidas kicks in remembrance of Jam Master Jay.

OSD Presents: "Just Blame Chad" The Sneaker World's 1st Official Sketch Comedy Show!

Finally, the sneaker world gets it's own OFFICIAL sketch comedy show thanks to the good folks at OSD. In partnership with 2-time emmy award winning production company A Milien Pictures Group "Just Blame Chad!" came to life. We took you behind the scenes in previous post right here on the OSD Blog, and now after a wild screening party on October 3rd in Brooklyn NYC, the show officially premiered on Wednesday, October 14th @ 11:30 PM EST on OSD TV. You will be amazed at what 1 Snuggie, a piece of twine, some baby powder, a camping tent, 2 fake gold chains, and 2 invisible dog leashes can turn into when a camera is rolling (LOL).

Special shout out to Geoff, Esco, and Damani of Flight Club NY, and to Chip Fu to showing folks who masters the flow! "Young Rappers Need Teachin!"

So just in case you missed the screening party, and the premiere you can now peep the episode RIGHT HERE!

Kicks: Nike Air Trainer 1

Whenever a new sneaker is released I go through a couple thought
processes: (1) Do I like the shoes?; (2) What are the technical
features of the shoes?, and (3) Are the shoes worth the retail price?

Well, when I saw the Nike Air Trainer 1s, in the classic grey, black
and green colorway, I said these shoes are "Fresh".

I almost ordered a pair from Eastbay because I knew better than to
search in vain for a pair in my 'hood, in my size 14.

So, on my recent trip to Beaverton, it paid off that I was patient and
I was able to pick-up these bad boys at the employee store.

Having worn them a couple times, I have to say that not only do the
Air Trainer 1s look "Fresh", but they are some of the most comfortable
sneakers, I've bought in a long time, fresh-out-the-box.

The sneakers are lightweight and the placement of the Flywire is just
enoughto let you know that it's there to keep the foot from over-
pronating.

The Free-outsole makes for a great fit and works with your foot,
rather than some sneakers which seem to fight your feet and force them
into submission.

Suffice to say, I'm now hunting for the classic-colorway in a size
14.

As most of you reading this may already know, filming begun August 3rd for OSD's sketch comedy show Just Blame Chad. Here is part two (of many future parts) from behind the scenes of the show.

Chad on location in Cobble Hill Brooklyn at RIME on Smith Street. The Corlaine Dunks were the sneaker of choice for the star of the show. See more of the variety of footwear folks rocked on the set below as we recorded a quick set with a musical guest (Find out who later)...

For the record Chad is a real pain in the ass to work with. During breaks all he wants to drink is the god awful beverage pictured below... You know the phrase, you can take the man out of the ghetto but....

Anivram Sneaker Art Showcase Recap: BROOKLYN WE GO HARD!!!

For those of you who listen to OSD often enough, you've heard the gripes from many of us in the crew about how hard it is to find a good sneaker event these days. Either it's "been there, done that", or "Why did they do that?" in most cases these days. So needless to say there's always the ambivalent feelings of hoping an event goes well, but on the other side of your mind you are not surprised if it does not.

WELL... That was not the case this past weekend (8/8/09) on a block in Crown Heights, Brooklyn as hundreds were in attendance. Props to Sam Robinson of Anivram for putting together a really good event with an enormous turnout. Some talented folks (from ALL OVER THE WORLD) had some good work on display, There was a live painting exhibition outside the gallery, and Female Sneaker Fiend's Pinkeye was also in the place reppin' for the Ladies. I appreciate her grind...She's everywhere these days! (See below)

Just Blame Chad: OSD's Sketch Comedy Show: On Set Part 1 (Ft. Greene Brooklyn)

On a rainy July afternoon filming began for OSD's new sketch comedy show in Brooklyn, New York. Without giving up too much before the show airs, here are some pictures from the set for one of the sketches in the premiere episode of "Just Blame Chad". As evident in these images, there was a lot of fun had by all on the set (even the dogs). The only bad time was had by the Jedi SB Dunks which had a tough time on the set (as the images will show). Of Course we'll update you on the production leading up to the premiere.

This unsuspecting pair of Jedi SB Dunks DID NOT have a good time on the set. Surely, there is a hypebeast somewhere looking at this while crying and possibly wondering why anyone would allow such a thing to happen to such a highly regarded sneaker. Well...all I can say is wait for the premiere episode of the show, and it will all make sense.

Back to the Stash: Kangaroos Are Back With a 5th Pocket You Can Really Use.

Any sneaker lover who is 20 years plus in the game like I am would remember the "Kangaroo" effect. This sneaker brand originally dropped kicks in the early 80's that had a pocket bigger and more useful than the 5th pocket on your jeans. The shoe colors were basic but the appeal was truly in the special "stash" pouch (Like a Kangaroo's pouch) that was on the side of each sneaker.

I'm sure a lot of drug dealers and users alike can tell at least 1 story that details how these kicks kept them out of jail, or from the pain involved with an "ass-whopping" from hell by Ma dukes. Hell...these kicks were so hot in the streets when they dropped, I remember when my 5th grade classmate (what up G? wherever you are) got robbed for his joints (just like the model below) right in the school yard IN FRONT of teachers and classmates.

Well...They are back in a big way, and for a price LESS THAN when they orignally dropped with some news styles in tow. I was pleasantly surprised to see these kicks in abundance in NYC footwear spot Training Camp today. Not only was it a good look for the folks who remember them, but the price is definitely gonna give the brand some new life if they are in the right stores.

So look for these kicks in your hood anywhere around the country. For $30 they are most def worth having at least 1 pair in the closet.

Sneaker Patience: Marshalls

Remember when your parents said, "Patience is a virtue."? Well, in
today's sneaker market if you're a savvy sneaker shopper you can find
some great deals at a number of sneaker spots such as Flight Club,
Premium Laces NY, Packer Shoes, Dr. Jay's, etc. One store that get
some heat rocks, but not alot of fan fare is Marshalls. Yes, that
Marshalls, the off-price retailer.

Peep the Nike Foamposite boots, which retailed for $225 available at a
Marshalls for $79.99. Too bad they're only available in size 9 & 9.5,
otherwise I would be copping a pair to beat this winter!

In the meantime, Walk GOOD & hit a Marshalls near you for a 'come up'
pair of kicks!

By now you've heard the news that Rasheed Wallace a/k/a/ Roscoe, signed with the Boston Celtics? His contract, a cool $5.8 million for the first year and then negotiable for years 2 and 3. Let's just say that Roscoe will not be hurting for money and he'll be setting up shop (read: house) in Waltham or West Roxbury.

But, let's cut to the chase and put our cards on the table, sneakerheads, and yours truly, already envisioned some White and Green Air Force 1 Highs with a Green Swoosh, Green outsole and Black Proprioceptus Belt (read: strap) dangling from the rear, as only 'Sheed can rock them.

information, and create new experiences. Yeah, VP Al Gore still runs
around saying he invented the Internet, but we know who the really
did, don't we?

Stepping into the media arena and taking the Internet by storm, Dallas
Penn kicked that door down, smashed every bottle in the joint and
bagged the hottest chick in the game! Y'all already know he is Mr.
Internets!!

Well, DP was in full effect mode last night at Sneaker Pimps NYC, and
he was in the cut deeper than rap.
