Beauty Buzz | Lush Cosmetics

I passed by the Lush Cosmetics boutique on 34th street a few weeks ago, was lured in by the scent and hype inside and I have been a Lush convert ever since. The store is filled with delicious and natural and handmade soaps, bath bombs and facial masks galore. Coming from an Indian background I've always embraced natural cosmetics and their benefits. Lush is definitely taking the beauty world by storm by offering environmentally friendly products that are simply, lush, decadent and most importantly, fun. Here are some of my favorite products.

I am a huge fan of scrubs. I think it's important to exfoliate your skin a few times a week to revive and refresh your complexion. I especially love this particular scrub, Ocean Salt, because it has a little vodka mixed in with sea salt. It smells delicious and it buffs off dead skin and gives me a great glow. It's also great for the face, I even got one of my guy friends to become a religious user of this scrub. He was so impressed how great his skin looked after one good buff.

I use these two LUSH cleansers at night. They are far from the ordinary and they take a little time to get used to. Coalface comes in a conventional bar soap form and has licorice and coal essences. It's a great cleanser that leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean. Herbalism comes in a solid form, it has a play-doh consistency. You simply take a pea sized amount and mix it with a little water to form a paste and simply rub it all over your face and rise. My skin looks much more balanced and brighter.

Bath time is one of my favorite times and the Lush soaps and bath bombs really make it special. My favorite is the Bohemian Soap. It smells like delicious lemons and the scent lingers all day long and blends great with my Miss Dior Cherie fragrance. It also has a luxe lather and makes my skin super clean.

You've read all about them and now your all going crazy for them, knee high boots are the latest come back to hit the catwalk and we're dying for a pair. From Halston to Stella McCartney, they boots are back and higher than ever. So how do you work them without looking for a $6 cent hooker? Simply by following these rules:

1 Never pair leather boots with anything else leather.

2 Mix with styles, if the boots are heeled go for black tights to keep the focus on the feet and it will also elongate legs.

3 Buy a flat pair if your not confident with your walk, then decide on the heeled versions.

4 If your buying leather, don't go for glossed or patent leather. They will only make the shoes look less classy.

5Unless your wearing Fendi fur do not mix with a fur coat.

The entire title of this book is, Freakin' Fabulous: How to Dress, Speak, Behave, Eat, Drink, Entertain, Decorate, and Generally Be Better than Everyone Else. I think it speaks for itself. I enjoyed reading every page of this book and could not put it down. Clinton gives great pointers to freshen up you etiquette, personal style, decorating sense and so much more in a hip fun to read layout complete with chic pictures. You will away many helpful hints from this book from great recipes to proper grammar and everything in between. Get you copy here.

Hello all you gorgeous people,

As the weather gets warmer, our hems raise as do our margarita glasses! It's been one of the busiest summers so far both personally and professionally. I've had the pleasure of meeting some of the hottest new designers as well as viewing many of the latest collections and I am aching to share them with you. I have been taking a long deserved break from writing. To be honest although I was technically on hiatus my brain was filled with new ideas, products, collections and designers to feature on Haute Mimi.

American Fashion Book by Assouline via Vivre

As the fourth of July approaches, I'd like to acknowedge the melting pot of designers that make up American fashion. From Naeem Khan to Carolina Herrera each designer brings their own personal style and vision to the streets of Fifth Avenue down to Rodeo Drive.

And at last, I've finally put together my FW09 notes and July's features include the Crème de la crème of the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries. What to wear this summer? When styling men white always looks great with a tan as this Nikki Beach White Party shows. White shorts tight black T shirt, coloured linen shirt for an easy, cool look. Colours? Choose black, pale blue, turquoise or dark red. Linen shirts can be found everywhere. Keep it simple for instant sex appeal.

With the beautifully warm and cheerful summer weather now well underway, you want to look cool and casual for days on the beach or barbecues with friends. Here are a few tips on where to save, yet still look stylish for summer...

Simple cotton t-shirts in bright colours work wonders for any summer outfit. Adding a splash of colour atop a pair of tailored shorts or linen trousers can really add a nice flair to your look. Whilst graphic design t-shirts can often cost a pretty penny, a plain coloured option is friendlier on the wallet. The added bonus is that rather than relying on the print as the main focal point of your outfit, a simple colour play can look great. Make sure to choose a lighter colour, whilst keeping in mind which colours work best for you.

Although you may think of scarves as a winter option, a linen or fine cotton piece is just as useful for summer.
