Alessandra Ray arrived 6/29/09 at 4:34 pm and weighed 6lbs 150z. It was the most peaceful and serene birth and we are absolutely in love. Mommy Bliss is the best.

closed for maternity leave

After mailing the very last orders out today we are officially closed for maternity leave (a big sigh of relief). We should be back open in August with a whole new look. I am also happy to announce we are starting to manufacturing our own clothes. I am so excited about the future and all the wonderful things that have come our way. Thank you customers! You are the best.

things I bought today

The baby is due next Monday and I have been scrambling to get everything ready and buy all the last minute items I forgot. I didn't know if I wanted a Moses basket but decided how handy it would be to carry her downstairs and outside. So I bought it and tons of other stuff. I also have been looking and looking for a diaper bag. They're either to big, to expensive, or just not what I wanted until I came across this one from Pongo Baby. I love it! My husband and I can both carry it and it's a mini one that fits perfectly.

Here's a pic of our newly painted patriotic house. I have to say that it's growing on me. I think it fits in nicely with the other colorful houses in our neighborhood, like the Violet Belle. More pics to come of the inside soon.

We finally got a chance to try out the new camera. What better subject than Kai brushing his teeth after a hard day of play outside. He is a brush- a- teeth- aholic, at least 4 times a day but hey no cavaities. The photos overall turned out pretty good considering I am camera challenged. I can't wait to post more photos of our summer days.

Hawaiian Punch

It's been so stinkin hot here that the only thing I crave these days is Hawaiian punch. Lot's of it. I have been cutting back a little because it can't be the best thing for a pregnant person. It reminds me of when my grandmother and I used to walk to church and they would give you Hawaiian punch and those yummy little butter cookies that you can put on your finger for a snack. It's the only thing I thought of on our walk there. It's the little things. I miss her lots.

Yard Sales

There's alot of yard sales going on in our neighborhood this month. I usually don't go because their so early in the morning but I got an email that I couldn't refuse. This lady was selling practically everything in her entire house to move to LA. Everything being all her furniture, anthropologie table, J.Crew, Shabby Chic bookcases, and pottery barn baskets. I had such a great time and got this cute blue bookcase, baskets, and antique pictures. She's having it again in a couple of weeks to sell all her vintage jewelry, count me in.

Happy June!! Our baby is due this month and we're super excited. I really want to slow down and enjoy the last month as a family of four before she arrives.

Painting started on the house today and it looks great so far. Yep, we're gonna have a red white and blue house. I will definately post a pick when they're done. My poor husband is covered in poison ivy from head to toe. Yard work is hard work and pulling all the ivy off the house to paint was a two weekend event. I am so glad it's over and off to the doctor tomorrow for a cortizone shot for him. Oh and a mother and son date to the movies to see UP!. Happy Day!

antique dresser

I finally found a dresser for the nursery. I have been looking for a couple of months but everything was either to expensive or just not what I was looking for. Today I came across this one on craigslist and it's perfect. It's even prettier in person. Two hours later and 60.00 bucks less it's in our house. One less thing to worry about and to mark off the list. Yay!!!

New Totes

I have been designing new shapes for our new line of totes. I am so excited about them. I have been carrying one for a couple of weeks and love it. The tote is completely different and the designs are all drawn and hand embroidered. We also have a new clothing item that is being custom made for babies and kids. I hope to have them in the shop after the baby(September at the latest) is born and after my amazing photographer Claire Wise takes photos. Stay tuned! There will definately be a giveaway!

Week 35

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I took advantage of the long weekend to get alot of small projects done. Some being cleaning out the fridge, giving the dog a bath, and doing all sorts of yard work before painting starts on June 1. Well I think I may have over done it. I woke up this morning with contractions and straight to the doctor I went for over an hour wait. Not fun. It turned out to be braxton hicks and was ordered to rest. Easier said than done. I still have so much to do in the next 5 weeks!

Red Chair

I picked up this little chair last week. It is so tiny and perfect for the nursery. I plan on painting yellow or white, geez I've got alot of painting going on right now.

Window Boxes

The window boxes that I ordered are finally here (yay!). We decides to get the exterior of the house painted last minute before we put them up. I have until tommorrow to come up with the new house colors and I have no clue. Our 1928 house is currently blue, red and yellow. I think somthing a little more subtle will work. I did find a note on the front door from a passerbyer that simply said "lovely house". I always thought quaint was a good description but I love our little house and thank you to whoever left the sticky note.
I hope to take pictures soon but when I ordered our new camera it didn't come with a lense. Stupid right? No wonder I got such a good deal. It should be here and I can take all sorts of pics. It's been forever since I've had a camera and I can't wait.

New Ride

Sorry for the late posting. My computer settings were all messed up so posting was a pain. It's all fixed now. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. It was just me and the boys since my husband was out of town picking up our new ride. We had a great day. It included hanging out, eating pizza and watching movies together on our big bed.
Since our little family is growing my sweet inlaws gifted us with a new car. All I can say is thank you, thank you! We love it and the new baby will fit perfectly between her two big brothers.

New Laptop

I'm now at the really uncomfortable pregnant stage. Also known as I forget everything stage. Sitting at the computer for longer than 15 minutes is really uncomfortable. I get cramps in my ribs and she kicks the whole time. I'm sure she's saying stop it lady! Anyway I was so surprised when my husband brought home this new (to me)apple. The most exciting part was he also found a computer desk that fits over you like a breakfast tray with a light built in. He is so sweet and thoughtful and now I can relax without being all cramped up. Thanks J!

Flea Market

Saturday we all decided to get up early and head out to the flea market. I haven't been in awhile so I was so excited about all the goodies I could potentially find. The weather was great, 87 degrees eventhough it was a bit warm. I was looking for an extra dresser but unfortuantely I didn't find one. I did find a great afghan like the one above for 5 bucks, homemade soap, and a load of antique pez dispensers for Matty's collection.

New Camera

Since my camera broke it's been driving me crazy so I order this Nikon last Friday. I'm kinda camera challenged so I wanted something that took great photos but easy to work. I've heard so many good things about this one. A friend of mine said she can't live without hers so yeah I was easily infulenced. Not to mention I got a great deal on it. Can't wait to post my first photo!

Lots of Things

Lots of things have been going on these past couple of weeks. For one my crappy camera broke, not such a bad thing. Now I have an excuse to buy a new one. The Sweet Line is growing leaps and bounds but due to the impending birth of our baby I will close up shop briefly for maternity leave in a few weeks. I will put up an official announcement on the blog. I am finally getting my antique couch recovered for an amazing price, getting flower boxes, and the nursery is coming together nicely. I feel like I am running out of time and I am. One more thing I will be having minor surgery on Tuesday but will be back sometime next week. I also plan to have a huge giveaway after the baby is born so stay tuned. Have a wonderful week!!!!!!
