I stayed with him for 3 miserable years thinking no one else would want me . Little to my surprise almost every guy i dated since him had it also before me. I started to notice more people had it also. I finally met the guy of my dreams and cried when i broke down and told him that i had GH . To my surprise he grabbed me and said he had it also. We just got married and having our 1st baby together. Having GH doesnt stop you from having a baby. You just have to have a c-section incase of an outbreak. So to all you woman who feel like no one will be with you , its not true. You would be amazed how many people who you wouldnt think have it. Its not a death wish and really not that serious. Its no diff than having one on your mouth its just below the belt. If someone loves you for you than having GH wont matter to them. Jus ttake precautions with your uninfected partner during outbreaks. Keep your heads up and remember to always have new partners tested for everything and then see papers before having sex without protection. STDs doesnt have a face, remember that. Even if they knock your socks off cause there so handsome . GET THEM TESTED . I went home devestated(only been initimate with two guys)my boyfriend of six years tested positive with HSV-1 not GH we had been actively trying to have a baby for about two years I was puzzled why wouldn&#39;t he have GH to. I immediately went to my local STD clinic. The clinician said she was 90% sure the blisters were impetigo and not herpes because they were in a hairy area of the skin and because she had "been doing this 21 years." <br /><br />She swabbed the area for a Herpes Simplex PCR test. Two weeks went by as I was waiting for the results. I researched for hours about impetigo and herpes and had convinced myself the clinician was likely correct. The blisters went away within a few days and didn't itch or hurt at all. They looked very much like the pictures I saw of impetigo.<br /><br />I was feeling very hopeful that it was not HSV-2. I finally got the results back from the Herpes Simplex PCR test - it came back positive for HSV-2. I am devasted. Is there any possibility this could be a false positive? <br /><br />The blisters are long gone and the area is completely healed. I suppose if I get another outbreak it is herpes. I can get the blood test but it is only accurate 12 weeks after exposure. Any advice or encouragement is greatly appreciated. I contracted the virus after the father of children and I were apart for about 3 months. I made the decision to work it out with him and about a week after we were together, I got really sick and went to the OB/GYN as was painful for the urine to touch my skin after urination. She tested for all STDs but Herpes was the final verdict. Unforetunately, I infected him with the virus as well. Soon after I broke out, I had a sore on my hairline behind my ear and an enlarged lymph node. I went back to the OB/GYN and she swabbed the infection and sent it back to the lab and it came back as Herpes. She had never seen a sore in that location before so she told me if it ever happened to see a dermatologist. I have been looking for information on such occurences but I have found none. As I research, I find information on HIV. Having genital herpes is not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. I myself found out I had genital herpes after my fiance (now husband) was in prison for 6-7 months. I did not get herpes from him, I got them from an ex-boyfriend. I had no sexual contact of any sort and there it was. I not only had to deal with my family, but telling him and hoping he trusted me enough to believe that I had not been with anyone else. I take valtrex every day so I do not have a break out. My doctor has told me that you are only contagious when you are having a break out. As you can see my fiance believed me and we are now married and have been for 6 years. I don't talk about it much, a matter of fact sometimes I forget it is there. I have found that one thing that definately causes break outs is STRESS. If you are under alot of stress and worried about many things this will cause a break out. When I found out I had herpes, I wanted to know how. I found out that herpes can lay dorment, until you have a break out. You may have them for (in my case 6 months or longer) some time and not even know it. This does not have to change your life. It is just like everything else, take your medicine and manage your herpes so your partner does not get them. So Mandi don't be so hard on yourself, you seem to have a lot going for you (I myself have a 16 yr old). I'll most likely know for sure next monday but it is a pretty definite yes. I am in immense pain and am pretty much crashing. All in one day I found this out, found out my biological dad is once again in jail, and have a HUGE paper due tomorrow that is 20% of my grade in one of my college courses. I was tested negative for herpes three months ago... so it all comes down to my current boyfriend. He only had sex with a virgin since his last testing and they always used protection but somehow he contracted it from her from the looks of things. He is getting tested in two days. He is being really helpful and supportive but he does not have symptoms and has no idea what this feels like to go through physically and emotionally. I love him dearly. My son was 5 months old I started seeing this guy cause my son's dad and I had been split up for about 5 months. I kept telling him I wanted to wait. Well I gave in I had a bad reaction to condoms so I didn't make him use one. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I hate him everyday for it. Not long after that I got back together with my son's dad it was after we got back together I found out my test result. All I did was sit in my car and car while he held me. We have been back together for a year now and are planning on getting married in July. I thought my life would be over but he is the reason I've gotten through it. With out him I don't know what I would do. He knows that being with me there is a possiblity he could get it and he said he is willing to live with that fact. He has not gotten it from me and hopefully it stays that way. We have even talked about having another baby. But the wedding comes first.
